MPEG2, Lossless and 25GB, seriously?
You know guys, I think this movie rocks...!!!!!
2-Disc Artwork Rocks!!
Although I have no interest to see this movie...

Oh, and I like the 2-disc artwork, except for the fire. The fire looks fake. I haven't seen it, but I've heard nothing but bad things. And this isn't the first i've heard of it being a Star Wars rip-off either. I may watch some of it on HBO, just to see how bad he ripped of Lucas. I heard there is even a scene of him staring into the sunset like Luke, I'm shocked old George didn't go after him. But screw Lucas anyway, he ruined my childhood hero... fkn hack!
I wish Avril Lavigne would of done a music video for "Keep Holding On". It would of probably ended up on the DVD.
How long was this in the movies, like 2 seconds?
A good idea that went horribly wrong. Will they have enough money for the sequel?

It is true. And his wealthy mum and dad bought him a publishing house, and he published it himself.
I met him a few years ago when he was doing a book tour around the UK. He's up himself, but I guess he's done well for himself (he's only in his mid-20s).

As bad as the movie is, I will say this: I heard the dude that created Eragon wrote the book when he was 16 years old...now I readily admit that I may be misinformed, but if this is true, that's pretty damn impressive nonetheless!...
i thought it was good id atleast rent it my sis and bro were disapsointed due to a key element of the book was left out so that makes you wonder if a extended Cut is in the works? knowing fox it maybe to
I liked this movie but the book more, so I was disappointed that the movie felt so rushed and it was at least 30 mins too short. A friend of mine who never read the book loved it. I look forward to getting the 2 disc set, hopefully the deleted scenes will help fill in some of the missing character and story elements. The extras look very interesting and I love the cover art.
I love Fox is doing 1 disc and 2 disc releases at the same time.

Look what happened to the seventies with disaster movies. Eventually we're going to get sick of fantasy epic. And we'll get sick of comic book movies, too. We need a new paradigm. Stat.
You also forgot that "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" and "Fellowship of the Ring" were the movies that reinvigorated the fantasy genre ("Narnia" wouldn't have seen the light of day if both of them bombed). Well, "Harry Potter" was the first because it was released in theaters a month before LOTR was. And pretty much the only fantasy films to look forward to is the final three "Potter" films and the "Narnia" sequels. (And maybe his "Dark Materials" as well.)
And I don't see why this film will get a sequel -- domestically, it didn't make back its $90 million budget and usually the studios take the U.S. earnings into consideration more heavily before greenlighting a sequel.
That said, both covers for "Eragon" look exceptional and the extras for the 2-disc edition look much more informative and voluminous than the ones the WB does for "Harry Potter". It almost makes me wish that the Potter franchise was owned by Fox rather than the WB.

I actually liked this movie. I'm not the biggest fantasy fan but I thought it was a lot better than The Chronicle of Narnia... yet everyone loves that movie and hates this.

I'm not sure if BLATANT-UNADULTERATED-DECLINE-OF-WESTERN-CIVILIZATION-BULLS@IT like "Borat" should get Blu-Ray treatment period, let alone any standard DVD treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am just glad at least one of the covers features just the dragon, I really don't give a damn about the human characters (except john malkovich).
I don't know... bad movie but the final fight in blu-ray... I just don't know...
This movie was terrible. However, I'm always happy to see studios do everyone a solid by releasing single and extensive 2-disc special editions day and date. Whatever helps the overall DVD cause, I'm for it.
Move wasn't that great and didn't do well. What is up with the pricing!? That is insane. Anyone who pays that price has got too much money.
Wow, what an amazing, simple yet elegant cover!
I love fantasy movies and i love dragons.. but i missed this at the theaters. So i'll probably rent it first since not alot of people liked it, but god damn this cover and 2 disc set makes me want to blind buy it!

This here is a direct result of LOTR being successful. This and Bridge To Terabithia (which is being advertised so deceptively) and Lion Witch and Boredom - I mean Wardrobe.

Is there any difference between this and the Region 2? The artwork is certenly better than the R2 if amazon.co.uk's is correct
Will give it a chance.Nice cover!!!
Bad movie, Bad acting (except for the dragon and Jeremy Irons)and a short one too (running time) comparing to the other epic fantasy movies.
This is a no purchase for me unless they make an extended edition "a la" Lord of the Rings.

My nephew will be thrilled. He loved this movie.
Would never want to see this, but I have to admit that the cover is one of better ones I've seen.
Extremely sub-par movie dressed-up in "Look-at-me!-I'm-pretty!" artwork...may be worth a rental on a slow release week, but that's about it...
Finally i cant wait to buy this i loved it!
if i were u i would not blind buy this one, one of my top 10 worst films of the year. i tried to go in with a positive approach lost interest in the movie within 10 min, never did bring my interest back. whole time in theater i was wishing i should have seen dreamgilrs instead. but i do love the cover it's awesome.
I love that cover. I will blind-buy this because I somewhat like the book. However, I will not buy it the week of release because I'd rather save my money to buy happy feet and children of men the follwing week.
This film was quite disappointing considering how many great fantasy book adaptations have been made lately. I guess Fox thought it was easy, but it's much harder than they thought. Still, this film was mildly entertaining and had some very nice effects and action. Consiering that it's a 2-Disc off the bat with good coverart I'll probably pick it up.
PS- I am SO happy that FOX has finally made a turn around and is releasing these 2-Disc's the same day as the single. Now, I'm just waiting for the inevitable announcements of the X3 and F4 2-Disc editions, and FOX will finally get on my good side with DVDs.

Why would I need to see something as guerilla as Borat in 1080p?
Medicore entertainment. A big disappointment from start to finish.
