Escape from Guantanamo Bay (US - DVD R1 | BD RA)
New Line sends over art for a special edition of the Harold and Kumar movie
Title: Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Starring: John Cho
Released: 29th July 2008
SRP: Prices TBC
Further Details:
New Line Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc and 2-disc special editions of Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay which stars John Cho, Kal Penn, and Rob Corddry. A Blu-ray release will also be available. Each will carry an anamorphic widescreen presentation, and English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras on the 2-disc will include a commentary with the director and stars, a second commentary with the director, the real “Harold Lee” and the guy who plays George W. Bush, a World of Harold and Kumar featurette, 27 Additional Scenes, and a Bush PSA. The artwork is attached below:

Quote: The movie stars John Cho (Star Trek, American Pie) as Harold and Kal Penn (The Namesake, House, Van Wilder) as Kumar, two stoners who can’t seem to get a break. Their last adventure found them traveling across country to find a White Castle hamburger in order to satisfy a weed-induced case of “the munchies.” This time, the boys get themselves in trouble trying to sneak a bong onboard a flight to Amsterdam. Now, being suspected of terrorism, they are forced to run from the law and try to find a way to prove their innocence. What follows is an irreverent and epic journey of deep thoughts, deeper inhaling and a wild trip around the world that is as “un-PC” as it gets.

I think I'm the only person who can't stand s**tty teen movies like this. Let alone 'Unrated' ones.

Sc**ping the bottom of the barrel again for some quick bucks?
I liked the movie but I don't like that cover.
Baby mama was so much better than this. Harold and Kumar 2 sucked at the box office and I'm glad it did. By the way do we need another 2-disc unrated? Seriously. If the want unrated that bad why not make it a single disc. C**ppy movies don't need c**ppy artwork or 2-disc.
$$$

Actually for its budget it did not suck at the box office.
Production Budget: $12 million
Box Office: $36,200,000

Never saw the first one either.
I actually saw this last night in theatres... alright movie, not as good as the first one.
Also, on the Blu-ray cover, why does it say DVD on the side, above the New Line logo?

not a big fan of the first, but i saw a free sneak preview of this one and i'll admit, i laughed my ass off constantly. but its one of those "one time" sorta comedies. they're funny at first because its new but they lose their funny with multiple viewings. one of the reasons i rarely buy comedies.
but yeah that blu-ray cover is just the dvd image with "blu-ray" slapped on...funny. lol

I kinda liked the first one, colourful use of language, then it got ridiculous with the cheeta & all. This one looks 'balls' but I'll give it a go.

if you thought the cheetah was ridiculous, get ready for even worse things in this one....still funny mind you but its sooo over the top you have to laugh. lol

I thought this was pretty funny (and I've never had any weed in my life, so I'm no laugh-at-anything stoner). It wasn't as good as the first one, but it was funny, although the epilogue is really tacked-on. The cover art is pretty lame though.
I loved the first one and the fact that the second one came out one day after my B0day (April 25th) It made it kinda of specail and this sequal didnt let down...but not as good as the first!!!
Wow, that was quick. Crystal Skull sure booted this one out of the theater.
I really enjoyed the first one, especially Christopher Meloni's cameo as "freakshow".

I got the first one, so maybe I'll buy the sequel. Both are really funny movies unlike Meet The Spartans. But I'm getting a weird feeling that the special edition will have all the features on Disc 1 and the only thing on Disc 2 is the world most useless feature : the digital copy. Please Warner Bros, don't do this to us. Or at the very least, do like Sony will be doing with Vantage Point, sell the 1 disc with features and the digital copy seperatly. Don't do like Fox, by forcing us to pay more to geth the features and the stupid digital copy.
that was fast... didnt this come out like the end of april?
I loved the frst one. I passed on this in the theaters, but wil pick it up t view on DVD.
wow, f**k, so many people dont like these movies, theyre alittle more than weed and dick jokes, both have a issues of race, and this one is more political than anything.
h&k is f**kin AWSOME!

I loved the first...destined to be a stoner classic, and although this one wasn't nearly as good, it was one of the funnier films of seen recently.
YlowBstard66, mind giving me your email? I gotta ask you something!
$10 I'll never get back.

I love the first (which I own) and will definitely be picking up this 2-disc. What's funny is that I blind-bought the original, thinking it'd be a quick time-killer that I'd probably never watch again. I was wrong. There are some many funny moments that it is worth watching over and over. Bobby Lee's parts are the funniest.

Nope, I can't stand this garbage Hollywood is peddling either. It's c**p like this that only contributes to the negative impression other countries have towards us. We deserve their contempt. Bass turds.

Someone doesn't know anything about the Box Office. Just because it didn't do 100 Million doesn't mean it didn't do well for the movie it is. In fact, this one did very nice. The first opened with only 5.480 Million and ended its run at the Box Office with 18.225 Million. The second one opened with 14.908 Million and is heading for a gross of about 40 Million. That's very nice, especially when it was facing competition for the same audience from both the opening of Baby Mama and the second weekend of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It almost tripled the opening of the first, and doubled its total gross. How anyone can say it "sucked" at the Box Office is beyond me. We weren't talking about Strange Wilderness.
Anyway, I thought the first looked like c**p and it ended up being a surprisingly very funny comedy. The sequel doesn't look like it will be as good, but I'll still rent it.
The cover art isn't that great, but it's good enough I suppose. It doesn't need to be anything fancy for this movie.

VERY lame sequel, i laughed a few times, but this just couldn't live up to the original. It almost tried too hard but at the same time i don't think it tried at all
You guys are going to hate this. There's going to be a digital copy I heard it on videoeta.com
I LOVE The Digtal Copy thing, what is everyones deal about being against it???
i thought it was decently funny. Will buy.
Definitely not as good as the first, but still a charmingly funny movie. Will be picking this one up as soon as it hits shelves.

Because the extras that they squeeze on a 1-disc (which could have gone on the single disc version) and then use that second disc for a digital copy.
