Yub Yub. Wilford Brimley's other (aside from Cocoon) opus is finally in digital format!
Long live Wilford Brimley! Isn't he like 5,000 years old now...even with diabetes?
Must be all those Quaker Oats he eats.

Sadly, seen like everybody forget that Endor original inhabitant was supposed to be Wookiee, featured in Chewbacca and Family: Star Wars Christmas Special! A TV movie that most people forgotten, or never know it exist!
For commercial purpose of selling the puff toys, the wookiee morph into Ewok! Ha ha ha ha!

Actually George Lucas is on record as saying it was because he wanted to use a primitive race on Endor, and Wookies had already been established as a sophisticated species.

on the brighter side....
On the brighter side... after the battle over Endor, flaming radioactive pieces of Death Star II slammed into the planet killing most of the indigenous population instantly, and those that weren't lucky to perish instantly suffered a very slow painful radiation induced death.... I wonder if any footage of this appears on the special features... hmmmmm one can only hope :D
Who doesn't like furballs? All this good stuff coming out before Christmas. I'm going to have to find another job to support all my habits. :D
I'll get these. I have them on VHS but I prefer DVD of course.
hmm.
Aren't Ewoks just grown up Gremlins? =)

Maybe they lose the green after puberty
This is great!
Even brings me hope that they'll do the 1985 MFTV version of Alice in Wonderland!!!
*does a rendition of the Snoopy Dance as she retires old Betamax versions of both Ewok films*

The Droids and Ewoks DVDs are complete rip offs.
According to digital bits
Quote: Droids will include select episodes of the original 1985 Droids animated series edited into two feature-length films - The Pirates and the Princess and Treasures of the Hidden Planet (both 86 minutes).
Quote: Star Wars: Animated Adventures -Ewoks will also include select episodes of the original 1985-87 Ewoks animated series edited into two feature films - The Haunted Village (88 minutes) and Tales from the Endor Woods (89 minutes).
Quote: Unfortunately, I suspect MOST of you were hoping for the Droids and Ewoks animated series to be released complete with all the original episodes, but such is not to be.

Holiday Special
Well, at least we still have our trusy copy of the Holiday Special.
When we have guests who just won't leave, we stick on Carrie Fisher singing that drippy song about joy and harmony at the end.
Never fails.

I'll definitely be replacing my VHS copies with these DVDs. Been wondering for a while when they were going to get around to releasing these two films on DVD.

Well, He's the Creator of STAR WARS universal! Much with what he can do to his movie, he can say whatever he like!

The statement by Lucas was made in the early 80's, not a new statement. Also found it really hard to find enough tall people to play the parts.

Sweet!
I for 1 have always loved the Ewok Movies I saw them b4 I saw Star Wars and I have a sweet spot for Wicket. It's a great thing that these movies are finally coming 2 DVD I could only find 1 when I looked for them on VHS and could only find The Ewok Adventure(Caravan of Courage but MGM really messed up the cover on that 1 by the way any 1 think that lucas was Reading a lot of Brothers Grim and Tolken when coming up with Endor it's the Trippest Planet in the Star Wars Unaverse.
I think everything that has been Star Wars related is now on DVD.
I would have more fun watching a video marathon of Britney Spears. The Ewoks killed Jedi for me.....
I'll pass
I might get this for nostalgia value. I'm actually sad enough to remember that the little girl is called Cindel Towani (and her brother is called Mace, of all things). Yes, Wicket W. Warwick and his mates may well be heading towards my collection...
Theses movies are great fantasy ones! I'll pick this DVD Set on the release day!
I remember the 1st film was really just a cute Ewok movie, but the 2nd film nearly traumatized me Spoiler with all of the death early in the film...especially Cindel's brother Mace (who was a major character from the 1st film) getting killed. But then she meets the nice, old, oatmeal man.
