Reminder
This is just an early reminder to keep discussion to the DVD, and not on whether or not you think Bush (or Moore!) is an <insert insult>. Thanks!

allways nice with a big collection of lies on a DVD
I have no desire to be further exposed to the leftist views of this "documentarian." I am infuriated that this film was allowed to pass as a documentary. It is full of downright fiction and yet many accept it as the gospel. I just wish people weren't so lazy and would do a little research of their own. The Nazis were also well aware of the power of propaganda. Just toss in enough truth and the masses will buy the fiction. Nuff said.

As stated above keep your views to yourself and keep this about the DVD.
And comparing a POV such as Michael Moores with Nazi propaganda is just downright stupid.

I always find it funny how Moore always "lies," yet Bill O'Rielly is honest Abe.
Say what you will about the film, it has tons of facts to back up Moore's opinions. Last time I checked, Webster doesn't describe an opinion as a lie.
In any case, this movie was great. I guess it's borderline calling a movie heavy on opinion a documentary, but that won't stop it from winning the Oscar for it again this year.

Actually I think Moore's movie is worse then Nazi Propaganda. At least they believed the garbage they spewed. Just a few years ago Moore was calling the left Dumb-ocrats. He just plays both sides to cash in and everyone who pays up is a victim. Although I too am sick of his crap so 'nuff said.
Just had to say something
I've been coming to this site for a while now and until now I have never felt compelled to comment.
First, even if Fahrenheit 9/11 is 'downright fiction', I think it is a very good film. A simple example is that I think the film was very well structured - I found the contrast between those who are negatively affected by war and those who profit from it to be very effective. For me it revealed the meaninglessness of it all.
Secondly, if it is all lies, aren't there defamation laws in the US. I believe Fahrenheit has been meticulously researched and is factually true, which is exactly why we won't see any law suits against Moore. I have heard people say that it is full of falsities, but I haven't been presented with a single fact to support a stance typified by statements of the following nature - "Moore's film is so untrue it is not worth commenting on".
Finally, I think that the only flaw with the film is that the focus is drawn too heavily on the individuals (i.e. Bush, Cheney) rather than the flaws in the system. I don't want to debate or discuss this further, I just don't think Bush is the root of all evil. So, Moore is possibly guilty of laying a disproportionate amount of blame on Bush & Co.
In conclusion, Moore did the research, he did the work, and no one seems to be able to refute him. Give credit where it is due - I personally congratulate him for a job well done.
The DVD itself looks very interesing, I am wondering if the 'new scene' has been inserted into the film. The featurettes look quite interesting - I will definitely be getting this DVD.

If only it was "nuff said". Every time we post details of one of Moore's DVDs we get a number of people turning the comments system into a forum to air their political views. As Tom has already stated, please keep discussion to the relative merits of the disc. If you don't like Moore, why bother to read the article at all?
.
I'm hoping that with all these extras, It'll be a two-disc set. Can't wait to buy a copy nonetheless.
Think I'll get this one... waited until his previous title ended up on TV last time. Just got to decide which region will be the best.
argh!
Some people need to keep opinions to themselves, this isn't a debate it's a discussion on a dvd. Ah that cover art is weird. Why is there blue skies and clouds behind Moore?
The amount of people who actually take this guy's material as factual info is scary. Bill O'Reilly exposed him last week for the lying SOB that he is.

and Bill O'Reilly is always telling the truth right? Look this is a DVD forum, DVD not a political one. Go find another forum to spew this crap.

Okay, time for me to speak up too. I have but one simple question directed at the people who dismiss this movie as outright lies. A simple yes or no will suffice. The question is did you see this movie. If you haven't than you have no right saying that it's false without first seeing it. I have seen it and I can tell you that 95 percent of it is true.
Sweet! Can't wait to own this movie! MM Rocks!

Can you read? Everything I stated was directly related to the film and its flim maker. I saw "Fahrenheit 911" and IT IS a pack of lies. The facts are quite clear that he was less than forthcoming with a number of facts that would have rendered his point-of-view false. The omission of fact is the same as weaving lies. And my use of the term propaganda was quite accurate and the Nazis were artists of that game. So I am not "stupid" in drawing a comparison. Evidently you are not a student of history. Bevan's assertion that nobody has pointed out the distortions and lies is laughable. What rock does he or she live under? You people really need an education. Do some research. I believe the film's merits or the lack thereof are fair game for discussion with the imminent DVD release.

Nice cover, although I would perfer using the poster of him holding Bush's hand.
Am I the only one commenting on the disc?
Am I the only one commenting on the disc?
God damn it it Aaron, you've gone made me angry. Please go to and read the article headed "9/11 Commission Report Confirms Key Fahrenheit 9/11 Facts" or read "THE FACTS IN FAHRENHEIT 9/11" where Moore details each fact given in the film. Oh and then... SHUT UP!! That goes for all of you nay sayers. Right...... got that off my chest.
As for the DVD, i don't like the cover. I prefer the movie poster (Moore and Bush holding hands on the White House lawn) than this. I've also seen another pic of him holding up an envelope and that was better than this. It's like they suddenly realised that the subject matter of the film was both disturbing and sad, so gave Moore sympathetic eyes.
Also there is a lack of commentary. Moore didn't do one on 'Bowling For Columbine' either (leaving it for his production crew to do) but did do some for his TV shows, so he's not against the idea. I can't help but think that this would benefit from a Moore commentary.

For anybody who thinks the facts back up Michael Moore's assertions, you need to look here:
This site details many of the deceptions, half-truths, and contradictions in Fahrenheit 9/11, as well as a whole lot of facts omitted by Moore because they didn't help push his agenda.

Thats hardly a ruputable website. It leans so far to the right that it nocked my monitor off the edge of my desk the second I clicked on it. Now do your work and come back when you find a real non-partisan site that can back up your claims (keyword "real"

Most of the whole movie is honest un-doctored footage! It amazes me how you guys can argue with that but then again it still amazes me that you guys can walk up right also you knuckle draggers!

I think he was merely saying that you comparing Michael Moore, who, regardless of whether you think he's right or not, is challenging people to think for themselves instead of just believing the information given to them by their nightly news, to Hitler, who killed millions of innocent people on the basis of their religion and/or lifestyle, is ridiculous... and it is.
I know that some people toe the political line for both sides. Either whole-heartedly believing right-wing extremists or extreme liberal extremeists. The point is that when shown opposing points of view people from both sides will invariably find the truth. It's just up to them whether they accept it or not. And I seriously doubt that posting to a DVD forum will change anyone's political views.
And quoting historians is not going to make anyone on this list think any higher of you...
I, for one, have seen 9/11 and I also plan on seeing the upcoming "Michael Moore Hates America." I wonder what kind of facts will be omitted from that film.

Toys. That's what the cover reminds me of. It reminds me of the cover to the movie, Toys. You know the one with Robin Williams.
They really need to use the Mike and George hand holding artwork. It's so much better.

???
Yeah...theres alot of good dvds coming out...cough...cough...yep.
Why do you Liberals resort to calling people "stupid" or telling people to "shut up," when you don't agree with them. It shows the level of your intellect.
STOP THE VIOLENCE.
Guys, this is your last warning. Quit the arguments or we're going to have to start handing out bans. We've already asked you a couple of times. Keep discussion to the DVD only
