This looks like a whole lot of fun for a single episode... I likey...
I love Family Guy and Star Wars, so it's no surprise that I loved this special. That special edition set looks great and I can't wait to get my hands on it. It almost makes up for Volume 5 not being complete.
that's just awesome.....im definately getting this version.
so its official they're doing Empire as well...so this probably means they're gonna do Jedi. but now, will they be doing the prequels as well? because despite the "hate" for them , there's just so much they could spoof and make fun of due to all the bad reactions. lol

Alright, this looks really awesome and I really want to get it (loving the episode and all), but how long until the inevitible Trilogy Box set, and then the "Saga" collection if they do the Prequels?
Sometimes, I really hate the DVD and what its done to the world...

You Listed Lazily to the Left.
YES, YES, YES!
This was probably THE BEST Family Guy episode and Star Wars parady EVER! This send up is hilarious. This box set is a MUST. I cannot wait to add this to the collection and erase the episode off my DVR. It's only been viewed about a dozen times.

I personally enjoyed Robot Chicken's Star Wars parody better.
You've gotta have something wrong with you if you spend twenty bucks on something you can watch on youtube.

The Robot Chicken Special re-used a few skits, and some of them weren't that great (the George Bush one being an example of both these problems). However that episode was great, and it was better because it wasn't just 11 minutes long like the rest of them.

So piss-poor quality and having to see it on a tiny screen is better than a clean view on your TV?
Just about anything can be found on YouTube, so if you spend $40 on a season set of whatever show, and they're on YouTube, you have something wrong with you?
Oh, and find me a working version of this episode on YouTube.

Loved the Chevy Chase cameo.
This was pretty hit and miss, just like everything on Family Guy lately.
If only only it were good enough to deserve such an elaborate release. It was more or less Family Guy characters speaking original Star Wars dialogue verbatim, with a few exceptions. I liked it okay, but it was something they could've easily sandwiched into a normal 30 minute show.
I agree that Robot Chicken's take was better (though it was more or less a highlight show of SW bits).

i can't believe there's actually audiences out there, for both this and robot chicken.
Yet you took the time to reply..

"Robot Chicken" is the bomb.

Wow, didn't see this coming....
Lame!
This was slightly funny, the Robot Chicken star wars episode was hillarious. Releasing this is a new low for Family Guy, Seth McFarland is working his way to being the official biggest sellout ever.

Yeah, that and the Simpsons.
I've never understood the attraction and fandom that these silly animated shows get.

I thought it was fairly unfunny and disappointing overall. Like someone said, too many lines and situations were verbatim out of Star Wars and overall it was just 'meh'. The funniest part wasn't even really a Star Wars moment--it was right at the end when Chris points out to Peter that Robot Chicken beat Family Guy to the punch on doing a Star Wars parody episode.
It was friggin' hilarious
And they are in pre-development for Empire Strikes Back this was so popular!

LOL, talk about creative especially with the trading cards that look like the ones released in 1977, yeah I think I'll have to splurge on the special edition, my fandom for both Star Wars and Family Guy demands it.
Wow! That special edition set looks really cool. I might dish out the extra moolah for it.
Man, this was so freakin' hilarious...I'm so buying this!
So how long is this episode by the way?
bad effin A!
tempted but Family Guy has been a bit rubbish lately.
Im going to wait till vol 6 comes out and it will have this on it

actually you`ll have to wait for Vol. 7 ...........Vol. 6 will contain the second half of season 5 and Blue Harvest was the firt episode of season 6.
gotta love how retarded they were by splitting the seasons on dvd like this.....go fox. lol

its listed as 48mins on some sites, a normal one hour show is usually 42mins give or take when on dvd so this explains their 6 minutes of extra footage listing.

Stewie playing Young Anakin would be great!
ThisSpecial Edition is going to look great beside all of my Star Wars DVDs. Can't wait to pic it up! Loved it...but know I'm starting to think that if indeed they are going to do all 3 originals that some Super Special Edition DVD set of all 3 will come out... Bah...I cant wait that long.. this is a definate 1st day buy for me.
Any predictions on who will play Boba Fett & Lando in the Empire Episode?
I know it sounds kinda silly but what about the CHICKEN for Boba?? He is Peter's arch nemesis.. or maybe even DEATH as Fett

No interest in anything Family Guy after Season 3.

Quote: The laughs come full Force when the Griffin clan puts a freakin' sweet spin on the greatest sci-fi saga ever told! With Peter playing the swashbuckling Han Solo, Lois as the sexy Princess Leia, Chris as an adolescent Luke Skywalker, Brian as a well-spoken Chewbacca, and Stewie finally embracing his dark side as Darth Vader, who knows what will happen. Filled with outrageous gags, spaced out droids and more intergalactic satire than you can shake a lightsaber at, this epic spoof is a must-own for every fan of Family Guy! The episode title comes from the code name used when filming Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
