decent movie
This was a good marvel movie. Defintally not the best one. It was nice to see that the movie focused more on the characters lives insted of just mindless action...but thats just it...there was VERY LITTLE action in fantastic four.

It started out great...
The film started out great and brought the box office out of its slump that seems to last forever. But the film slipped. It could have been bad word of mouth or upcoming films took away its spotlight but it deserved what it got.
I personally really enjoyed it and I'm glad I saw it for my birthday film.

i was going into this film thinking the worst, and well..I was surprised...not the best Marvel film, but it was good fun. But it's great to see Batman Begins is going to break 200 million
Lemme guess... this'll be a single disk version with some cool packaging. Then, in 6-9 months, they'll release a 2-disk SE. Any other takers?

I second that! but then again the Dare Devil cut was better then what was in the theathers..and I can't wait to check out the Punisher cut
"Each should set you back around $27.95." Who thinks of the prices? do stores take that big of a hit selling their DVD's for 20 bucks?

I expected Batman Begins to be great and Fantastic Four to suck.
I never thought it would be the other way around.

I heard this movie sucked. I suppose I'll have to see it on DVD to get the whole story, eh?
FANTASTIC FOUR (2005)
BE WARNED, this is gonna be a single-disc release with as much features as the MR. & MRS. SMITH did, commentaries and whatever. Then expect the 2-Disc Collector's Edition to coincide with Fox's Summer 2006 Big Budget films. I will ask for this for Christmas so I do not have to spend my money on it and then sell that copy and buy the 2-Disc Collector's Edition. But since it was a big film in 2005 and a superhero film it might have a slight chance to be a 2-Disc Collector's Edition on the first try but since its Fox don't hold your breath. As for the film it was decent. No where near the best comic book film but lots of fun. It was funny and the action scenes were cool. The acting was ok but the actors were just getting a hold of their charecters so thats understandable. Since it made decent money and will do great on DVD you can almost gaurentee we will see FANTASTIC FOUR 2 in theatres in late 2006 or 2007. And lets hope that Fox will take a lesson from George Lucus and learn from your past mistakes and listen to the fans and make the movie for them not the studio.
Good/Fun movie. Will ask for this for Christmas me thinks !!
Its more likely the 2nd DVD release will be a director's cut.
Sweet! This is my second favorite film of the summer. I will definately be getting this.

One the biggest surprises of the year IMHO.
I expected Batman Begins to be great and Fantastic Four to suck.
I never thought it would be the other way around.
What are you smoking?!? What ever it is I'll take a couple of key's. It must be pretty good shit to make you think The Fantastic Four was a better movie than Batman Begins. FF was good, but better, come on!!!! Next you'll say that Superman 3 & 4 and Batman & Robin were the best comicbook movies ever. Batman Begins revamped and saved that film franchise.

YUCK
This movie was pretty bad IMO. First off the dialogue and direction were terrible and the action...THERE WASN'T ANY! I mean whatever there was wasn't fun or thrilling. It was just there. The special effects were also out dated. The Human Torch effects were only decent. I was expecting to at least have some fun, and you know what...I DIDN'T HAVE ANY! Catwoman and Elektra were more entertaning than this and I'm serious. The sad thing is that this was successful and considering that most successful FOX Marvel release movies get good DVDs the first time around so will this. Unless FOX has completely gone insane.
PS- Batman Begins is Oscar Gold compared to this.

I have heard they were gonna do a Daredevil (not the director's cut, when it was first released). It would have 2 discs. So, be warned

Fantastic Four was a lot better than Batman Begins.
Batman Begins was OK, but they should've picked someone other than Christian Bale to be the caped crusader.
I didn't think Batman Begins was as good as a lot of people made it out to be. Honestly, it's a little overrated, IMO.

I beg to differ. Batman Begins was a great movie. Fantastic Four was okay, but it could've been better. F4 could have used some more action sequences in it.

this movies is ok, it is not really that great, really really cheesy at times and corny, it is defintley not that the best marvel movie
this is a skip

I could see The Punisher getting a second release for two reasons. It's a action movie, so I'm sure there's lots of stunt scenes that got cut off either because it was too violent or because it was getting of subjects, etc. and second of all, it would promote the sequel with maybe a trailer for The Punisher War Zone. As long as Travolta is not on the cover. I hate the region 1 cover. I was a bit disappointed with the movie, but I'm a huge Punisher comic book fan.
As far as Fantastic Four, I can't comment on it because I haven't seen it but, I heard that Jessica Alba doesn't have that big of a role in it!?

My thoughts exactly. I was extremely surprised that this was one of the most fun movies of the summer. But for those of you who say it was better than Batman Begins, you must have either:
a. Not seen all of Batman Begins (i.e. theatre was evacuated, tall guy sat directly in front of you, everyone talked through literally every second of it, you were annoyed by people kicking your seat, you didn't actually see Batman Begins, etc.), or
b. Seen a completely different, mind-bogglingly amazing, sure to make a revised AFI Top 100 Films list version of Fatastic Four-
-because Batman Begins is still one of the best movies of the year (I would say best, but my local thetre pulled Cinderella Man after about three weeks, so I didn't get the chance to see it
)

I don't know why people compare the two. I found Fantastic Four to be hella-cool. But Batman was a lot better. I actually liked the way Fantastic Four was done with the exception of some of the visuals. I like the casting too. Chris Evans as the Human Torch? Perfect. The Torch was always a bit of a smart-ass. I liked Julian McMahon as Doom. I don't think anyone else could've pulled it off. Very sinister even before he got his powers. Jessica Alba? Eye-candy only. Ioan Gruffudd? Way miscast. It's not that he's not a good actor, this just wasn't the part for him. As I said before, some of the visuals were pretty bad. Reed Richards stands out the most. I know when Richards stretches the only you can do it is with CGI, but it could've been done better., I feel.
"Batman Begins was OK, but they should've picked someone other than Christian Bale to be the caped crusader."
Wow, I couldn't disagree with you more. I thought Bale was great as Batman. I dosliked the action in Batman, not because it as bad, but because it was edited so fast it was hard to tell what was going on. Other then that, I thought it was the best Batman film out of all of them.

believe it or not, I found elektra to be one of the better marvel movies, along with The Punisher. Those flicks are underrated unfortuantly.
I also agree with some of the other comments...Batman begins was awful!

Batman Begins vs. F4 - my 2 cents
Fantastic Four was a pleasant enough matinee - but Batman Begins was better by a mile, IMO. Of the two, Batman was the one I was willing to pay to see a second time in the theater*. Christian Bale is making a play for becoming my favorite Batman actor (succeeding Michael Keaton in Tim Burton's first Batman film) and I will pick that movie up on DVD day of release. F4...probably wait for used copies to become available, if I add it to my collection at all.
(*full disclosure note-due to my disability I get in free at my local Carmike Cinema, but my second viewing of Batman was at a Showcase Cinemas IMAX near Cincinnati, where I had to pay.)

I thought this was pretty good I'd give it an 8/10 IMO it was better than Batman Begins which I would give a 6.5/10
I couldn't bring myself to go and see this after seeing Batman 4 times (twice free) and Revenge of the Sith 3 times, but I'll give it a rent. As for comparing this to Batman Begins, how can you? They are complete opposites. FF is by Marvel for one, and they are overdoing it with their upcoming movie slate. DC has bided its time, and took a HUGE gamble with Batman Begins, and it has paid off. Darn good movie if you ask me. Two, Batman is more of a darker, more violent type of superhero, sorry, TALENTED NORMAL GUY in mostly realistic situations. FF is comical, dare I say, more family friendly and brighter, with a story that is EXTREMELY far fetched. Don't get me wrong, the Marvel superhero movies are very good, but you cannot compare them to Batman. And if it wasn't for Revenge of the Sith, Batman Begins would be the Best Movie of the Year, IMO, having seen it 4 times and enjoying it more and more each time. I realllllly wanna know when BB will be released...
Well . . .
Fantastic 4 is no classic, but it's highly entertaining.
I have no interest in rushing into this purchase. Fox Home Entertainment's release strategy is pretty obvious these days. I will wait for the inevitable "All Access Edition" or Fantastic Four 1.5 Edition".....or whatever the hell else they decide to call it.

Did I not say that exact same thing several posts before? Ah well... better it's said twice rather than not at all.
Oh, and saying that FF was better than Batman Begins is a CRIME. Bale was the perfect choice for Wayne and his dark counterpart. The second I saw him in American Psycho (who plays a snobby rich boy with a dark, violent side) I instantly thought Batman, and thank the maker that WB thought so too.
