I liked Final Destination the deaths were creative. Yeah the acting was bad but it got a bit better. But acting isn't the point for FD3 it's the cool special effects. Don't you like that they didn't block out anything. I agree the widescreen cover looks silly. But I do like that they made it 2-disc with an option theatrical release or choose your fate. It's nice to see that. I'm buying it for $10
Anyone Else Think I should get Widescreen?
Thanks
Thanks for the help!...Even tho the covers are ugly...I guess I will live considering I own the first 2 and the first 1 only has widescreen and it still good to watch!
If you want to see everything that the film has to offer, then you should definitley get WIDESCREEN, Fullscreen cuts off many bits and pieces of the film and takes away from the viewing experience, so get Widescreen.
I have a question...I love Final Destination 3...and there is no doubt I'm not gonna buy it on the 25th. But I can't decide which version to get...WideScreen or Full...I have a full screen tv, but I heard Widescreen gives you more of the film and I want to be able to enjoy everything FD3 has to offer, and it sucks they give Full Screen a better cover. So if anyone can give me some advice that would be great! P.S. In my opnion, why cant they just make all DVD's with the choice of fullscreen or wide!
I hated this movie when I saw it in the theatre. Nothing NEW or special about it. FD2 is a great flick. This was just boring.
I did however view the DVD lastnight. The "Choose Your Own Destiny" feature is a waiste of time. Depending on which of the 2 choices you pick you either go the theatrical route, or the scene is basically shortened so the kill is not that far away.
Not worth buying at all unless your getting the set.

Does anyone know if the first final destination in the "thrill-ology" boxset is goin to be the holographic cover?
I LOVE THIS FILM! SO CREATIVE!
I need to see the region 1 DVD art, there has been no new info for ages.
Hmm, i'll be picking this up, yeah the cover art isn't all that great but the cover doesn't make the movie. I personally thought Final Destination 3 was a great sequel and it exceeded my expectations by a mouth full. The acting wasn't at its best but I will give props to Mary Elizabeth Winsted, Ryan Merriman, Kris Lemche, Amanda Crew and Alexz Johnson, they were fine in there roles and phew did Mary outdue herself as the lead. The deaths were by far the most inventive and bloodiest that we've seen in the series, the nail gun death was just a classic. The Rollercoaster accident was visually amazing, it could have been a bit bloodier but i'm not complaining, especially since we get a bonus disaster at the end of the film. All in all, excellent movie that deserved all the money it got in the box office, i'll be picking up the "Thrill-ogy" set.
july is right aroynd the corner
Something that has bugged me about this whole series.....if you are being chased by death....what is the point of running, I mean its the Grim Reaper for christsakes. Whomever the head honcho is, they should fire this reaper because he isn't very good at his job.
What a great menu... you see what you see in the film...the coaster... are they going to extend that sequence cuz I thought originally people were supposed to be run over by the tracks...
And more !!!
And more !!!
Oh and also, are they adding features to the first two films, because I've already bought them, the Scared2Death pack as well, and don't think I need 3 copies of the first two... da-am
I don't understand why they don't do it like the second and have one side full screen and the other side wide screen. Why should you have to buy two formats? Cuz of cover art. We get it, they're on a roller coaster. How cheap. They remade the seconds cover to show all the characters posing. And the first had the rotating skull to face effect on the original poster.
Quicktime isn't working on here for me, but does the menu look cool? I mean the second one had a kitchen...boo. The first had the characters with the s around them, I thought that was nifty.
And I don't think it should be 2-disc either, none of the other's had in the series. Infinifilm was a c**pload of extras for the 2nd film and it only needed one side. I think they just wanna scam us of money. And I think that's dumb, so what...
a) Change the cover (especially the Thrillogy cover, boo its always blue)
b) Make the second disc the other format wide or full
c) Change the cover or add the skull effect to the DVD cover making it holographic
d) Include more than just two featurettes, the whole Choose-fate sounds completely awesome if it's worked right, but can we get commentary from the cast too, and Shirley Walker? More features!!! DVDs nowdays need more, and if it's on 2-disc... come on. And New Line definitely should have the logo, and that lady who reviewed it does not need to sell it that badly. Make it smaller, and where's the tagline?
Anyone agree with me? E-mail me if you want FdPhreak@yahoo.com just for convo about this.

I hate that skull face Idea they had for he cover. It`s so ridiculous looking.
This film is absolutly brilliant 1st was alright 2nd was better 3rd was even better...probs the best one out of the lot....good death scenes including the sun bed , nail gun and I also liked the rollercoster scene, very good! I think the covers look quite good, red oen is better ...i hear they might be releasing a unrated version? I hate unrated versions all scams and hardly nothin more in just a few deleted scence they are c**p! but still I love this film and I am looking forword to black christmas remake with some of the cast from this brilliant film !!!
im gona b buyin both of these! lol
did I saaid I was getting this DVD?
well I'm so getting this one now... cuz I think this is the evolution of DVDs
im insane, just dont pay attention to anything I say lol :p

If you didn't like the second, I doubt you will like the third. All the movies follow the same basic plot outline. The only reason to watch these are for the "kill shots" which continue to get better, in my opinion.
Was this even any good? The first one was fairly good, but the second was garbage, in my opinion. I mean, the plot doesn't vary - people avoid a disaster in which they were supposed to die, and gradually start to die. I can't see how this one could've been watchable.

no, I think the dvd covers are both wicked might even buy a copy of BOTH! ... I love the film think it just about beets teh 2nd one and deffenetlly beets the 1st... I think this film is just brilliant and am suprised there is not an unrted version coming out like all the other con's....But I think this movie is very good and has many new and creative deaths ie. the sunbed, nail gun part the ending was very suprising comapred tot eh 1st 2...is this the last final destination ??? does anyone know??? thanks
Nice menu.
That menu is cool.
I'll try to pick up the "Thrill-ogy" if I have enough "cash..ogy"
Wait..

I like orginal for the story & death.

The menus look cool! =P
Those menus are trippy. Looks like they`d be featured in the Carnivale DVD.
Menus added for one of the interactive features. I'm trying to get hold of the main/special features menus too.
why not a digipack ? :/ and that artwork is fugly...
LOL. 'Thrillogy.'
Thought it was a great movie! saw it the day before yesterday and loved it.
Don`t own the previous films so I`ll probably be picking up that thrill-ogy. Cool name as well :D

That "Thrill-Ogy" box is sooooooooooo lame. What a stupid cover.
I want a new packaging for each movie, not just a box for the current ones. I need more info about this.

the first rocked, the second was okay... this looked mediocre at best.
I just hope the 2nd disc ain't the same disc as the bonus disc to Final Destination 3. Like the thrillogy cover but I already own the first 2 so i'm gonna skip it.

LOL! Yes! I am sick of that, too. Most of the names they come up with are stupid. Airplane - Don't Call Me Shirley Edition. BLAH!
I'm getting the Widescreen Edition. Even though I like the blue cover better, I would still like to see all of the picture. I used to not be able to tell the difference, but one day, I watched Freddy VS Jason in widescreen and then in fullscreen just to compare...and I immediately noticed the cuts on the sides, bottom, etc.
the ironic thing about FVJ...the full screen version does show more on the top and bottom....like for example the opening kill with that naked girl running in the wood...you see more of her but you also see an incomplete effect because the movie was meant for widescreen...
its the scene where freddy pops out of the magazine and slices kia's nose off...if you look or even pause at the right place..when the glove is slicing her nose...the arm and glove never reach the bottom of the screen thus showing its been added after...its funny to see..lol
but yeah despite not liking those "black bars" I do always buy widescreen versions because thats how its meant to be and I do believe i'll own a widescreen tv one day and you dont wanna watch a full screen movie there...i did that with Doom when I accidentally rented the full version and damn...its not fun..lol

I love Final Destination. A bit gory for my taste, but the stories intriguing with many suspensful moments.
I bought the two movie "Scared to Death" pack back in January that came with both movies, a FD3 preview disc, and a movie ticket to FD3. All for the low price of $16.99. How this "Thrill-ogy" pack can be more than $30-$40 is beyond me. S**tty cover art for FD3 though. Truly, truly disappointing. Hope they change it
Worst Nightmare, I have a question for you. Don't take offence or anything, but I saw Ultraviolet a while ago and I'm curious as to if you really loved that movie as your signature would suggest.
Wow that looks much better I think will have to buy the boxset.
Whom does one have to screw to get the Thrillogy cover, like the LOTR box?
Might pick up the Boxed set if its a good price, since I dont own any of the three on disc.
Ha! THRILL-ogy, how clever
Couldn't they think of a better name?
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore - untill the next sequel..."
Quoth the Raven, "Nevermore - untill the next sequel..."
I can't wait until the Thrill-ogy gets a UK DVD Release - it's the only way I'll buy all three movies cos I'm not buying the singles lol! The artwork really sucks like. Let's pray we get a better cover design. It's not hard surely lol?
Looks very disappointing, I saw the first one and didnt bother with the 2nd or 3rd one, thought I might catch them later but never got round to it. If the price is right I might just catch the 'Thrill-ology'...actually I wont, not after I typed that out...
Wow. $60 for the three movies. Someone at New Line needs a lesson in economics. You could buy the first for $15 (SRP $19.95) which include up to $10 in movie cash to watch part 3 in theaters. That means the third movie would cost you $30 (at least in SRP) in this set! I can't see many retailers discounting the entire set down to about $30 which would make it reasonable to buy, not that I'm rebuying the first two just to get this set.
Wow, the art is great!
For the record, the first was better than the second.
For the record, the first was better than the second.
Artwork now added for the 'Thrill-Ogy'
yeah and I'm getting tired of all of the unrated dvd's coming out six months after the original its ok if they both come out at the same time but, after six months most people already have the original dvd already.

It is a truely awesome film!!! :-)

The coaster is already leaking before Wendy got her premonition.

#2 followed the story on to a great degree from #1.
But #3 just looks like #1 with a roller coaster instead of a plane. So why bother?

I like that the kids on the coaster are no longer upside down.
Love the roller coaster 'thrill ride' look! The only I don't like about the cover are the words 'Final Destination 3'. Maybe the designers could've used different fonts or stylise it a bit more & a different color...but I understand why they chose this because it stands out.
I will not be surprised if the cover looks different when its officially released. I assume these are just preliminary designs.
WHY WOULD ANYONE PREFER THE FULL-SCREEN VERSION? You don't get to full feel of widescreen - extra views at the sides.
LOL..Thelma Adams is a lucky lady to have her name at the front of the cover! Why couldn't it be a normal fan? ANYONE could've said "A SUPER SCARY RIDE!". I could...hahaha. That's kinda dumb.
This movie is fantastic. From the opening credits, the film starts out full of colorful lights & a smart screenplay featuring a pinball. Anyone notice that the whole ambience of the movie from start to finish is SO MUCH different than previous 2 films? A job well done. Striking visuals.
There's more to the story than meets the eye. Look deeper! Yeah,I'm telling you there's an underlying message in the all 3 films.

I'll be buyin the Full Screen Edition. Am I judging it buy the cover? Yes. The blue cover is better.
I guess it shouldn't surprise me that they would come out with a box set, they already brought the first 2 back out in a set with a free ticket for this one. and with 2 dvds for this one I would think there would be more extras then that.
Lots of shiny extras, but the cover art is bleah.
aqs87 wrote: there's going to be a box set? It's inevitable...

I will buy the trilogy box set instead.
C**ppy cover, but decent movie. Too bad it was more of a parody of the first two films.
Horrendous cover art. This reminded me of the time I came home after a long night of drinking and threw up all over the painting on the wall. There is a slight resemblance.
this movie was terrible, I enjoyed the first one for it's somewhat original concept and the second one for it's creative kills but this one was just bland and repetetive.
I like the quote from US Weekly.
Only death I liked was the nail gun. Movie was s**te.
seen this one in the theater and can't wait to buy it. think I'm gonna go with fullscreen though.
I loved this movie! By far the best in the series in every aspect! I'll but it! The features sound excellent and yay for DTS! Glad it got a 2 disk edition!

Thank you for not releasing a bare bones edition and jumping right to the 2-disc special!
LOVED THIS FILM! SO Happy with the 2 disc!! <33 dont mind the cover art but the poster arts better!! thatd be nice if there was an unrated cut ^_^!

Wow, I didn't know they were re-releasing Black Hole, oh the cover just looks like that? I see. Stupid cover.
They better make that art shiny to match the other 2. I don't mind the cover.. I just find the "2-Disc Thrill Ride Edition" part mighty lame.
I LOVE this saga. And this one is still excelent.
Bad covers, I prefer the blue one. But well, the movie it's what matters, and looks plenty of extras! An interactive movie! And a deleted scene.
I haven't got any of them yet, so I think I'll wait for the Trilogy Box.

The 1st and 2nd films were very good in my opinion, but I have not gotten around to buying either. I heard that this 3rd one was so laughably bad and was told to avoid it, but I'll give it a rent, and perhaps I will buy the trilogy box set when that is released. But from the sound of things, I may just pick up the 1st and 2nd cheap somewhere and forget this one.
And that cover is ridiculous...
And that cover is ridiculous...
The first one was great, the best one outta all of 'em. The second one was okay, and the third one was good. The best of the two sequels, in my opinion. Yes, HORRIBLE cover, but that's all it is. A cover. The movie is still awesome, so I don't care about the cover that much. 2 discs sounds cool! That means there'll be plenty of extras.
I thought the first one was decent and then it just shot straight downhill after that (this one and the 2nd being horrible). Cover art is bland and boring and why 2-discs? Its not like this movie warranted that many extras.
Final Destination 2 was a really fun film, although I`d never buy it. Its always good to see the Final Destination films to see the crazy ways in which people get killed off, som I`ll rent this one. I dont expect it to be as good as the second though, and that cover is hideous. FD1 and 2 had pretty sweet covers.
Why they didn't have the coaster upside-down (ala the poster) is beyond me. At least that was interesting!
I'll probably buy it. As soon as they change the cover.
what's the betting EIV will screw us over in the uk and most of the extras will be missing..?
Honestly, considering this is a New Line Release, I'm surprised that they're not sticking the Platinum Series banner on this. I don't even see the New Line logo on the spine. I think the art would be so much better if they'd make it blue, get rid of the "2-disc Thrill Ride Wide Screen Edition" thingy and add the New Line Platinum Series banner.
C**p cover, but good to see the 6.1 coming through!!!
This hasn't hit Aussie theatres yet....
This hasn't hit Aussie theatres yet....
I loved FINAL DESTINATION 3! It was a blast! Not quite as great as the second but better than the first. I'm glad it's getting a 2-Disc DVD, but the Widescreen art is ugly. The Fullscreen art is pretty decent though, especially compared to the Widescreen art. But there's no way in hell I'd get Fullscreen. So I'll just be stuck with the ugly cover art. Oh, and if it wasn't obvious, I'm buying it.
I saw this movie on relase day and liked it being a HUGE fan of the first two I will buy this. the cover art is about a 5/10 but calling it the 2 disc thrill ride edition just plain sux!!
The first one is a genre masterpiece, the second was over-the-top salty goodness, this one was pretty good too but definitely the weakest in the franchise. I still like it enough to pick it up when it comes out. The first 2 were packaged pretty nice with some decent extras as well so that's nice for those that are fans of these movies like me.
A little more detail on the 'Choose their Fate' feature:
Quote: The DVD allows viewers to watch the original, theatrical version of the film as presented in theaters, or exercise the “choose-their-fate” option which offers all-new, alternate sequences and dozens of possible viewing combinations

Just another case of someone really liking the release poster and conforming everything else to fit into it. I can say I don't like the bottom right corner at all since it draws attention away from the rest of the cover. Couldn't they just crop it and put the quote across the bottom? The twisting writing is pretty much ugh as well. The teaser poster was better and fits a DVD cover much better. This is junk. Maybe a fan will make a custom cover and I can throw this one out.
it looks good ... I've seen one and two but never bought them ... its probably good to rent ... I might c the third
The cover art just sucks. The other two had some simple, understated covers with the "New Line Platinum Series" banner on top -- this one just emulates the one-sheet art (this is a 2 disc edition and yet the "Platinum Series" banner isn't on it?).
As cheesy as the cover already is they should have pushed it further and made the cover lenticular. The faces could have changed from skin to skulls. Let's go cheesy all the way!!
Oh God, there are so many funny things in this cover. A. 2-Disc Thrill Ride Edition?! What kind of SE title is that?! B. The guy in the front looks very constipated and weary of his career.
Cover reminds me of that famous Paul Ross quote...
Man this movie was a great addition to the series but dang is that cover ridiculous.
I have never seen "Final Destination", "Final Destination 2" or "Final Destination 3" so I will netflix all of them on DVD. Its nice to see the third film getting such an elaborate release, but that cover is pretty ugly.
Absolutely loved this film, best of the 3. 1st was s**t, but the 2nd was very good. HORRENDOUS cover art, I'm so disappointed! But I can't wait to pick this up. God knows when the R2 will be announced.
the best one out of the series!
July 25th is too far. I swear New Line and Touchstone always have the longest dates for dvds.

Didn't hold a candle to the joy that was FD2. THAT was a great popcorn flick.
I thought the second one was pretty good. I skipped this one at the theatres.
YAWN!
Yup, awful cover. Overall, the film was okay. An average popcorn flick.
ugly cover for a disappointing movie. the music and sound was amazing though
The cover art's hidious, but the features and DTS-ES rule.
I dont know about that DVD cover.
