it was entertaining, a nice 'anti-typical' christmas movie but I didn't enjoy it as much as say, Elf, when I first saw that.
I'm not sure if I'd drop $30 on a BRD copy of it though, maybe I'll just wait and get it cheap.

What the hell is going on with Paul Giamatti's head on that cover? Photoshop strikes again!
Won't pick this up. Xmas with the Kranks + Deck the Halls = Fred Claus.

I almost forgot about this movie completely.
Horrible cover art.
May rent from the Redbox, as I don't know if I'd offer this film anything more than $1.

this took a LONG time for a release! I remember this from way back.
Considering that most films get rushed treatments on DVD/Blu-ray this took a rather long time.

Hmm... gee I would have NEVER guessed it came out close to Christmas. (Sarcasm). Not to bash on the film but the extras are light. Warners Bros. you do the same c**p every year. Little to no extras but yet widescreen and full screen. Despite the release and extras I will check out the film.

That's par for the course for holiday movies, studios feel it will sell better if they release the DVD around the holidays, even if that means waiting a whole year to put the DVD out.
Who wants to buy a Christmas themed movie in March?

I know that is pretty stupid. But they didn't release Unnacompanied Minors until August of last year. But anyways, yes that is stupid. Will check Fred Claus out for sure.

good point, never thought of it that way. Regardless of getting a home video release for this holiday season its bound to tank.

I always find it weird when they wait until next Xmas to release it.
Wouldn't mind seeing this although Vince Vaughn always seems to play the same character....

I believe there's at least one recent exception to that rule: Surviving Christmas was released theatrically on October 22, 2004 and landed on video a mere two months later on December 21st...granted that was an utterly abysmal film, many times worse than both Deck the Halls and Christmas With the Kranks combined. That garbage actually sucked the Christmas spirit right out of me that year. It took several days to recover from that tragedy...Seriously, I bet you all forgot that movie even existed until I mentioned it....
BTW, as far as I'm concerned Fred Claus may be worth a rent, but if there's one Christmas-themed film I'm getting this year, it's gonna be Elf, because I just read that it's coming to BD on October 28th.Sweet!

Didn't this come out like two years ago? It's about time it came out on DVD.
Nothing weird about the timeframe as far as I'm concerned. As others have said, who really wants to buy a Christmas movie in the middle of the year? I certainly wouldn't. Another exception to the rule though was "Bad Santa" which I believe was released during the summer months. As for "Fred Claus", I saw it in the theater last November. Wasn't bad. Wasn't great either for that matter but I'll probably pick it up to watch with the family.
Yes, cover is horrendous. Give me poster art over poorly done photoshop fantasy pics ANY day. Vince's right hand looks like a canned ham.
Slated by critics, film turned out to be much better than I had been led to believe. Kathy Bates character is a waste of screen time.

You mean the "mid 30's, immature, life of the party guy that hangs out with under age girls and is drunk most of the time" character.

I guess some of us have forgotten Jurassic Park 2. Didn't see Vince play that role. Don't limit an actor becuase you saw him in let say two movies ( Swingers and Wedding crashers) It's like saying Harisson Ford always plays the rebellious hero...see mosquito island.
Hmm, It Was Alright Better Than I Expected, But I Don't Think It's Worth A Blu-Ray Buy. I May Pick Up The Reguar DVD.
I'll be getting this DVD. It'll be weird watching it on newly released DVD after the seeing it in the theater a year ago.

What did he play before Jurassic Park 2 though? Oh yeah, he was in Swingers. After that? Old School. I guess Anchorman would be an exception too.
Mosquito Coast (not island) was a great film, I wish Harrison Ford would've continued taking more original roles, rather than the same old stuff.
