Freddy vs. Jason (US - BD)
Warner Home Video also announces a Blu-ray release of this recent horror
Title: Freddy vs. Jason (IMDb)
Starring: Robert Englund
Released: 8th September 2009
SRP: $28.99
Further Details:
Warner Home Video has announced a Blu-ray release of Freddy vs. Jason which stars Robert Englund, Monica Keena, and Jason Ritter. The disc will be available to own from the 8th September, and should retail at around $28.99. Extras will include commentary by Director Ronny Yu, Robert Englund and Ken Kirzinger, deleted/alternate scenes including the original opening and ending, a featurette gallery, storyboard and production art galleries, publicity/promotion vignettes, a music video, and trailers.

Quote: The slicer versus the slasher? Two titans of terror going at it mano-a-machete? They’re gonna kill each other a lot! The horror (and wicked fun) begins when Freddy realizes he can’t haunt dreams because folks no longer fear him. So he enlists Jason to do a little killing on his behalf on Elm Street. Presto, the fear is back – and so is Freddy. One problem: Jason isn’t about to stop offing people. And another: Freddy isn’t about to let Jason rule Elm Street. This means war. Freddy Vs. Jason. Winner kills all.

Are Warner still region locking New Line titles? Not that I'm hugely bothered about this one, but it will probably dictate how ANOES is handled.

More c**p from Warner or New Line or whatever.....
thats awesome, i knew not buying the canadian only release would be a good idea. although with the prequel coming next year....would it be wishful thinking to hope they may release a nice blu box set of the whole series including this one? because thats one box set id have no problem double dipping on.
with all the blues and reds in this, i bet it'll look fantastic on blu-ray. i'm also glad to see they kept the dvd art though its the same as the canadian only release....i hope some canadians dont accidentally pick up the wrong one. of course if they dont care about extras, they wont care but yeah.

All the recent Canadian releases by Alliance are garbage anyway. They are rushed, barebones, and cheap looking. I plan to skip them and wait for proper US releases. I tell you, Alliance is a curse in this country! i wish teh US studios would just release in Canada and they would just fade away. . .

I would presume so, because (for example) the UK rights to New Line's library is still owned by E1.

Not necessarily. Warner took over the rights to Last Man Standing, Long Kiss Goodnight, the Critters series and Loaded Weapon in the UK, and the new editions rolled out just a couple of months ago. FYI, if anybody's interested, the Warner editions of LKG and LMS are far better than the EIV ones, which are now finally 5.1 Anamorphic.

EiV isn't it? I thought E1 were that new outfit who are releasing Franklyn (among others)?

don't worry, we only get the Canadian release, this won't be released in canada, because, as someone already mentioned we get completely screwed ALL the time. Mostly by Alliance, but even TVA who both just seem to LOVE to ruin DVD transfers and completely omit extras
don't even get me started on our horrendous bilingual cover art. i haven't bought anything from a store in years, i just amazon everything so i don't get screwed with these c**ppy canadian releases.

AWESOME!!! Was just gonna get this from Canada but glad I waited. Now bring on Nightmare On Elm Street.
Not a bad movie but not worth the double dip.
