What is with them and putting the Part V mask on all the covers?

I can't recall a house that big or important in Part V. Either way, all of these sequels suck, but in their own special way.
4 and 6 are far and away the best of the series.
Well, I was hoping we would get the uncut versions of 4 and 6, but it looks like that dreams just got squashed... Ah well, maybe in a zillion years from now Paramount will have learned their lesson.
the house in part 5 is the halfway house... with the 2 slutty twins
Weird that they are using part 5 mask for all of them. I do like keeping the style of the original posters and only modifying them slightly but I think Part 5 could do without the house and Part six should have had a graveyard setting with the mask.
I guess these releases are coinciding with the DVD/Blu-ray release of the remake -- but I love "Jason Lives." It's the only Paramount-produced 'Friday' I like.
That artwork sucks. Nothing like the original one sheets. Ofcourse for those of us waiting for the blu-ray releases of 4,5,6 will have to wait six more months. Talk about milking these releases....
SWEET covers!!!!! Man I am glad they changed them up. I didn't like the new covers for the first 3. I am glad to see some deleted scenes on there and that alternate ending should be fun. IS it just me or do horror movies always make for great special features? Even the lesser movies still have good features, i think its just the honesty to them
so they announce parts 2 and 3 for blu-ray...and now these 3 for dvd. i guess in about two months they'll announce the blu-ray of 4,5 and 6 and then the dvd of 7 and 8 and then a couple months after that the blu-ray of both and then a few more months later the "complete paramount box set" or something.
sneaky b*****ds aren't they?

The From Crystal Lake to Manhattan box set is good enough for me. Picked up the Deluxe Edition of Part 3 for the 3D effect a couple months back. I don't need to upgrade the others.
So here's the big question, when is the big Deluxe Edition boxset going to be released????

Hear, hear!

It is similar to the part 5 mask, but not a exact version of it. 5's mask had blue markings, not red.

Although it may be the halfway house, I believe the slutty twins were from part 4.
I am also sticking with the box set I have of all of Paramount's movies.

True, but I meant that they just took the Part V mask and photoshopped red marks instead of blue ones.

6 is the BEST in the series in my opinion cept for maybe 1 and 2.
But i'm waiting for blu.
But i'm waiting for blu.
when i read "Friday the 13th" i thought about the remake DVD release... but meh... i wouldnt waste money on movies i already have... and truly u dont care about the deleted scenes and extra stuff, RE-releasing these movies it's another way to get money on their pockets =) soo, thanks, but no thanks
The covers aren't using the Part V mask. The marks on the Part V mask are green. The marks on these covers are red.
That said, I'm happy with my box set. I'm not going to be upgrading all the F13 movies.

The cover for Part 6.....that "guy" on the cover was nowhere NEAR this movie.
I should know; I've seen it hundreds of times.
Ah well. At least it's better than my bare bones copy. Will pick up 4 and 6

Green? I have no idea what movie you were watching...
And again, it's the same mask, with the marks just photoshopped to red. So in essence, it's the same mask. Heck, they didn't even change the color for Part VI, but did for Part V. Either way, it's still the wrong mask. Jason himself never had marks on his mask that were that large. Those are unique to the Part V mask.

I have a love for this series, and hope to pick up a big box set someday, would love to have all un-cuts but this one might just have to do. I've seen some of the originals here and there, but ever since I saw the remake (and just plain HATED it), I have went back and watched all these over again, and would gladly take all and any of them over the remake any day.
These cover releases are the absolute sh**iest artwork I have ever seen. My seven year old niece could photoshop something scarier than this. The artwork to the U.K. releases were a bit better, although subtle. I own the blu-ray releases of Friday 2 & 3 and Paramount isn't exactly going to any extreme to remaster the film prints. Friday 2 is o.k. with some grain & dirt, but, Friday 3 is down right horrible. Dirt, grain, artifacts, & other c**p are rampant throughout the print even though the film's audio is in Dolby HD. I can only assume the audio for these releases are 2.0. Thank you, Paramount Home Video for totally fu**ing up yet another one of your many DVD releases. A**holes.
My advice, wait for October 2009, when you can find these in the 5 dollar bin at your local Mal-Wart.

The covers are okay... Could of been better. Jason Lives is my favorite of the six DVD covers so far. Hope The New Blood and Jason takes Manhattan comes out later this year. The Final Chapter is my least favorite. I'd be surprised if there were to be a boxset later this year since theres already one out there.
Jason on the sixth movie cover looks awful... skinny... and overall looks like a cheap halloween costume =)
So which do you prefer? The 4th one is just plain horrible.

I took everything you said with a pinch of salt after reading what you said about the covers for the UK releases.

I said they were a bit better than this s**t. I didn't say they were awesome.
