It's about time. This movie, while not a great movie in itself, was pretty badass. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

YAY!!!!! This was one of the best horror films I saw on the big screen.
Sweet
Now for The Unborn. Its taking forever.

the first 10 mins were good up until they rolled the credits then it turned to c**p.
One of the worst film's i've ever seen. Michael Bay licks cock.
Further details added. Will bring you highres artwork shortly
As a longtime "Friday the 13th" fan, I really enjoyed this movie, especially in the theater. Really looking forward to seeing the unrated version!
Likewise, I truly hope that the Unrated Version blows me away!! This movie moved at break-neck speed!! I thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Interesting that they combined elements from the first three movies & came up with this!!!
Love the artwork.
missed this at the theaters, will buy the 'Killer Cut'...cannot wait
Loved this movie. Love the artwork. I'm gonna get the bluray, but, I think I enjoy the art on the standard DVD better. Hmmm...Anyway, this film was like two movies in one. The prologue itself was like its own movie, then we get the title, then the second movie starts. Really enjoyed it. Only two disappointments were something to do with Danielle Panabaker (not gonna spoil it) and the blonde w***es "blah" encounter with Jason (not gonna spoil what happens.) Can't wait. And only four days before my birthday. Hmmm...Wonder what I'll be asking for.
Wow I hate the Blu-Ray artwork. Should have stuck with the poster art.
I loved this movie, far more than I should have, and will buy it immediately. Very glad that the uncut DVD is pretty cool looking, despite the unnecessary machete slashing through it. BluRay art is hideous.
Hated this movie, wish it would have been just another sequel instead (Jason X capped off at 2010, still another year left for sequels). It's sad that I am begging Hollywood for sequels anymore, I would take them over all of these remakes of movies I love. Nightmare on elm street is coming up next, just watched the original last night, and I just don't see how they could "improve" on such a great movie (IMO). I'm only 22 and all of my favorite horror movies growing up are all pretty much remade already. I just don't get it, come up with a new franchise, make a sequel, anything. The old ones gave me nightmares, these "updates" only put me to sleep.
someone please change the Blu-Ray cover.... ick.... please, anything but that.... he looks like a balloon.
The best Paramount-produced "Friday" out there, ties with "Jason Lives" actually (not a great movie of itself, but it was fun watching with a crowd). And it's nice to see NL and WB not making this a flipper disc and sticking to OAR releases only.
But the extras seem pretty thin. Didn't Fuller promise a lot more DVD extras than what's gonna be on here?

i can't wait! i really liked this movie! and i'm VERY happy the regular DVD cover is awesome! the BR cover sucks total ass!
Friday the 13th" is about the best "Friday the 13th" movie you could hope for. Its technical credits are excellent. It has a lot of scary and gruesome killings. Not a whole lot of acting is required.
in response to all the hate that the Blu Ray art is getting, it seems as though it is only a slipcover, and I really hope that underneath it lies the much better DVD artwork.
This remake was laughable.

I'll just have to second that, couldn't have said it better. Hoping this "featurette" has some length to it.

Some die-hard "Friday" fans gripe that it's not a true "Friday" film, only more like a TCM sequel. I have to heartily disagree with that, it's perfectly fine entry to the "Friday" franchise, it has all the hallmarks (gore, sex, Jason in the mask, nudity, brain-dead victims, and a "final girl"
.
And as much as I really, REALLY don't like remakes (Zombie's "Halloween" travesty being the ultimate nadir), this was by far much better than the first three Paramount-produced movies. And I loved the ending's nod to "Carrie" and the original "Friday" film (which resulted in a lot of cheers from the older Jason fans at opening night), so I'm at a loss as to some fans' apathy towards Nispel's remake.

mc_serenity, i totally agree w/ you. i'm not sure how old you are (i'm 38) and i prefer and really ONLY acknowledge the "human", running, fast and brutal Jason. MANY younger people (i learned this on the IMDB FRIDAY 2009 board) ONLY know and acknowledge the "zombie", omnipotent, omnipresent and lumbering, able-to-walk-slow-and-STILL-catch-up-with-the-fastest-runner-in-the-world Jason. many younger FRIDAY fans STILL don't even realize that Jason ran (and ran fast, parts 2,3,4).
this movie brought the franchise back on track. Jason in NY?!! space?!! an effing worm?!!! ANYONE who thinks those installments are better than THIS movie.....well, you know....

SO HORRIBLE, such a misfire, i dont know what it is with new horror movies but i think the problem lies in the characters. At least the older ones had fun characters. Cheesy yes, but they seemed to fit their mold. In other words u could picture them ACTUALLY being like that in real life. These new ones are just stereotyped. Plus these are kinda bad by default. Seriously WHAT ELSE CAN U DO????? This franchise has just been played out. At least batman and james bond were taken in new directions. I just dont see these movies getting better, unless they go back to square one and just be plain goofy. This one tried to throw in the stupid plot about the missing sister, who cares??? It's just plain boring.
The year's biggest disappointment - at least for me. It looked great and showed such promise, but was a huge letdown. Oddly enough, as much as JASON X gets bashed, that was at least much more entertaining than this. I expected more from the guy who brought us TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (2003). I'm still going to give the "killer cut" a look, but I doubt it will make much of a difference.
Sad that audiences don't usually go out and see the great horror movies in droves. Then people complain that there are no good ones. THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT (2009) deserved to do the business this did. It's easily the best "horror" movie I've seen this year, and should remain one of the best by year's end.
