I've not been impressed with any of these new covers.
The logo, especially the 'part V', 'part VI', 'part VII' ect. looks poor. The photoshop Jason, with incorrect mask and outfit wasn't a great idea either.
To top it all off, the Twin Towers missing from part VIII is a poor show. They may not have been prominent in the film, but they were around then. It's the same as their removal from the recent 1979 King Kong Paramount rerelease.

I guess that means the Blurays for 4-6 will be released then too.
(2 & 3 blurays were released this week with 4-6 on DVD)

I think I'm gonna buy The New Blood and hope that Paramount decides to release a box set with all the films by years end.

ummmmm....how can they remove them when the whole ending takes place right on top of them? i know that sounds all smartass-like but i'm serious, what did they? digitally change them into other buildings or something? lol

Part VII's DVD cover is personally my favorite.
Hopefully this will give them time to make a Hockey Mask Shaped Box set for Christmas.
It is nice that paramount is gives these films the editions the fans deserve but for me, the series ended with part 4, titled "The Final Chapter".

Thats what I want to know, I haven't heard anything like this and I would have defiantly heard if they did...

I did say at the top of my post, I was commenting on the covers.
They've been removed from the cover art on F13th VIII, they were very prominant on the original VHS art, as they were on the original Paramount King Kong DVD cover, not from the films themselves.

So the big question is, when will the Boxset of the entire series will be released? In time for Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas???
I like part VII art cover, for now is the best of all parts but im still waiting for "Jason Goes to Hell" de lux edition =)
Jason Goes To Hell is owned by New Line. No Deluxe Edition DVD for that one.
Jason Takes Manhattan was my absoulte favorite Jason movie.
Ah, the two worst ones. I'm trying to finish my Parts 4, 5, and 6 DVD reviews right now. I lose interest after six, and pick it back up with the ridiculousness of X and FvsJ.
Is there any word on the Blu-Ray releases of the rest of the series?
I really hope to continue getting the blu-rays...at least until part 7.

love the 7th cover, it's about time these got decent dvd releases. Now I await the Box Set.
I heard a lot of the deleted footage is missing sound and i forget were a lot of the deleted scenes on the 2004 box set?
Lar Park-Lincoln from Part VII's DVD cover shown in the knife screaming reminds me of the Brittany Snow screaming on the cover of 2008's Prom Night DVD.
I don't think that's Lar's reflection on the knife of the cover of Part VII but I do agree with the cover of 2008's Prom Night comparison. Also reminds me of Jason X.
Not a fan of the artwork with the mask from Part V in these editions but I'm still buying them regardless. Can hardily wait!

We can only hope for a full box set....although very doubtful....darn red tape
