Quote: Based on the bestselling book series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin, this sprawling new HBO Drama is set in a world where summers span decades and winters can last a lifetime. From the scheming south and the savage eastern lands, to the frozen north and the ancient Wall that protects the realm from the mysterious darkness beyond, the powerful families of the Seven Kingdoms are locked in a battle for the Iron Throne. This is a story of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honor, conquest and triumph. In the Game of Thrones, you either win or you die.

I'm not this harsh on it, but season 2 was a step down. I liked it for the most part, but I don't know what they were thinking with the Daenerys storyline.
Daenerys' storyline may have been weak, but the ending to it was the anti-Padme and I couldn't have been happier.

I have to agree with some of the other comments, S2 wasn't as good or enjoyable as the first season.
They really should be releasing BEFORE christmas rather than after.

Buying it. Still one of the best shows on television, no matter how much they drift from the page and piss off the purists.

All you naysayers, wait till season 3.
And it's better than most of the c**p on FOX, ABC, etc.

First season was great, rich with plot and characters, subtle and well paced.
Second season... Second Season was a complete mess that wasted everything earned on the previous one.
Production values are still impressive and most of the cast is a joy to watch, but this made no sense and led nowhere.
