Even though I think both Steve Carell and The Rock, er, Dwayne Johnson are a little overrated, maybe I'll still give this a shot......

Biggest surprise of 2008 for me. Trailers all made it look pretty mediocre but I thought it was quite funny and cool.
Where is the widescreen version?

The 2-disc and Blu-ray releases are widescreen
The 2-disc and Blu-ray releases are widescreen
And what about us who want a single-disc widescreen??!!
F**k you, Warner!!
F**k you, Warner!!
This movie was actually pretty good! Looking forward to this release... except I still CAN'T believe that they're still making fullscreen DVDs...
Meh I will give it a rent.
Well I thought it was going to be funny. It was average at best. Now I'm not bashing on the film and it really wasn't that bad. It was hilarious and had good action. For those who have a conesus of buying it or renting it. I'd say rent. Overall it was funny and had some good parts.

Despite of the full screen/widescreen versions and the lack of extras warners Bros. is one of the best studio companies. Look what movies they've taken. The dark knight, Get smart, Watchmen, Speed racer, and ect.

62% funnier for both 1 disc and 2 disc, I guess the 2nd disc is pretty boring. LOL
I will give this a rent because of Anne Hathaway, but probably buy it after I see it somewhere really cheap/used on Bluray. (I expect to like it.)

I can, some people just don't know how many people are out there that don't have widescreen or think the full screen is the right choice (I had my Uncle tell me, why waste screen - I always get fullscreen. They don't get you see more of the film that way. Me, I bought it knowing that, and knowing I would have a widescreen someday and didn't want to rebuy). I would suggest fullscreen will start becoming (more) rare after the TV signal switch to digital next year. I know that is selling a lot of widescreen TVs, well before the recession hit hard.

big fan of steve carell, enjoyed this movie & will most likely pick up the 2 disc, artwork is decent except for the 62% thing in the corner
I really wanted to see this until I heard such horrendous reviews. Hopefully I'll rent it...however, I'm loving that they put laughs in quotes. Kind of a bad move...
Good film very funny 2-disc edition for me.
This was a little disappointing, but Steve Carell had nowhere to go but up after "Evan Almighty." I'm gonna have to think about this one.

Agreed. Plus the 2-disc artwork is better than the 1-disc. The Rocks face is covered up and his gun is covering up the other guys face on the 1-disc artwork.
For those that have seen it, how does it compare to the classic series?

Wow, the single disc is ONLY available in Full Screen?
That's a first...so if you rent it from Blockbuster Full Screen is your only option?

It was pretty awesome...& I see an MTV movie award for best kiss in this movie's future...& for those who have seen it, you know what kiss i'm talking about
haha
& why not 100% more laughs, why only 62%? THat seems too specific...haha

62% more laughs - how scientific!
Nice flick, but there's no reason for me to ever see it again.

And why is it 62% more "Laughs" and not 62% more Laughs (no quotes)? Are they not really laughs at all, perhaps they are merely chuckles, giggles or snickers.?
BTW, remember in the early days when a new DVD was about to be released, we would get new cover art and it was only ONE image maybe two for the front and back.
Now for every "hot" new release coming down the pipeline, there is an entire page full of images covering the fs/ws/2 disc/3 disc/blu/2 disc blu so on and so forth. It's gotten so crazy and a little frustrating.

i like steve carell and this looked good.
i'll give it a rent.

i like that 1 disc art...i didnt realize there was actually a 4 person version with everyone else getting their face covered..cute.
I was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was a blast in theaters, and I think everyone involved was fantastic.
Love the Blu art, and glad they stuck to the poster art. I like the full-screen art better, though. They should switch 'em.

SWEET!!!!! One of the best comedies of 2008 for me! Definitely picking up the 2-discer!
This is probably one of the worst schemes ever. The digital copy thing that they're doing was stupid, unneccessary, but altogether liveable. What about the people who don't want a 2-disc special edition. Now they HAVE to buy the more expensive version of the movie. Unacceptable.
Doesn't matter to me, in this case, as this movie pretty much sucked. But without a doubt, they'll be doing this kind of c**p with all their movies. It's a good thing I USUALLY buy two discers anyways.

I really enjoyed this flick -- it came out a day before my birthday and made it a good one. I too wish the single disc art was on the 2-disc, but it won't make me hesitate a second from picking it up when it hits stores. Looking forward to a sequel.
i like the cover for the 2 disc edition
A surprisingly very entertaining and enjoyable film all around. I will be getting the 2-Disc, and nice artwork all around as well (assuming that 62% tag is just on the advertisement and/or slipcover).
Carell's my favorite celeb, but this movie stank.
62% more laughs? Did they add another half joke in there...
Yay!!! I loved this movie. I'll buy. :]
Saw it in the theatres and it was HILARIOUS!!!!! Steve Carell is THE MAN!!!!! Very good movie too!!!
