No kidding, they're already planning the sequel.

nothing special but i will pick up the standard DVD. im not interested in a extended cut, i thought the film was long enough as is.
Blah....the movie was awful......why does this need a 2 disc? Tlak about a disc of torture.
Well, a film can be a creative flop I suppose, but the term usually refers to financial success these days.

You don't make $200 million dollars if you're a POS. I agree it had problems, but it was a fun time.
Since when is it ok to start editorializing news releases anyway? Are you TRYING to shoo us away?
I went to the Matrix thread and it strangely does not say "WB releases one cool movie and two steaming piles of utter trash on HD DVD". I wonder why that is?

meh, it was okay. The flaming skull looked awesome, but the acting story sucked. if there is a sequal definately no Nic cage and different director
Because I wrote it and I like all three of them. By the above standard both sequels were successes, being that they grossed over $400,000,000 in total.

I said it was a flop dramatically in the comments section - am I not allowed to have an opinion on a film? I thought it was rubbish - and I love Nicolas Cage films usually, as I'm sure other staff members will testify!

This movie was good, not great. Don't know why they're doing 2 versions. Should be interesting though.
I thought it was okay -- really awful in spots (particularly when Wes Bentley is on the scene and trying to emulate Stephen Dorff's character in "Blade" ) but then really cool in spots, such as the relationship between Cage and Mendes. The scenes that didn't involve Cage turning into the skeleton were most interesting. I would say it is a disappointment and did deserve some of the criticism leveled at it. It did have a great surround track -- maybe the DVD will have DTS?
BTW, if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend a rental first. You'd be fussing at Sony if you did blind-buy this movie.
I won't pick it up... maybe a used copy for $5.

movie was alright was no spider man or x men level of fun. wish it was rated r though. but hell i was mulling over to get this or not but with another 17 min added to it i will buy it for 2 disc.
Loved this movie, can't wait to see the extended cut.
It was either Wild Hogs or Ghost Rider, guess who won?
WILD HOGS!!!! And I actually liked it, I wasn't really tempted by Ghost Rider, really, I wasn't...

I liked "DareDevil" but "GhostRider" looks so goofy.
The Matrix sequels are some of the worst big budget movies ever made.
I haven't seen this yet, but a 2 disc set? Sweet. I love comic book movie extra's. Bring it on.

c**p movie,,it did well cause there was nothing else for it compete against. the timing of the release was perfect.teens have very little interest in oscar nominated movies.
Saw the trailer for this and ran the opposite direction when it was released.Horrible!
Far from brilliant maybe but a fun 100 minutes nevertheless. The cgi was fairly decent and there were some nice camera shots
(the introduction of Blackheart in the desert was nicely eerie). Nic Cage was actually quite good in my opinion, as was
Peter Fonda (in a much too small part), Eva Mendes and Donal Logue were both good as well. I mean Ghost Rider is a bit of a
2nd tier marvel property anyway (although I always enjoyed the book when I was a kid)- I went into this thinking "ok how bad is this going to be?" and was nicely surprised by the film.
Although I did snicker a bit when it opened with Sam Elliot's narration which was so much like a dark version of "the big lebowski" opening (kept waiting for him to mention "the dude"
.
Better than Fantastic 4 (God, I hope the sequel is better than that s**te-fest was) and better than daredevil (this one actually has a plot and no embarrassingly bad "let's wire-fu with the blind guy I just met in a playground!"moments).

It was a fun ride. The ending could have been better though
This movie was terrible, I thought Nic Cage couldn't get any worse after the Wickerman remake but then this movie came along. I might give the extended edition a chance because it could turn out like the Daredevil EE and be a really good movie.
Poor people paying for this drivel.

Then explain "The Matrix" sequels. They both made over 100 million and they were horrendous.

This movie was ok with some fun parts and visuals. I found the villans to be pretty weak, and some of the direction (mostly with Mendes) was pretty weak. However, much better than Fantastic Four but definitely not as good as Johnson's Daredevil, especially the director's cut! I'll probably pick up the 2-Disc tho.
"Daredevil" sucked too. Ben Affleck has about as much charisma as Steven Seagal.
If this was better than "Fantastic Four" or "Elektra" than I think I might blind-buy the Bluray. Because other than those two I've found every other Marvel movie worth owning (I think...am I forgetting anything? Daredevil Directors was awesome!).
I'm going to pick up the 2 disc edition, this movie was fun to watch. I thought Mendes was awful, Cage was pretty good and Elliott was great. The movies was a mixed bag overall, some parts really good while other parts were pretty awful, still enjoyed it.
I liked all 3 Matrix movies, don't get the hate for them
