Just bought a used copy of the 2-Disc Extended Cut today at a Hollywood Video stand at the mall.

Nah, it wasn't the worst superhero film and neither was Fantastic Four. Batman Forever and Batman & Robin were the two worst superhero films despite that I did like Batman, Batman Forever and Batman Begins.

The artwork for the extended edition looks great, same goes for the movie itself. Can't wait to see it.

You obviously haven't seen the director's cut. But even the theatrical cut of Daredevil is better than Ghost Rider. Ghost Rider isn't much of a film, the only thing worth watching are the visual effects, but they aren't that good to begin with.

agreed but at least Seagal was good in action scenes, Daredevil was a joke.
Ghost Rider was watchable, I wouldn't buy it on DVD though.

Is it Snowing on the extended cover?
Eva Mendes just have to get a razzie award for this. It´s her worst performance ever.
Okay they messed it up before fixing it then...'
i think they "fixed" the artwork for THE FOUNTAIN Boboi
The artwork for the extended edition of the film looks great, but the movie still sucks. I have a hard time believing the added scenes will change that.
Nice artwork on the 2 disc EC. I'll definitely be buying it.
Awesome artwork
Badass art for the 2 disc, worth the purchase alone!
Oh Jesus...a bad ass looking cover for the EC and people are b***hing because "it needs more work..."
Sometimes less is more. I love this new artwork. Totally fits the theme of the movie than a bunch of floating heads.

I love both covers but I like the CE more, looks cool
The EC artwork is okay....better than the single disc artwork. It could use a litle bit more work though.
I don't see why people are raving about the cover for the 2-disc Extended Cut, it looks very plain to me. The one-disc cover art almost copies the one-sheet artwork, and it looks a lot better than the EC cover.
The artwork for the extended cut is great, some of the best superhero/comicbook dvd artwork in a while.
I Hate the 2 disk set artwork i hope they change it.But i'll buy it anways i liked the movie
Now thats some great artwork on the extended cut. Maybe a blind buy depending on the release week price.
That extended cut artwork is fantastic! I'm definately getting that edition.
Artwork added for the extended cut...
Cover somehow makes me think of the horrible Crow: Wicked Prayer.
I just wish the cover would focus more on Ghost Rider then Cage and Mendes.

This looked Fantastic 4 horrible from the trailer alone. What cinema garbage.
Nice coverart, I hope the 2-Disc is at least as good.
I like the part of the Ghost Rider, not much about the part of Blaze to clowny but still go for the 2 disc cut i hope that Mark Steven Johnson goes for the cover just like the extended cut of daredevil i like that cover art, simple but classic in a sort of way..
Nice cover art.Not great but good fun movie.
I'll be buying the 2 disc edition.
Not a bad cover...
...just waitin' for the 2 disc art now. Bet it's better.

I really like the cover.
Artwork is not so great on the single disc. Hope the 2 disc will look a little better. I thought the movie was pretty decent, I may consider picking up the 2 disc.
Artwork for the theatrical edition artwork added. Still awaiting the extended cut, and Blu-ray art.

I enjoyed this flim, I'll begetting the 2 disc. It has it's good and bad moments. But over all a fun popcorn flick
I just got back from seeing the movie myself, and it surpassed ALL of my expectations . . . every single one of 'em! For once, Nicolas Cage seemed to put some real energy into a performance (and I'm not a Nic Cage basher, I loved "The Weather Man" thoroughly), and he seemed to be having a blast playing an apparent comic book hero for him. Eva Mendes did surprisingly well, as I'd heard nothing but bad press about her in this. The villain Blackheart was a bit of a prissy boy, but I think it actually sort of worked for the character, even though it made him lack proper menace. And Sam Elliot is God, so I don't have to say anything about his role. Peter Fonda was Peter Fonda, and it was great seeing him in such a spicy role.
The main flaw(s) of the movie, aside from the lack of a really strong villain, is that it seems a tad underdeveloped; by that, I mean that this movie actually DOES need a sequel, so we can see what Ghost Rider is really capable of! With the director's "Daredevil," I felt it stood on its own and didn't require any further entries. But Ghost Rider certainly does, in my opinion.
I can't wait for all these superhero extended editions! "Spider-Man 2" (an acknowledged superhero classic), "Fantastic Four" (woefully underrated), and now "Ghost Rider!" If this extended cut is every bit as satisfying as the director's cut of "Daredevil," it's gonna be a-w-e-s-o-m-e.

I don't think I'll buy it but it was worth a watch. As long as you don't take it seriously. I was laughing from about 5 minutes in almost all the way through. It was that good kind of ridiculous fun you need every once in a while. Also, it made lots of money because there was nothing else out.
Extended Edition for me also
Twas not bad, twas not great.
Maybe they will improve on it all if the sequal really gets made (like it looks Fantastic 4 is appening to look better)

I liked this film and can't wait for the extended cut.
I love Nick Cage's take on the charater, Peter Fonda was great. Eva Mendes was a waste. Sorry But you can't replace a blonde in the comic book for a latin girl. It's like having Robin Hood played by flawed english accent...oh wait.....never mind...

I enjoyed ghostrider. I never read the comics either. I thought it was more fun then both daredevil and fantastic four. It also reminded me a bit of the original robocop movie.
there will be an extended edition for both spidey 2(april 17) and fantastic four (June 5). part of the reason that most people did not like FF was that it was cut too much out of it.

Yeah, I thought it was decent; certainly not bad enough that it wasn't even screened for critics.
below average movie.
The characters are wasted by a mediocre story (and franckly, anyone who knows Blackheart and Mephisto from the comics HAS to be p****d of by the way they look in the movie).
Mendes is beautiful and in danger... And that's about it for her implication in the story.
This man is a poor director (it seems DD director's Cut was the accident, not the theatrical cut...).
Cage has rarely been worst as an actor (it's no parody dude... Didn't you know ?!) and no one seems to notice the dead rat he's wearing on his head !
Most of the 17' minutes will take place during the teenage years of Blaze and, when not, will focus on his relationship with Mendes, because the movie was shot as a pg13 therefore there is little "pseudo-r stuff" to be included back in the movie (and the only FX shots not included in the movie where the failed ones).

Based on the trailer this looks so dull, average and seen it all before. Only Mendez perked my interest and not even she is enough for me to bother. This is made by the same person who gave us Daredevil, enough said. That was rubbish!
You must be wary when a film has to be held back a year and "fixed up".
For me this is another one of those that belongs in the "great idea that didn't really make it" basket

I didn't think it was that bad, but it was not even close to decent. The only thing that I thought was worth paying for was the Resident Evil Extiction teaser.
O.K. film overall. Gets cheesy in some parts, but, overall a lot better than "Hulk", "The Fantastic 4" & "Daredevil" & falls just shy of being on par with "Hellboy".
My strong advice RENT before you BUY. Especially if you're into the blu-ray & HD-DVD discs.

I am a sucker for extended cuts and have enjoyed MOST of the Marvel Comics movies. Only one that was horrible to me was Fanatastic 4. Great cast, bad director, weak script, and poor execution. I do hope the 2nd is better, but I won't hold my breath and will wait for DVD on that one too.
The Daredevil Director's Cut is simply a joy. It's amazing how much that movie stands out from the sheer mediocrity of the theatrical cut. It almost rivals X2 and Spider-Man 1 & 2 in my book...

If I could eat this movie I would... just so I could push it out my bumhole into the toilet and flush it away, gone forever like little Nemo.
I'm going to pick up the 2 disc edition, this movie was fun to watch. I thought Mendes was awful, Cage was pretty good and Elliott was great. The movies was a mixed bag overall, some parts really good while other parts were pretty awful, still enjoyed it.

If this was better than "Fantastic Four" or "Elektra" than I think I might blind-buy the Bluray. Because other than those two I've found every other Marvel movie worth owning (I think...am I forgetting anything? Daredevil Directors was awesome!).
"Daredevil" sucked too. Ben Affleck has about as much charisma as Steven Seagal.
This movie was ok with some fun parts and visuals. I found the villans to be pretty weak, and some of the direction (mostly with Mendes) was pretty weak. However, much better than Fantastic Four but definitely not as good as Johnson's Daredevil, especially the director's cut! I'll probably pick up the 2-Disc tho.

Poor people paying for this drivel.
This movie was terrible, I thought Nic Cage couldn't get any worse after the Wickerman remake but then this movie came along. I might give the extended edition a chance because it could turn out like the Daredevil EE and be a really good movie.
It was a fun ride. The ending could have been better though
Far from brilliant maybe but a fun 100 minutes nevertheless. The cgi was fairly decent and there were some nice camera shots
(the introduction of Blackheart in the desert was nicely eerie). Nic Cage was actually quite good in my opinion, as was
Peter Fonda (in a much too small part), Eva Mendes and Donal Logue were both good as well. I mean Ghost Rider is a bit of a
2nd tier marvel property anyway (although I always enjoyed the book when I was a kid)- I went into this thinking "ok how bad is this going to be?" and was nicely surprised by the film.
Although I did snicker a bit when it opened with Sam Elliot's narration which was so much like a dark version of "the big lebowski" opening (kept waiting for him to mention "the dude"
.
Better than Fantastic 4 (God, I hope the sequel is better than that s**te-fest was) and better than daredevil (this one actually has a plot and no embarrassingly bad "let's wire-fu with the blind guy I just met in a playground!"moments).

Saw the trailer for this and ran the opposite direction when it was released.Horrible!
c**p movie,,it did well cause there was nothing else for it compete against. the timing of the release was perfect.teens have very little interest in oscar nominated movies.
The Matrix sequels are some of the worst big budget movies ever made.
I haven't seen this yet, but a 2 disc set? Sweet. I love comic book movie extra's. Bring it on.

It was either Wild Hogs or Ghost Rider, guess who won?
WILD HOGS!!!! And I actually liked it, I wasn't really tempted by Ghost Rider, really, I wasn't...

Loved this movie, can't wait to see the extended cut.
movie was alright was no spider man or x men level of fun. wish it was rated r though. but hell i was mulling over to get this or not but with another 17 min added to it i will buy it for 2 disc.
I thought it was okay -- really awful in spots (particularly when Wes Bentley is on the scene and trying to emulate Stephen Dorff's character in "Blade" ) but then really cool in spots, such as the relationship between Cage and Mendes. The scenes that didn't involve Cage turning into the skeleton were most interesting. I would say it is a disappointment and did deserve some of the criticism leveled at it. It did have a great surround track -- maybe the DVD will have DTS?
BTW, if you haven't seen it yet, I recommend a rental first. You'd be fussing at Sony if you did blind-buy this movie.
I won't pick it up... maybe a used copy for $5.

This movie was good, not great. Don't know why they're doing 2 versions. Should be interesting though.

I said it was a flop dramatically in the comments section - am I not allowed to have an opinion on a film? I thought it was rubbish - and I love Nicolas Cage films usually, as I'm sure other staff members will testify!

Because I wrote it and I like all three of them. By the above standard both sequels were successes, being that they grossed over $400,000,000 in total.
meh, it was okay. The flaming skull looked awesome, but the acting story sucked. if there is a sequal definately no Nic cage and different director

There ya go, I've changed it. Heh
You don't make $200 million dollars if you're a POS. I agree it had problems, but it was a fun time.

I went to the Matrix thread and it strangely does not say "WB releases one cool movie and two steaming piles of utter trash on HD DVD". I wonder why that is?

Well, a film can be a creative flop I suppose, but the term usually refers to financial success these days.
Blah....the movie was awful......why does this need a 2 disc? Tlak about a disc of torture.
nothing special but i will pick up the standard DVD. im not interested in a extended cut, i thought the film was long enough as is.

No kidding, they're already planning the sequel.

Missed this, but was gonna wait for DVD anyway. I think it's great that they are releasing the theatrical and extended cuts on the same day.
