Why no Blu-Ray release? I was on the fence about buying Ghostbusters on Blu-Ray because i figured there'd be a 2-pack with 1 and 2 by the holidays on blu-ray. I guess we'll see.
that's been out in Australia for a while. and was also welcomed with angry yawns
Already owner of the R4 which includes greek subtitles
LAAAAAMMME. How about a director's cut of Ghostbusters II? Or at least a SE with all of the deleted scenes. If any movie is begging for that treatment, it's GB2.
i'm a huge ghostbusters fan, but there's no way i'm buying this, i already have the 2 disc dvd set, definitely not worth the re-purchase, if it was a BD upgrade for both, then i might be sold. i think id rather get the marshmallow man bank from the SDCC
This is all like trying to turn you away from the fact that 2 has not been released on Blu-Ray. I still want this for the stuff, but If they release something else before part 2 on Blu-Ray. I'm calling them >
.
Also, I think this is a release because when 1 was released on Blu-Ray it was going to have a toy, slime, and the second movie. So maybe this is like an apology. But why didn't they release the f**king second movie on Blu-Ray???

As much as I want to support Ghostbusters I won't be getting this. Until GB2 gets released with some worthwhile special features my old dvd will do fine. Still haven't bought GB1 on blu yet, though I will when its at reduced price. The reviews it got on PQ weren't that complimentary.
Pass

Ditto!!
While the Marshmallow man is cute I just can't see any reason to spend almost $20 or so more dollars for a few trinkets.

This is garbage, NOTHING new? Wow.
I don't need some dumpy figure of the SPMM. I haven't even seen Ghostbusters II yet. Where's that Blu-ray?!
I'm so buying this
We really need a special edition of Ghostbusters 2. I just bought the soundtrack in it's original long box packaging the other week, and I've been listening to it nearly non stop! This movie, though not as good as the original, desrves the same respect!
What about the collectible book that was with the last box set?
I don't know why you guys are complaining about this one. We needed a better one than the c**ppy two set with just a book.
so the slime that comes with it, i assume it'll be that same slime many toys had in the 80s? cuz that stuff was messy and gooey. i had some with a TMNT toy set and my word. lol
Where's G2 on Blu-ray?
WOW!!! For only $40 I can buy the exact same box set that I've owned for years and get a couple of cheap toys in a box that I don't have room for. NO THANKS!
'Who you gonna call to buy this?' Not me!!!
I bought the Ghostbusters BD from Amazon for $10. While I can understand the complaints about the PQ it was better than the DVD. Plus, it had all the extras from the original release and more. I also want GB 2 on BD though.
I was hoping the DVDs would be better.
You KNOW that slime is going to go bad the day you open it.

But it's got a Stay Puff Marshmallow Man!
Sony can never ever seem to release the Ghostbusters films the way it should be released. F**k the sh** toys. How about striking a new print of the movie from the original negative, getting it digitally remastered & press some new blu-ray copies. Jesus Howard Christ, how hard is it, Sony, to take one of your biggest sellers & have a proper release. The film print thats used to make copies of the DVD, is the same damn print thats been used since 1985 when it first hit video! WTF!! There was so much grain on the blu-ray release, I thought I bought a box fu**ing Wheaties.
This is getting ridiculous.

Aren't they about to do the third movie and then of course produce another box set in the future?
No sale. I'm waiting for this set to be a blu-ray version. Then I'd definately pick it up. And when they do, GBII better have a commentary, at least one featurette of decent length (20 to 30 minutes, at least), trailers, tv spots, and deleted scenes. Oh, and if they could throw in the MST3K-style shadow commentary from the original dvd, that would be great !
