Great! Just Great! Transformers at the end of october, GI Joe now on the 3rd of november, and STAR TREK on the 17 of Novembr. And to top it off, HARRY POTTER the 8th of December. And that's thankfully without the pleasures/pain of LOTR (the pleasures/pain depending on point of view...hehehe pleasure to your eyes, pain to your wallet)
Awesome movie!
Must buy.
Must buy.
Oh yeah, it's a an early release : November 3rd !
Can't wait
Can't wait
Can't wait. This was the movie I thought would be the worse this summer, but it ended up being one of the most fun and entertaining
I'll pass. Looks like c**p. Actually, it may not be so bad, except it's called G.I. Joe, which makes me not want to see it. If it weren't a G.I. Joe movie I may have watched it. Sounds stupid, I know, but I can't get over it being G.I. Joe. It's not really my kind of movie anyway.
Was this suppose to be parody?
The 2009 "Street Fighter"
The 2009 "Street Fighter"
this movie was so ridiculously over the top, the special effects were terrible, and it was completely unbelievable, but damnit it was a badass good time at the movies.
Great movie? Oh lord. Let me not get into it.
And 'Maximus' I agree 110%, the CGI/Special Effects were not terrible but horrendous. They feel the need to contradict themselves with a featurette called: "The Amazing Visual FX and Design of G.I. JOE". LMAO
No matter how bad Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was, it was an instant masterpiece compared to G.I Joe

Hands down the worst movie of the year.
LOVED this movie, so glad it's coming out so quickly! What's weird is that it's coming out BEFORE Star Trek, Angels & Demons, Up, Harry Potter, etc...movies that came out WAY before this in theaters. But whatever, this is great news, only a month wait now!
This movie is the biggest piece of s**te. I saw this for free & I still want the time I wasted back.
The acting is atrocious. Dennis Quaid was more alive in "Jaws 3-D".
Marlon Wayans sucks. Period. I never hated a performance so much.

Worst Movie Ever!!!
I own both of the 'Mummy' flicks (3 doesn't exist in my world) and 'Van Helsing' on Blu, so I may add this blindly to my collection because I enjoy Sommers' work.
I have a feeling the cover art will be pretty cool...should they decide to use maybe the soundtrack cover or one of the posters, that is.

Really enjoyed this one. Brainless maybe, but more than exceeded my very low expectations (based on the reviews it looked as if it was gonna be pure torture). Concerning the SRP's, there seems to be a problem. Amazon has the SRP's at $29.98/$34.98/$39.99 for the 1-disc DVD, 2-disc DVD and Blu-ray respectively. Can you please check those Tom?
Insultingly bad film. Even Snake Eyes wasn't cool. What a waste of money, space, brain cells, pixels and celluloid. My childhood is destroyed forever.
Meh.
This movie was very 50/50 for me. I wasn't expecting a true-to-the-original cartoon and/or comics, but this left a lot to be wanting.
Spoiler I truly hated the Snake-Eyes/Storm Shadow origin/dynamic. Why even mention that Snake-Eyes isn't mute, but only took a vow of silence? IMO it would have been better left unexplained that he's INCAPABLE of speech due to injury, or even have a flashback where Storm Shadow cut his throat on his way out after killing their master. I know it seems trivial, but it sets the rest of Snake-Eyes' story to fail mode. I'm not expecting this kind of realism, but what branch of the armed forces accepts someone who CHOOSES not to speak? Ugh.
The nanomachines bit was topical and relevant, but I was surprised they didn't touch on the real-life ABSOLUTE HORROR that is the Gray Goo scenario. And if I were Destro, I'd be pretty perturbed if someone rebuilt my face into metal as opposed to flesh, although it was a very predictable scenario. And screwing with or even revealing the "Commander"'s origins I felt was a bad move.
In any case, I'd watch a sequel, as long as they brought on some old faves like Shipwreck, Flint, Lady Jaye, etc.

What no exclusive Special Features for the BD. That is weird was hoping for a cool PiP feature or something like that
Occasionally has some fun moments but for the most part this was just painful.
Can't complain about Sienna Miller in leather though.

Oh God, STAY AWAY! This film was painfully, horrendously, dull and terrible. I knew that walking in, hoping the experience of watching it with others would save it, but no. Had no fun or a "badass time at the theaters" with it, but I wish I did.
This movie sucked.
Well, it wasn't perfect, but I still liked it a lot more than Transformers: ROTF, and I'm still getting that so......
lame sounding extras
This movie was good! It was a mindless action flick finally done RIGHT!
Another bomb of 2009. Overloaded with fanfare like Origins, Transformers 2, and Drag Me to Hell, mediocre scenes and action sequences fell short. Definitely a pass.
I agree
I totally agree. It was the rich man's Ultraviolet. Ultraviolet had bad FX but was incredibly pleasurable with great action and great eye candy thanx to mrs. Jovovich. Will buy or either ask for the blu for Christmas.
I'm usually all for mindless action; but this had absolutely no entertainment value for me. Sommers is known for less than authentic effects in his movies, but these were by far the cheapest looking SFX of the year (close with Wolverine in that department). GI Joe as a global peace keeping force totally shot to hell what GI Joe was about. Sorry if glorification of a specialized U.S. fighting force is too much for the world to handle, should have renamed this something else if they wanted to cut the balls off.
1/3 of the movie worked the other 2/3rds didn't.
I really didn't like the movie at all. The Special Effects were really bad and the story was pretty bad. Why make the Baroness good? Why explain how Cobra Commander came to be? The only thing worth it was the Paris sequence.
I had the toys when I was young, but I never saw the cartoons. I just managed to catch the animated movie before I saw this. I won't be picking it up, but I'd still give the sequel a chance. Unless of course, the sequel goes AWOL, like the next Superman movie!

I'm not interested in this "C.G.I. Joe" movie .... pass
