Yeah. It was unfortunate that the first one came out around September 11th 2001. It would have done much, much better... but as you say... we all had other things on our minds. Anyway, I'm thrilled that "THE GLASS HOUSE" was so huge on home video. It was one of the biggest rentals of the year (outgrossing "A BEAUTIFUL MIND"!).
I liked the first "GLASS HOUSE", a good stylish thriller. Good cast... DIANE LANE, LEELEE SOBIESKI and good cinematography too.

Oh my god! I should have known this was coming as THE GLASS HOUSE is a Sony movie. It wouldn't be as big of a deal if the plot wasn't exactly the same! Oh, and that subtitle, THE GOOD MOTHER, is just horrendous and laughable. They need to drop that pronto. Just another STV sequel. They were fun at first, despite always sharing the same damn plot as the originals, but give them a rest already! Though I'll still probably see this one anyway. I'll be able to take it home free from work so it's not like I'm supporting it. Though even if I had to pay to rent it I probably would, because I'm a sucker for these movies, even if I've been complaining about them lately. They need to make THE FORSAKEN 2 damn it! I really enjoyed the first and if Kerr Smith's TV show this fall ends up getting cancelled then I'm sure he'd do it, as he wouldn't have much else to do, and the other guy already isn't doing anything, so since it was from Sony I say bring on a sequel! But get the same actors back otherwise don't do one.
What awful cover art too. It just screams STV! The shot of the girl is the worst! And that Mommie Dearest reference is such a pathetic attempt at attracting customers. And there's not even a 2 on the cover. I think they should have had one. In fact, they should have called it THE GLASS HOUSE 2 and dropped that stupid subtitle. In the spot it's in it really just makes it look like a tagline anyway. So it looks like the movie is just called GLASS HOUSE.
Anyway, the reason it's getting a sequel is because the first did decent enough at the Box Office for coming out around 9/11/2001, where the Box Office was kind of slow because people had other things to worry about, but it made up for it in rentals, where it did really well for itself.

I will have to see this for Joel Gretsch - the star of one of my favorite shows the 4400. I don't have high hopes for it so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised and entertained.
Well, apparently the first "THE GLASS HOUSE" movie made more money on home video than "A BEAUTIFUL MIND"! So obviously it found it's audience.
Also DIANE LANE is a bigger name now than back then.
Still, this sequel does sound almost identical

I rather see another DTV sequel to Starship Troopers.
WTF!!!???
Why on earth did someone even want to make a sequel to "The Glass House". How did this even seem like a goof idea? Does anyone even remeber the first movie, and how is this even a sequel? OMG, I really cant believe I am actually hearing about a film called "The Glass House: The Good Mother". The movie world is in serious trouble.

This sounds exactly like the first one.

I take it that you haven't seen Mommie Dearest then...where's my wire hanger...

No
Hmm...seems pointless to me.
I didn't mind the first Glass House. I'm certain this one 'ill be crud.
Honestly, Angie Harmon can do better than this DTV c**p. Then again, why bother remaking (oops, "sequelizing"
a thriller that wasn't that popular in the first place?
