Man, what a film. If you're gonna quit acting, do it out in style like Clint. One of the best films of 2008, made my top 5. Of course i'm gonna pick it up!

Excellent film completely snubbed by the Academy in every way imaginable. Little light on the extras, but I wasn't really expecting anything elaborate knowing Eastwood never does commetaries but still a definate purchase.
fantastic movie and fantastic art. however...is "widescreen edition" necessary? does that mean there is a fullscreen one coming?
No limited 3-disc with the score by Clint's son? Disappointing.
imo Gran Torino is the Best movie of 2008! The box office returns over $200 million worldwide agree. This should have recieved plenty of Oscar nominations. Will buy the DVD for sure!
Great movie. can't believe it got snubbed for all the Oscars. loved it, probably gonna buy it
THIS should have won best picture. Total joke that it wasn't even nominated.
I loved this movie, I'll definitely buy it. But I can't believe there's no 2-disc edition.
A great movie that snobs in the academy overlooked. At least it was a success proving that Clint can deliver if he has the right material.
Sadly, I missed this film in the theater. Whether he's acting or directing (or doing both), Clint Eastwood is THE MAN. I can't wait for the DVD release so I can watch, what is no doubt, a masterpiece.
Well I'm glad it says widescreen just to make it abundantly clear though I don't know why they still flood the market with useless full screen discs that people who "don't like black bars" will buy. Then in 5 years they buy a widescreen TV and complain all over again about their collection.
My real question, is where is the frakkin Blu-ray?!

What a horrible movie. Without a doubt the worst movie I've seen in 2008. Clint plays a stereotypical racist, the Asian boy overacts every scene and Eastwood singing a song about his car at the end made me question as to whether this entire movie was a large scale practical joke or not.
I think I'd buy "The Spirit" on DVD before this, and that's saying a lot!

I didn't even see the film, and I know it's better than most of the 'Best Picture' noms (let alone the winner). How do I know this - it's freakin' Eastwood! What was the last film he directed that wasn't brilliance?

Even better than I expected. Not big on the cover art though.
I loved the film. I'd say it's the best film that I saw this year, after Valkyrie.
I'm surprised this wasn't given a better dvd treatment (ie. more extras), considering it was such a commercial success at the box office.
It's still a great film that should've been acknowledged by the Academy. Can't wait to pick it up.

I loved this movie and it's a pick-up for sure. I was pretty floored when it didn't get a nomination at all from the Academy. I was shocked when it didn't get nominated for a major award but not even a smaller award. As for the coverart... love it except for the bar on top. Who needs a fullscreen anyways? Although I do know someone who owns a 1080 widescreen tv all jazzed up with top of the line sound system but they continue to buy fullscreen or rather they don't get a c**p which version they buy and pick-up whatever they see first.
It was okay. But not the best film I've seen. Its pretty predictable. Nothing new or to write home about. But a okay flick.
Brilliant film, excellent art. Too bad though that it`s only a 1 disc version...
Just noticed "not authorised for sale outside of the USA or Canada".
Interesting....
Interesting....
Worst Nightmare, Warners has had that notice on the backs of their R1 DVDs ever since they started releasing them in 1997.
