Gravity (US - DVD R1 | BD RA)
WB has a release date for the Sandra Bullock science fiction (faction?) hit...
Title: Gravity
Starring: Sandra Bullock
Released: 25th February 2014
SRP: $44.95, $35.99, $28.98
Further Details:
Fresh off 10 Academy Award Nominations, Alfonso Cuarón's
All three releases will include the following extras:

Quote: Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalski (George Clooney) in command. But on a seemingly routine mission, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalski completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the darkness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

Thanks for spoiling it for me, dude.

matt86, i watched the movie and your suspicions about it are pretty spot on. i understand why people would like the movie but i found it tedious and it's just one "insurmountable" thing after the other that happens to Bullock's character. again, it's fine if you liked it but it just wasn't for me.
and it's quite funny and telling how some of you are accusing those who DID see it and didn't like of being "wrong" or not having good taste. not every movie is for everyone. get over yourselves. not everyone is going to like this movie. i found it boring and i usually love slow burn shows/movies (AMC's The Killing...VERY VERY slow burn and i love it like that). the problem i think with GRAVITY was that Bullock (who i don't dislike) is not interesting enough to have it be just her. she was bland and boring. IMO. Clooney was playing Clooney but it actually works in this movie.

Two people floating around space for 90 minutes describes this movie perfectly. It looked great in 3d in the theater but aside from visual effects offered absolutely nothing.
Seems like you know VERY little about movie making then. I wouldn't argue with you about your opinion.
Gravity is a marvel in film-making. Apart from story, the direction alone is so hard and so next level. Very difficult film making, and then add character development without have more than 2 characters, thats hard to write but its done here.
This movie is just amazing.

I wish u didn't spoil that part, but oh well.
I watched the movie 3 weeks after it released, so it was hyped a lot and I felt a little underwhelmed by it all.
It is a nice movie, but I felt it was overhyped. And any movie that Spoiler kills off George Clooney mid-way through can never be a great movie!!

The DVD cover art isn't bad. But I prefer the one-sheet artwork used for the Blu-ray editions.
Thought the film was just ok. Wish it had more Clooney in it.
Matt, there's actually a lot going on in this film. I understand some people being really concerned that this will just be Sandra Bullock floating for 90 minutes (much like Ryan Reynolds in the movie Buried). The thing is the studio actually had the decency to market the movie in a way in which the audience can decide to see the movie based on whether or not they're interested in the premise, as opposed to cutting a super action-packed trailer that spoils every set piece, every surprise, or whatever it costs to get "ADD audiences" in seats like most movies do.
Gravity is a wonderful example of how a movie can be simple in it's story and still amaze you with it's storytelling.
Like BigPotterFan said, I feel sorry for anyone who missed it in theaters (although it's being re-released), for anyone who dismisses it based on thinking "it's a critics film", and anyone who went to see it so hyped from good reviews that it couldn't possibly ever have met their expectations.

"Gravity" is an incredible film. Those being negative simply for the sake of gaining attention by their negativity shows just how out of touch real art people are today. This is a film about an individual not giving up hope under the most intense of situations and continuing to try and survive when the odds are totally stacked against them. The sheer tension of her predicament is almost in itself another character of the film. Besides the highly impressive visual effects, the simplicity of the basic story offers a chance for deeper character study.
Look I'll gladly go in with an open mind and maybe the theatrical experience will enhance it, but that shouldn't be all the movie has to offer. You did put up a valid point and trust me, i'm not one of those "ADD Junkies" that seems to accont for 95% of the movies today. You mentioned Hustle and wolf. Don't get me started on those. It's just that this honestly doesn't appeal to me. Maybe I'll rent it.
Hes right. This movie was awful. The praise for this movie just shows how out of touch with real art people are today. Two people floating around space for 90 minutes describes this movie perfectly. It looked great in 3d in the theater but aside from visual effects offered absolutely nothing.
matt86 wrote: Honestly i have ZERO desire to see this despite the excellent reviews. To me, honest to God this just seems like a movie critics love to love. I mean it's just two people floating in space for 90 minutes? I'm sure some will find deeper context, but to me it just looks boring as hell. What's the story? Effects can only do so much for me. I'm sure if Steven Soderberg directed this then critics would love it all the same. Some directors just seem to always get a pass.
WOW. You wrote so much c**p about a movie you haven't even seen. This movie is not about two people floating in space for 90 mins. Its about them finding a means to return to earth. Its got incredible suspense and simply fantastic performances. Its more thrilling than pretty much every movie about people shooting each other and it doesn't even have violence or vulgarity. This movie is an experience that just shouldn't be missed. It's has brilliant story telling. Your eye is always on what the director wants it to be on, despite shots that don't cut for 20 minutes. Its by FAR the best movie I have seen this year. It blows American Hustle, Wolf of Wall Street, and some other really great films this year out of the water.
I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't get to see this film in theaters, in 3D. If a person could have only seen one movie in all of 2013, Gravity should have been it. That's how good this movie is.

Very much looking forward to a rewatch of this one. The score was great too!
the BR cover is great the floating Bullock cover is horrible IMO. i watched this movie today and i wished i liked it but it was barely ok. not a bad movie or anything and i can see why people liked it but it just wasn't for me.
I actually love the DVD cover, wish it was for the blu-ray which I will definitely be picking up.
