It's one of the best romantic comedys . I make a point of watching it every year on Groundhog Day. Saw Andie MacDowell for the first time in Sex,Lies and Videotapes and love her ever since.
Caddyshack ? Are you serious ? That's a horrible movie. Bill Murray's best are Ghostbusters, Stripes, and Groundhog Day. Caddyshack was just....ugh.
Great movie, Murray's best next to Ghostbusters. I'm happy with the first SE DVD. It already has the commentary and the Weight of Time documentary.

Well, I'm a little stumped as to why you'd take the time to register your hate with this flick. Seems kinda counter productive.

"Meh" cover, but I'll try to pick it up.

overrated movie+c**ppy artwork+c**ppy packaging+c**ppy extras=BOYCOTT!
Horrible cover.
Great movie, but new cover sucks. And why is the content identical to the old Special Edition ????
The Evil DVD Art Department (EDAD) has struck again!
S**tty cover and where is the Blu-Ray announcement?

Yes, but he didn't retaliate until people starting getting on his case/writing off his opinion. BUT I do agree his replies in retaliation were very immature, but the insecurity is on both sides.

Having said that, I saw this movie when it first came out and haven't since then. I don't remember if I liked it or not as I was fairly young. I'll most likely just borrow my older brother's previous copy and see for myself.
I'm sure that we will all agree (is that even possible???) that artwork is horrible.

LOL @ Bill Murray's deformed face. Good Job Artwork dept. and I also like that Andie is looking at her own name above.
oh and btw>> I didn't like the movie, and I see nothing wrong with them posting their opinions about it being c**p either. Hardly any of you guys did over at the Resident Evil Page so why shoudl you complain? :rolls eyes at the hypocrisy of certain members on this site:

Artwork is horrendous. Looks like it was very rushed and flung together. And why are the names above the wrong person?
is it just me or does Bill's face look a little odd on this cover?
Why? Why with the big red "this is a comedy" letters? I'll probably pick this up, regardless of the lousy artwork. My library has almost no straight-ahead comedies (just not my thing, in general) - but this is one I actually like.

They so better come up with Scrooged FAST !

No, it's not a good film. It's unnecessary to complain about those who have a different view of the film than you do. THAT is what shows insecurity.
Replying to and defending yourself against such a statement (which was made out in the open for anyone), proves your insecurity.
Making a comment like that proves YOUR own insecurity, which seems to be deep-seated.
Just out of pure curiosity, and not of insecurity, how is that?

Very overrated. Still, I'm mad there's a double dip since I bought this last year.

Love the movie but I'm quite happy with the first Special Edition version I own, no thanks.

By the by, Ned Ryerson is one of the most unconvincing villains on Heroes.
I LOVED this movie from day one. I thought it was great piece of film, and should have been a cult classic. I don't know when people started liking it, but it used to be hated back in the day. It appears from this thread it could be in the cult classic group.
I will get a double dip for this movie.

EXACTLY!!!
I clicked, because, 1. This is my favorite romantic comedy of all time (next up, is While You Were Sleeping), and 2. I'm mad that they're coming out with ANOTHER special edition! *sigh* - I LOVE DVDs, but I HATE the DVD market. I really really do.

Didn't knew they'd do yet another edition, but I never got the chance to buy it so I guess this will be the right time... in your face Sony, no triple-dip for me! Just happy I learned my lesson.

You obviously don't know what great screen comedies are, do you?
I know that I do, and Jeff probably does to.....but this movie doesn't qualify as one.

A classic, and I believe Bill Murray's best role (together with Ghostbusters). Somehow never got around to get it, I guess this would be a good opportunity
nice now where is the blu ray version?
If it has the outtake where the groundhog bit Bill Murray, it's worth the triple-dip.
This movie is not overrated
awesome movie... but a pointless triple dip.
Anyone know if this announcement signifies a blu-ray release day-and-date as well? It's Sony, so if I had to gamble I'm betting there will be, but you never know...
Very overrated. At best, good for just a handful of mild laughs, not much else.
I'd rather own CaddyShack.
I was just thinking I need to buy this today, guess I'll wait now.

Great Movie! Hands down one of Bill Murray and Harold Ramis' best movies they've ever made. Chris Elliot and Andie McDowell are also great in this movie and the whole premise is simpley genius. This is a must!

First time post!
As much as I enjoy Bill's comedic work in this one, I'll pass. The previous Columbia 'Special Edition' did little to amuse me save for some brief outtake footage glimpsed at for about 10-15 seconds in the 'Weight of Time' doc.

Classic! One of Bill Murray's best, a comedy with an original idea not just the same old formula we see again and again.
I've held off buying it on DVD, I figured they'd release a better edition sooner or later, is the original release anamorphic?

One of the best comedies of all time, already own the original release but maybe I should buy another copy as the one I own is getting worn out!
