People will be glad to hear that Pan's hasn't received a ton of DNR like the US release.

I'm not that glad. But we get the Criterion treatment on Cronos.

Not sure I understand. Does that mean you'd have been happy for it to have DNR? The UK Cronos disc has most of the better Criterion stuff on it from what I can see.
£74.99? It's like the good old days of DVD. Party like it's 1999 lol. This should be a 25-30 quid boxset. Even with the pop-up.
A ridiculous price for a load of useless tat. If this set hasn't dropped below £20 by January, I'll eat my hat.

I was just being spiteful, since I'm in the US and have the version with lots of DNR.

Useless tat? That's a bit harsh given that these are three excellent films (on Blu-ray no less).
Not the films Chris, the pop-up display.
Well yes, I agree that the pop up thing is a bit unnecessary. I also agree that it's overpriced. Very nice transfers though.

In the last days of VHS they used to give stuff away (Disney animals etc) and Blu is going the same way. I'm all for limited edition packaging when it's out of this world cool but sometimes it's just well... meh.
Blu-ray publishers seem to have gone all marketing 101 on the public. You can imagine a meeting "How do we show consumers that Blu-ray is better than standard DVD? They just don't seem to get it"
"I know, we charge two or three times the price for a three film boxset, if we charge more people will know it's better."
