Finally... I was beginning to think Anchor Bay didn't care anymore for one of its only cash cows... milk it, Anchor.

cool and its the original poster art to boot (well with a hint of flame apparently lol), not some new lame photoshop thing. with Shout releasing Parts 2 and 3 in the fall, i'll now have the whole franchise on blu....not bad for someone who just started buying them a few months ago.

speaking of Anchor Bay, maybe they'll finally give Army of Darkness some blu-ray love with their extras and the extended cut.

Nice collection of commentaries.
I hope Scream Factory or Anchor Bay could give Halloween : Curse of Michael Myers a proper treatment with Blu-ray and include the alternate cut (which has only been available in bootleg video circles sadly and no DVD or blu-ray release of that alternate producer's cut of the film). So I do think I will be getting the Halloween films on Blu-ray this fall

They lost the rights to that and Evil Dead 2. Our best hope is that MGM puts out a decent Blu-ray of the international cut in Asia.

Part 6 is now in the hands of Echo Bridge and they dont seem to care much about what they have so....that Prodcuer's cut is less and less likely to ever see official release. its too bad because for good or bad, its not often that an alternate cut has such radical differences from the theatrical version.

Yeh I'd love to see the producers cut of H6. I owned the bootleg dvd but the quality was terrible. Jason goes to hell also had some strong cuts too, not to the extent of curse but still. I'm interested in seeing the newly released deleted scenes on part 4 tho
I hope this time Anchorbay improve on the languages options, including spanish audio or at least spanish subtitles and if they can add other languages just like BLUE UNDERGROUND , which for example their include multi-subtitles on epic blu-ray releases such "Lucio Fulci ZOMBIE" with French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, German, Korean, Mandarin and Thai subtitles. BLUE UNDERGROUND should be a role model to ANCHORBAY that how small DVD/Blu-ray companies generate demand around the world extremely increasing their sales. Go smart ANCHORBAY!
Damn, "Halloween 5" DVD still doesn't have any of the alternate footage included

Film director and CEO of Blue Underground William Lustig is the main reason Anchor Bay became known as the distributor of some great, cult home video releases since he worked with the company as a producer for many years, and as far as I'm concerned Blue Underground IS today's Anchor Bay.

You know, Anchor Bay put it nicely smooth for us: just in time for Halloween's 35th anniversary next year... milk it, Anchor!

Man, do I HOPE for Anchor Bay to issue AOD on Blu with lots of extras and both versions so we can have an ultimate edition... Evil Dead was pretty great (the limited edition, that is), Evil Dead 2 followed greatly, now it's more than time for AOD to do the same... after all, 2012 is its 20th anniversary.
