does the blu-ray contain both versions of the film (DC and Theatrical)?
I found the Devils Rejects actually quite good.... House of 1000 corpses was a bit howdy doody...
If you like the remakes more than the originals of this franchise, you are an idiot.
These comments make me laugh my a$$ off. All this junk about Zombie being amazing, and H2 being a character-driven, original movie? Lol this, as well as all of Zombie's stuff, is trash. They're terribly made in every way possible.
Can't wait to own this movie on DVD
Take a look at the press release - Who in the hell is SCOTT Taylor-Compton. Is that Scout's evil twin brother who is a terrible actor. That's terrible when they can't even proof read the release!??!?!
Llama - don't bait the troll. King has been warned.

Didn't see it in theaters so seeing the director's cut will be good.
Woooow, the dvd cover is... Okay... But I kind of wanted it to be different.

Someone actually likes her? She is such a horrid "actress."
Anyway, I hate Rob Zombie's movies. They suck. I love horror movies, but he's a hack and I can't stand all of the white trash characters and awful dialogue. I wish the creators of INSIDE would have done H2 like planned. Thankfully they are at least going with soemone new for the next installment. This being said, out of morbid curiosity I will rent this one. I'm sure I'll despise it like his other "films" but can't help myself.

I was willing to give Zombie a chance with the remake of "Halloween" (and its sequel, unfortunately), but he ultimately stripped everything good of the original franchise and spat on it. I respect that some people like them, but Zombie took the wrong approach and kept to it.
His "Halloween" movies make me sick. At least with the 2003 "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake, they didn't keep to the original screenplay often and made significant changes. However, those changes weren't in the wrong direction and it was an enjoyable movie on its own.
I didn't have much of a problem with them remaking HALLOWEEN. It's the actual POS that was made that I have a problem with. I expected it to be bad after HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, and I was right. I loved the TCM remake. I thought they did a great job. The cinematography was fantastic and they created characters I actually cared about. Had Rob Zombie directed it, it would have been trash. He's not capable of making a good movie.

I guess some people just want to see the same exact movie, with the same exact scenes, motivations, set pieces and plot. Oddly enough, if you wanted the movie to be the same as the original franchise, then why wouldn't you just watch the original franchise? I applaud Zombie for trying to do something different, especially with this 2nd film, as he didn't follow the same Halloween routine and certainly made it his own creation and not a poorly recycled retread that this franchise has seen over and over. Some of us, myself included, didn't need to see this remade at all. Some of us think that Zombie is just remaking the same movie over and over. Let's see:
Trailer-trash family? Check.
Incessant amounts of profanity? Check.
Shocking, pointless violence? Check.
Personally, he hit a high point with "The Devil's Rejects". But these "reimaginings" are just a new low and are completely unnecessary, except to fulfill his wish to "update" a classic horror movie by pushing the limits of decency and good taste. Just my opinion.

This movie sucked. The original "H2" was a lot better & Carpenter's original "Halloween" is still the top slasher film. Next to "Psycho" that is.

when we get back artwork for the blu-ray it should confirm whether or not the theatrical version is included i am amazed there is no mention of the theatrical version incleded on the blu-ray a simple yes or no will do
The theatrical and unrated cuts aren't included on the BD? That disappoints me a little. Also, what about the 8 hour documentary Zombie promised? I'm not going to get this release until Sony releases a BD version with both cuts included and the 8 hour documentary. I smell a double dip in the future. The artwork looks kick-butt! The film was good, pretty dark and twisted, but could not get past the awful acting.

Will wait to pick it up used before seeing it (as I do with almost everything I buy now), as I liked the first that much, I'll do the blind buy.
I would not do that for these reasons:
A: There will be a double-dip in the future for H2 because Zombie said there'd be an 8 hour documentary, which is missing, which only means one thing: DOUBLE DIP
B: If you liked the first one, you are going to HATE H2. They are completely different. For an example, everyone that thought H2 sucked, liked Zombie's Halloween. Everyone, as I, that liked H2, DID NOT like Zombie's Halloween.

Am I reading that right; 33 million at the box office? Really, they are proud of that??
Rob Zombie's H2 was definitely one the superior horror films to come out this year, along with Orphan.
If you are looking for something dark, twisted, character-driven, and original then give H2 a chance...otherwise go watch some watered-down c**p like Final Destination 3D with all the other brain-dead teeny-boppers!!!

I LOVE THE BLU-RAY COVER
It's cool.

If this piece f c**p already has a release date, then when will Zombieland be out cause that's the "horror" movie I'm waiting for.
Even worse than Assault on Precint 13, Psycho AND The Fog remake. Quite an achievement.

It's not scary, nor 'fun' gory-- it's just completely demented.
While I don't loathe the film like you do, I agree the film had too much killing. I know it's about Michael Meyers and he's a psychopath, but even Zombie's 2007 remake didn't have deaths occur every ten minutes. Albeit, this did not detract from my overall view of the film. I still thought it was a solid sequel.

Actually, The Weinstein Company went back to independent distribution. MGM only has rights to the TWC films that they distributed together. After "Soul Men" (the last TWC movie to be distributed theatrically by MGM), they went back to being an self-distributor. Plus, Sony only has 20% ownership of MGM & MGM has no involvement this time with "Halloween II" like they had with "Halloween".

Not really. Prior to TWC selling off the DVD rights to companies like Universal and Sony, TWC released their movies via Genius Products' DVD and Blu-ray arm.
MGM has their recent releases distributed on DVD/Blu-ray by Fox, and Fox distributes MGM's movies worldwide. MGM did have their library distributed by Sony on home video in 2005-2006.

I still don't know if I like this movie. It is one of the most screwed up movies I watched this year. To throw in my opinion, I like john Carpenter's original better than Zombie's remake and sequel (which go more for shock value than scares).

Okay, it's excusable if you like the film, as I, but you would seriously compare Rob Zombie to Kubrick, Speilberg, and Scorsese? Did you even watch any of the films by any of those directors? Do you even know what movies they created? Please troll, leave this board.
I liked the movie, and I don't care if anyone else did or not.

On the bright side, we're (DVD) getting all the extras. That's cool.
I'll pick this up, BUT only when it hits the sale circuit. Hmmmm... maybe ten dollars.

I loved Halloween 2, but, if all they're gonna do to the DC is add an unnecessary rape scene (such as the first one's DC, which is why I stuck with the standard dvd) then I'll most likely not get this on blu so that I can get the standard version.

Whatever
Terrible movie! I hate how rob turned this into.. well one of his cliche trashy horror movies about bad families and rednecks. I didn't mind it too much when it's his own movie, but when he moves into a classic and throws the entire point of the original out the window, that's when it sucks. And to think they are letting him remake The Blob too. Will the blob somehow be demonic? Will it take place in the south? Will the blob have some redneck family and alcoholic parents? With Zombie directing, I would count on it! Those who say this is in any way better then the original, I just will never understand. Zombie's remakes really have nothing to do with the idea of the first, at all. That's not opinion, (My opinion was that it sucked), it's really just how it is. My guess is he really didn't understand the original concept.

"Write what you know, kid."
-- Jesus to the Apostle Paul
And with those words and looking at Rob Zombie's track record, we can guess that the only thing he knows is white trash sleaze and how best to permeate American life with it. These movies didn't deserve to be made. The 1978 version was excellent without being gory or obscene, and that is what these remakes are. There's nothing good or redeeming about either of these "re-imaginings" or these "terrifying new visions". I close with a quote from, oddly enough, a sequel that looks like "Citizen Kane" compared to the Rob Zombie "Halloween" movies:
"Some folks sure got a strange idea of entertainment."
--Martin (the caretaker), "Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives"

Taylor Scout Compton = Day 1 Purchase. Thought she was great in both films.
I enjoyed the first remake, still not sure of my full opinion on the second film. I need to rewatch it. It had some odd moments in it. Brad Dourif gave a good performance aswell I thought.

I really like the Halloween remakes cant wait for this to come out in the Uk wonder why we haven't had a Blu-Ray releases of the 1st one yet I had to import that from Australia.
i saw it in the theater, it was alright, a hell of alot better than final destination 3-d but in terms of buying it i will pass
is the blu-ray gonna have both versions of the movie??? doesn't say
This and "Saw VI" vie for the Worst Movie of the Year Award. It's sickening how Zombie singlehandedly ran the franchise into the ground with this one. This is no Halloween movie, but a RZ movie with the "Halloween" title on it.
Thank God Dimension had the sense to move on to someone else. Patrick Lussier is far more talented and knows a thing or two about the Halloween franchise.

What, no 2/3-disk editions like the first one?

Wow, more that 30 extra minutes of torturous, sleazy and purely comtemptuous filmmaking. After watching this I was convinvced that Rob Zombie truly hates his audience.
Couldnt have said it better myself. Fu*k this sh*t!

I might pick up the BD if both the theatrical and unrated cuts are included. I don't want to take any chances with the director's cut like with RZ's director's cut of Halloween on BD. I liked the film, but I couldn't get over the bad acting. Although I'm disappointed that the only separate extra we get from the theatrical cut is just an audio commentary. While it's more, I suspected something of the lines of an additional documentary. Speaking of documentaries, where is the 8 hour documentary Zombie promised would be on the DVD/BD?
For me this is a day 1 purchase! Loved every second of it.
I learnt my lesson the first time around.

Hated this in theaters. Might be better with the Director's Cut.
