ya i liked it alot...and 11 minutes extra...now this movie is 2 hours!!!! definate buy the directors cut for me, and i like the artwork too!!
I'll Pass.
I wonder if this is the workprint, a mix of the theatrical cut and workprint or something else.
I wanted to like this movie. But it was garbage.
I really like the DVD artwork. IMO it looks better than the poster.
This movie made me feel... defeated when walking out of the theater. I really, really didn't like it.
Dig the cover. I wonder what's going to be added in those 11 minutes?
I saw the workprint. Everyone told me scenes from the theatrical version of the movie and they were drastically different than the version I saw. I really liked the workprint so hopefully the director's cut is that version. I never saw the theatrical version nor do I care to from the sounds of it. Wish there would be an HD DVD of this. I would pick that up in an instant.
this was interesting I will buy but it will never become a true classc like Carpenters origanal.
Never have I wanted so much to forget that movie even existed than after seeing this. Did you know that there was an "It's A Wonderful Life" remake? ...my point exactly.
Awful, awful movie. Even if it wasn't a remake, on its own terms the movie purely stinks. Horrible script, atrocious editing (which kills a thriller like this, pun intended), and amateurish acting. Danielle Harris and Malcolm McDowell deserved way better than this.
Zombie should've stuck to another sequel, at least it would've been easier to ignore. Just horrible, the remake that shouldn't have been. They did do some stuff right: they kept the original themes by John Carpenter, reproduced the original mask and they did get Danielle Harris back to face Michael again (albeit as a different character) for the third time. And the McDowell factor, he wasn't a bad Dr. Loomis either but he can't compete with Donald Pleasance.

I havent seen this, but I expect it's probably far from horror... but instead a disturbing version of Halloween with female full frontal nudity and misfired artistic liberties?
Best cover art ever!!!!!
this is the workprint version with the cut-out rape scene?
My vote for WORST movie of the year. Such an uneccesary remake.
Like wasn't this in the movies on 8/31, seems way too soon, guess it was horrible, speaking of Horribe i saw Vacancy, my god what a waste of 90 minutes..Steve Sky67
Honestly, I've never seen the original Halloween (however I am definitely going to watch it between now and next Wednesday) but I saw this in theaters and loved it. It was really awesome and pretty creepy too. Definitely going to buy the director's cut.
Isn't THAT weird...a 2 disc rated and a 2 disc unrated? Odd.
I'm getting it. Maybe not release day though.

I'm passing. I haven't been a fan of Zombie since White Zombie released "Make Them Die Slowly" in 1989.
Probably a composite of the workprint and theatrical version. Hopefully all of the workprint scenes are available as deleted scenes, and in anamorphic, all cleaned up and stuff to give faneditors the option of re-building the workprint or making their own version.
If that's the case, I might make my own version that serves as a pseudo-prequel and ends when Michael escapes from Smith's Grove. The origin story of the movie was far more interesting than the half-assed remake portion. Although you can't view the origin as canon in the original Halloween series, it makes a nice stand-alone horror/drama, IMO.

I hated this movie. A lot. To me it is an embarrasment to the original Halloween. Rob Zombie has no understanding of the original. It wasn't meant to be gory. It was meant to be a thriller, and that means suspense. Zombie's "film" is absolutely no comparison to the original. The scenes are shot so dark that you can't see what's going on. There is an awful screenplay, bad acting, HORRIBLE casting, and NO SUSPENSE whatsoever. In my opinion, this film should not be released on dvd and Rob Zombie should give it another shot. Either that, or Zombie needs to be killed. I really wanted to like this movie, and for a while I fooled myself, coming up for excuses for why it isn't that bad. Eventually I realized that this film just plain stinks. It is one of the lamest excuses for a movie I have ever seen. I would compare to Alone in the Dark or Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. It was also very disappointing. It was even more disappointing than Lady in the Water.

What's the fun of a remake if you can't put a new spin to it? I agree Zombie didn't understand the fact that Michael Myers background didn't need to be explored what so ever. None the less I give him props for reinventing Myers and not making him a joke no more. At least in this version I'm glad it was different, that it was about a monster trying to find his light, instead of evil coming to a suburb town. Got to give it props, possibly my fave of the year. Not saying it's better or worse than the original, I think of it as "The Wall" from Pink Floyd, same storyline different message.

Cool artwork. Movie was ok. Really makes you appreciate the original all the more. Although it was better then the last 3 sequels. But none of that matters, because:
No high def = no purchase. This film was popular enough to warrant a high def release. No excuse.

Halloween H20 was leagues better than this. And as bad as Resurrection is, it's at least 40 minutes shorter, so there's less pain.
I'm buying this, man my friends say it's awesome so I am going to take their opinion and buy it.Thank god it's a 2-disc unrated director's cut.
I didn't see the workprint, but I'd much rather have that than the sh!tty, overly-long theatrical version. RELEASE THE WORKPRINT!
I enjoyed this remake. The original film, although good too, is so overrated and needed to be brought into the modern age.
totally love that cover, all except that huge Unrated title, surely 'Directors Cut' means the same thing.

One of the absolute WORST movies I've seen in my life. Right up there with AVP and Batman & Robin. I counted 14 people leave the theater and I was all too happy to start a chant of booo's at the end. This makes H2O look like a masterpiece. Needless to say I won't be picking this one up.
Gah...I really with they would ditch the whole 'UNRATED' c**p on every DVD cover thats ever released already, The cover would look so much better if it just had 'Directors Cut' under the title..
