9 times out of 10, it will also have an Ultraviolet digital copy to go along with the iTunes version, but you don't have to use the former.

Actually, it was reported at www.comingsoon.net a few weeks back that a sequel is in the works.

A little light on features, eh? Where's the damn commentary track?
It came out in January so June is not a quick release.
Why the hell has Paramount elected to release the DVD/Blu-ray in June? Makes no sense... at the latest it should be May, earliest is next month.
Ah well.
Ah well.
wow, considering it did better than expected and is looking to spawn a sequel, i am surprised at the lack of extras. although they'll probably re-release it with more stuff whenever the sequel comes.
Seymour Cat WHAT?!
If you're going to make a monochrome movie, the correct choice is black and white, not effing teal and orange.
HELL YES!! the UNRATED version!! thank god i bought BR player recently!
Apparently the movie sat on shelves for a year, so I wouldn't hold my breath on a sequel.
Regardless I freaking loved it! Easily one of the best movies I've seen in a long time simply because it was just a fun movie.

No directors cut? There is meant to be one coming which is uncut....

Anyone else thinks Paramount and MGM are going to fast-track a sequel? The movie's already made its money back, if we're going by the 2.5x multiplier rule ($127M worldwide gross against a $50M budget).
If there was a way to delve further into the mythology, then they'll be able to make a bigger, wilder and scarier story.

Well, I didn't mean it'd be like Family Guy in terms of structure or content, I more just meant that family attempts to disguise its laziness with an incessant, "I'm so annoyed that I have to entertain you," tone, and that this is the case with most intentionally dumb material. And again, I'm not saying that this is necessarily the case with this movie, simply that it's a safe assumption.

With a title like "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters", you know it's not Oscar material. And the humor is nothing like Family Guy, it's either broad or morbid humor. (And the anachronistic weapons made me chuckle.) No sex jokes, cut-away gags or obscure pop culture references like FG embodies.
The movie makes no bones to be anything other than a silly B-movie. You'll either like it or hate it.

Ugh. Most of the time, "intentionally dumb," is just code for, "a really lazy effort with an incessantly condescending tone, you know, like Family Guy." It's likely that this movie is no exception, but I'll rent it, if only because Jeremy Renner looks like a sad pug, and I find this extremely attractive.
I used to buy ever movie I could think of now it just depends on the special features and will I watch it more than once
I thought this pic was trashy fun. It's a tongue-in-cheek film, it's purposely over-the-top, and the actors are in on the joke. I can see why people wouldn't like it or wait for Netflix, the trailers make it look like a bigger-budgeted SyFy film.
Day one purchase for me. And apparently both DVD and Blu-ray include an unrated edition of the film as well.

I thought this movie was lazy. The action scenes and production design were good- the rest was horrible except for the performance of Famke Janssen (who was really enjoying the role).
taciturnwes, i agree! i hated VAN HELSING (even though i love Kate Beckinsale) and i disliked for the most part LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER but i loved H&G:WITCH HUNTERS!
I gotta tell you, theres some movies I have ZERO desire to see. EVER! This is clearly one of them. I can't even see myself renting it. To each his own, but this whole genre doesnt appeal to me in the very least. I also don't really care for Jeremy Renner and his deep stare.
Speaking as someone who personally hated Van Helsing as well as last year's dreadful Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, I have to agree that Hansel and Gretel was actually quite enjoyable, the over-the-top action, gore and one-liners were a lot of fun, I'd actually be more than willing to buy myself a copy of the blu-ray when it comes out.
havent seen this yet, hoping to this weekend but i get a "R rated version of van helsing" vibe from it as far as tone and things. and thats a movie i liked a lot so if i'm right..huzzah. lol
Wow that was quick! Didn't have any desire to see this but you guys are turning me around on it, I'll probably wait until it's on Netflix.
Movie Dude, i agree! this movie was so much fun. i liked it so much i saw it twice. the cast is awesome (Famke is a goddess!), it has some very good action and some awesome bloody/gory over the top (in a good way!) parts. Edward the troll was my fave. so sad & sweet and a badass!
I don't see why some people did not like this movie. It was a fun movie and I was surprised that Will Ferrell & Adam McKay could produce something that services itself as a dark comedy and a straight horror fantasy.
