Warner Home Video has revealed early details on a 31-disc Harry Potter Wizard's Collection that contains all 8 Harry Potter movies (including the extended versions of Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets, and 3D versions of Deathly Hallows Part 1&2) on Blu-ray disc, DVD, and UltraViolet digital copy, plus more than 37 hours of bonus material. This will include more than 10 hours of new bonus content, such as the final 2 "Creating the World of Harry Potter" features ("Story", "Growing Up"), and a "The Harry Potters You Never Met" feature that chronicles how stunts from the films were performed. Also included in the package will be a map of Hogwarts, concept art prints, and catalogs of props and posters all designed by the graphic designers from the films.

I so want this, but at just under $500, It'll have to wait until I visit the UK in 2013, hope I can find one, but I doubt it!

I will also get the regular blu-ray and will more than likely buy the trilogy boxed set as well. Has anyone ever heard anything about a Deathly Hallows combo pack? I have all of the other movies but never bothered with the DH DVDs. I figured they'd eventually release a four-disc or something, but no such luck.

WB was originally going to have both Parts 1 & 2 be in 3D, but because of post-production work taking longer than expected -- the 3D conversion was ditched for Part 1. I guess they completed the work in order to cash in on Blu-ray 3D.

I just watched the first one and didn't like it, so didn't bother with the others. But I am a sucker for box sets and this one looks pretty cool. I'm sure some fans are really going to love this.
Others, who have been buying the individual releases may not be that thrilled, but anyone buying home video knows to expect the inevitable box set for a franchise. So both parts of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows are on 3D now? When did the first part go 3D?
I am so disappointed with this over-stuffed boxed set and hefty price tag. I just picked up the 8 Film Collection on Blu-ray at a modest $50 used price. I'm satisfied with that.
Keep in mind, guys, the $500 is the MSRP. I could see this going for maybe $350 at Best Buy. Still expensive, but I'll take it over $500. I really would love to watch all of these films, but not enough to buy this gargantuan set with every trinket and format known to man. I'll probably buy them used off of Amazon, and it won't even be $50.

I already unloaded my DVDs and never did the BD upgrade in anticipation of something like this. I wish it weren't so "clunky" though. How about a more modest addition with all the disc content, but a straightforward boxset that'll sit on the shelf next to the rest of the BDs?

I couldn't really care less for Potter but WOW. That's one hell of a boxset for the fans.
I agree with elmtreefilms. Harry Potter is WB's biggest franchise in their possession, and yet they haven't given it the quality treatment given to its first four Batman movies, the Superman collection, and Blade Runner.
I would love to see a 2-disc deluxe treatment for all eight films (as well as remastered A/V quality on the first film), and have that packaged in a nice set. Not this haphazard set with a lot of useless junk.

I could be wrong but it always seemed to me that they really dropped the ball in the extras department through the entire DVD life-cycle for these releases. The featurettes I've seen are very "fluffy" and it would've been nice to have these films chronicled more like LOTR. Needless to say, I don't have $500 to drop on this. That's an expensive double dip.
For 500.00 you could buy a used car that price is ridiculous not everyone is made of money I know I am not heck I have the complete series which I am selling anyway .

damn, thats a pretty fancy and cool set. i dont like the movie enough to own them so i'll skip out but fans are getting something good. and i appreciate how they managed to pack it into what seems like a small enough box. not some huge thing that'll either eat up too much shelf space or not fit properly.
