I honestly think that The Prisoner of Azkaban was way, way, way, way, way, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY, WAY better.
what?
none of zee books are bad! let alone "worst"! period.

ye forgot "in my opinion". noob.

Not the best one but still utterly amazing! Bellatrix was creepy, but that's how she is in the books, so I can't complain. For those of you who have seen it, you'll know that she is involved in a tragic death during the film's thrilling climax. I'll definitely buy this one as soon as possible!!!!
HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE - Excellent. Followed up to the book. Great story. But a bit slow.
HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS - Pretty good, but the effects were very lame.
HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN - The best one. Stimulating. The dementors were well designed.
HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE - Pretty good. Came close to Chamber, but not as good as the first one or the third one.
HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX - Same here.

As if those weren't the worst photoshopped faces on the back cover...
can't wait to see....love the films
Easily the best of the Potter movies thus far. I am very happy to see Yates back for HBP. Can't wait to pick this one up.
I just wanna know if the gift set has room for the last two movies as well.

The extra features suck on the 2 disc edition and why the hell is there different extras on all the releases
This purely sucks
This purely sucks
I don't like the two discs edition cover but the limited edition box set looks great!
Looks awesome, but I'm pretty sure also that a seven-movie set is a given, so I'll be patient...
I want the big ol set but I know they will come out with one after all seven movies. So its a waste of money.
I am waiting until all 7 are out and then maybe get the box set...Im sure that everything will be included, sort of as the ultimate gift set..
I don't know Lincoln6Echo. I'm sure a complete set with all 7 films will be released, however that won't be for another few years, as well as very expensive.
I own the first and fourth, been waiting for that dream 7-film set, but I think this Limited Edition 5-film set looks promising. Ehhhh I don't know what to do, so much to buy and so little money to spend. Considering the the only one I liked was Prisoner Of Azkaban I think I'll pass.

Man, that Limited Edition box set looks sweet. I don't own any of the Potter movies, so there's a chance that I may splurge on that one.
Couple more packshots added for the giftset...
That is not many extras. I am not happy with that at all:-(
nice job making real people look like fake people.
Think about it. December release. Rings any bell?? They are just blatantly trying to milk more money out of us to but things like this for Christmas Pressies!! Just don't buy it, then.
The 1-5 boxset is pointless, such a waste. And they're probably gonna do a 1-6 and then the actualy complete series 1-7. Why can't they just wait? Ridiculous.
I've bought the first four 2-disc editions and I plan to purchase this one.. but I feel if extended cuts are released in the future, I'll have to purchase the Definitive Set at a later date.
As for the film, I enjoyed it. It wasn't wonderful, but it was way better than GOF. For me, my favourite movies are the Columbus films (PS and COS) and I don't think any of them have come close to that yet. Ooh, controversial.

That packaging for the boxed set is sweet. But I have to agree, it's c**p that they are releasing a gift boxed set of the whole series when the series really isn't complete! They know full well they will release another whole-uber boxed set when all of them are finally out there! It's so hard to resist this boxed set, because I really don't want to buy another boxed set in the future without feeling like I wasted money. I think I'll resist tempation and avoid the stores. I'll wait for the COMPLETE series boxed set.

I've just bought them separately thus far. Lest they come out with a box set containing new cuts of the films, I won't worry about my films being in a box.
I miss the digipaks, though, and wish they would have continued that packaging scheme rather than cut it off after CoS.
i so hear ya....i too dont get it. and this time its even worse because it isnt just a boring old generic c**ppy cardboard box to hold em like they usually do....the set is actully pretty nice and full, to put all that effort into a movie series that still has 2 left....weird.
I do hope that the box will be able to fit the two upcoming films (like they would use the extra goodies to fill in the space that the next two films will take up). but they'd have to guarantee the owners of the limited sets the same package design for those films, which would get pretty complicated. so yeah, this set is not worth getting... but it would be awesome if they did what i just explained. i guess it could work. the next two films would replace the bookmark collection and rather useless dvd game (or maybe there's enough space in the box to fit everything in it). i dont know. they're crazy for releasing this.

this gift set is pointless..why have an incomplete box set?
Wow, sweet boxset! But why release this now?! I haven't bought any of the movies waiting for something like this but with all SEVEN movies, not FIVE!
Might tempting though.. But i'll wait for the ULTIMATE boxset, but this boxset is quite nice though!

WOA!!! That's a lot in the Limited Giftset. Although, I think the 1-Disc Front Artwork is better, I think the 2-Disc Back Artwork is so much better.

The back cover art for the 2-disc indeed looks awesome, but it seems out-of-place. Instead they should use that back art for when "Deathly Hallows" is released.

I will rent this, I do look forward to checking this one out although the reviews aren't so positive..still...what really stinks is with each movie, there is the DVD release and then the gift set with all the movie...
I heard there are 2 more Harry Potter films left,by then I will see if I can get an empty box for free that can hold the entire series so I wont double dip. Some companies will mail off an empty box to put your DVDs in..it is a good way to save $$$

It's rude to point
The artwork on the back of the two-disc is my current wallpaper on my computer.
I always loved the japanese poster, and I'm happy it's being used on the 2-Disc back-cover.
What's with this growing trend of single-disc artwork being nicer than the 2-disc? I like both of these OOTP covers, but once again I think the single disc art is more dynamic.
It seems as though there is an ongoing trend with the back art for the Harry Potter movies -- Harry has to be flying on something and away/towards something.
Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone -- Nimbus 2000 towards the Snitch
Chamber of Secrets -- the Ford Anglia flying above the Hogwarts Express
Prisoner of Azkaban -- Buckbeak flying with Harry towards the lake
Goblet of Fire -- Harry flying the Firebolt away from the Hungarian Horntail
Order of the Phoenix -- Harry flying his Firebolt across the Thames
Half-Blood Prince -- ?
Deathly Hallows -- Harry and his friends flying on the dragon away from Gringotts?
Just a personal observation, mind you.
Another DVD web site has a back cover shot of the 2-disc edition at this link: http://www.dvdtown.com/moviedatabase/coverart/h...
Not to mention that site also has a teasing glimpse of the disc art too...

I like the single disk art better.
You call Alfonso Cuaron an untalented director? A strange opinion...
First few books were good but the movies are a PIECE OF S**T. Wooden acting, average effects untalented directors. The whole saga seems to have been sugar coated and become more of an american disney type product.
single art is much better. but hello? what about this absolutly wrong back cover? only Harry was on a broom in this one!
Where's Kaya Savas at? I suspect that if Hans Zimmer or any of the RC composers has scored this movie, he'd make a post here about it and about getting the Blu-ray release. ;-)
Is it just me, or are there covers getting more and more predictable with each installment?
I like them both. The placement of the characters on the single disc art is really cool, but I think I prefer the 2 disc art.
The was the most boring, uneventful of the movies so far in my opinion..... maybe on dvd I will feel different.
But 20 minutes of wand waiving got old quickly
But 20 minutes of wand waiving got old quickly
They're both ok. I think the single disc artwork is better, but I personally am getting the 2-Disc.
It does look like she is giving the bird in the 2 disc edition...I wonder if the 2 disc version of Harry is uncut LOL (a pun for Daniel Radcliffe)
thats hilarious.....they used the exact same shot of ron and hermione for both covers...lol
i say when you get it and get 2 disc and a friend gets single just switch the covers with them if they dont care what cover they get lol.

I like the artwork better on the single edition.
They messed up, single disk art is way better.
I think I like the 1 disc art better. Does anyone else see that they changed Hermoine's wand?? It doesnt look like she is flick us off anymore on the single disc version. I hope they maybe change the 2 disc art around a little.
Yep, the single-disc artwork looks cooler than the 2-disc edition. But no special features... I was rooting for a commentary myself to be on the single-disc since the initial specs didn't say anything about it being barebones up until now.
I love the single-disc cover WAY more than the 2-disc. I like the back cover too, but it doesn't make sense, seeing as they never rode brooms. And that picture of Umbridge and the Inquistorial Squad seems just...out of place.
I really like that single-disc art too, but the back cover makes no sense. They should be riding on thestrals lol.
Why are members of the D.A. riding brooms on the back cover?
i think the single disc cover looks a bit better then the 2 disc but still getting 2 disc. lol. i wonder what the 2 disc back cover art looks like.
Artwork now added for the single-disc release...
I have mixed feelings on this film. it felt like I was entering a book and leaving it in progress.
What's up for that new boxset? Really cool looking boxset, come on, we are not going to double-dip, or are we?
Well, I'm gonna wait to see which format wins, and then buy the ultra dupper super 7 movie boxet...oh, well, here we come, 2010?

awww another movie that had a cool poster and it isnt used for the dvd...thats too bad.
granted this one is actually nice unlike the usual photoshop c**p they throw out but yeah....why waste time creating theatrical posters if they just become a memory once the movie hits home video?
i also wonder how many fans havent bought any of the movies because they realize once the series is done, there's gonna be some cool series box set?

Too bad Goldenberg won't be back for "Half-Blood Prince" and probably "Deathly Hallows".
Shame Warners is continuing with their tradition of omitting commentary tracks on their HP releases. And the HD-DVD release won't be a combo... hurray!

Good film, the best Potter movie yet, which was ironic considering it was my least favourite book (but I can't actually hate any of Rowling's writing). Good film, will pick it up with all the others in a box set once all seven books are adapted.
They should have saved that great packaging design for when they release the ultimate 7-movie set.

It's a waste of money buying a five movie gift set considering there are two more to do.Two books that will be near impossible to turn into films. They just have to much going on and very complicated ideas.I'll hold out for the seven movie set. That is gorgeous though. But do you really need a Harry Potter bookmark set?I didn't think so.

I think a lot of people saying this is the worst Harry Potter movie say this because a lot of the book (i.e. the fans' favorite moments that weren't shot) was cut out or either say it lacks the magic of the previous installments. The movies grew less and less cutesier with each sequel and by the time POA and GOF rolled around the cuteness was gone completely.
Baloney I say. It's a worthy addition to the Potter saga, movie-wise and it's a heck of a lot better than many of those threequels the studios released before it. And at least it wasn't bloated, only 2 hours and 7 minutes long (minus end credits) which is far more economical and entertaining than the likes of "Transformers", "Pirates of the Caribbean 3" or "Spider-Man 3".

I'm another in the "loved it" group. I never cared much for this book, but I thought the screenwriter did a near miraculous job condensing it all down.
It's funny how the DVD extras are growing up along with the kids. At this rate we may finally get a commentary by movie #7.

I love the disc art posted on TheMovieInformer, which I'm actually a co-founder of; although the extent of my building the site was only making the banners (aside from the one ugly Spider-Man 3 one) and fixing the DVD release dates. Anyway, that cover is nice, no matter how many freaks don't like that poster, and I'm making a full-size version of that cover, except probably without the silver border, and a different background design more similar to the ones for the first 3 films.
I would have o say that this was the worst Harry Potter Movie Ever
I hope there's an extended version of this, because this was so badly edited, it's like they're rushing from one scene to the next.

Wait - is that the cover art for 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,' or is it the s**t I took this morning? This is just a nasty hodge podge of press photos that looks like it was thrown together in 30 minutes.
my favorite Potter-movie to date. But I rather like the german artwork (http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/51x%2Bq08...), if it is the offical one.

Wow, we're all pretty divided on our feelings for this movie. Seems we either loved it or thought it was the worst yet! As for the cover, I like it well enough, though Hermione looks a little odd.
I loved this movie! Out of all the summer blockbusters I believe that this is easily the best, and in my opinion the best Potter film to date (even though I wish they kept a few tid-bits). The filmmakers took the book and slimmed it down into a film that worked and represented the spirit novel. The actors were great, as well as the action and effects. Although I would have liked if they used the second international poster, I like the dvd cover very much, and I just can't wait till Dec 11th to get my hands on that 2-Disc DVD!!!
It's fitting that the worst Potter film gets the worst artwork aswell. It wasn't a bad film though... don't get me wrong.

The fake cover was horrible. It was ported over from the Swedish poster and it looks awful -- you can hardly recognize anyone in there because it's so airbrushed (only Rupert and Evanna are recognizable) and the same layout from GOF was used in creating it.

I don't like that artwork, but thats my favorite movie of the year, so far.

Oh, and they better release a single disc dvd too, 'cause then the "- Disc Edition" won't be "Special."
They are -- they actually stated it in the press release, if you read carefully. They haven't released the artwork for the single-disc edition yet -- going by what they've done for GOF, I suppose the single-disc edition will have the exact same art only with a "Widescreen Edition" banner and that it'll be featureless.

I'll be interested to see what they do with the packaging on this one.
One of the best yet. Will be picking this up.
Still feel that WB is setting us up for the worlds largest double dip. These DVD releases for the Potter films lack any sort of comprehensive making of feature and they lack commentary. You KNOW that the kids and directors have had to of recorded commentary for these films. If not, somebody at WB has dropped the ball. As much as I want commentaries, if they haven't been recorded and instead, will be done once it is all said and done for a mega box set, will be a shame. Oh well, we shall see what the future holds.

This movie was the worst Harry Potter film ever. I watched this one in Imax, but if it wasn't for the 3D, I would have completely hated it. But I'll still buy it though, Blu-ray version's mine, only 'cause I have the other four.

I'm not buying any Harry Potter movies until there's a huge boxset with all 7 movies in 2010-11!
It was really tempting at one point last year when they were all around 10$ each! But i said NO and i'll wait for the massive complete boxset!
Oh and i really loved OotP!

i heard a long time ago that at some point there may be rereleases of all movies in extended versions with commentaries but not sure if they are still going to do that.
Nah, it'll be quicker than that. They'll probably re-release the first six movies as nice CEs to coincide with the theatrical release of the final movie, "Deathly Hallows".
Yes.
But at there'll be planty of stuff when they release "The Whole Bloody Cauldron" in 2010-2011 (ten year anniversary set?)

is it too much to ask for ONE Harry Potter movie to have some kind of COmentary???
It was a big disappointment, but not as bad as "Spider-Man 3" was. Figured it was going to be released in December.
Loved this movie. It and "Prisoner of Azkaban" are the best in the series so far IMO. Can't wait to pick this up.

Will Warners provide the single-disc art yet, as well as back art for the DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-ray releases soon?

Really? In movies 3 and 4, Kloves made up scenes that weren't in the book (such as McGonagall teaching the students to dance and giving Hermione more lines than Ron), which was annoying. Aside from the major cuts, Goldenberg paid homage to things that were largely omitted from the book (such as a brief glimpse of Sirius's mother's portrait) and watching the movie, one doesn't need to have read the book to fully understand the movie. And plus, Ron and Hermione had equal time in the movie.
I think one is confusing the screenplay (which was probably a three-hour-long rough cut) with what was shot but removed in the editing room. But anyway...

Awesome, thank you.
I don't know if you know (you probably do), word is that the HD-DVD version is going to have exclusive bonus features NOT included in the BluRay?
From HighDefDigest
Quote: Not unlike the recently-released '300' and 'Blood Diamond,' the HD DVD edition of 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' will contain a trio of exclusive bonus features, including a "In-Movie Experience" video commentary featuring "the cast from Dumbledore's Army coming together to share memorable moments," the ability to "Pick Your Favorite Scenes" and assemble your favorite clips from the movie into a montage, and additional web-enabled content including downloads and other goodies to be announced.

Yep, theres a Harry Potter 1-5 Limited Edition Giftset listed for release on the 11th too. It'll include a Harry Potter DVD game Hogwarts Challenge, along with a bonus disc containing over 2 hours of enhanced content, an exclusive "Harry Potter's Bookmark Collection", and collectible trading cards. Not got the artwork yet though.

Eh...I actually thought this was the worse of the five films...I didn't gave it a perfect rating like the previous four films.
Count me in for the 2 disc. I always enjoy the HP movies, just annoyed that the books get longer while the running time on each movie stays the same. I would gladly sit through a longer movie, but then again I guess they think most kids won't. Can't wait to add this to my other HP dvds.
Can't wait for this one! I saw it twice at the theater and loved it. I'm still not sure if I like it better than POA, but I'm sure multiple DVD viewings will determine that eventually. I wish it had been a bit longer (some scenes seemed truncated, ending before they should have), but otherwise a really good movie.
And I did like Nicholas Hooper's score, my fave since POA.

What no conversation with the trio???????????????
I am pissed about that is anyone else pissed about that?

not quite as good as "azkaban," but definitely one of the best in the series. looked great on imax too.
I for one loved the Harry Potter series. But this one was a complete mess. Needed soem serious cofee to stay awake. I'll pick it up in order to have complete set. But, believe you me, it won't be on my "wow I have to watch it again" list
I'll pick it up. But my least fave in the series. Then again, it was still great.
The cover art is s**t though.
The cover art is s**t though.
This was definitely my least favorite since the first one but still a pretty decent movie. I've got the other four so I'll definitely pick up the single disc version at some point.
The features sound unimpressive. I want to see the back cover to see the official features. But I like that cover art, it's very simple and not too over-crowded.
Great movie -- the best Harry Potter movie out there now, heck I think it's even better than POA. And Michael Goldenberg did a great job with adapting the book and even with all the massive cuts (such as the Weasley is Our King subplot and the omission of Quidditch), it was faithful to the spirit of the book. Too bad Goldenberg won't be back for "Half-Blood Prince" and probably "Deathly Hallows".
Shame Warners is continuing with their tradition of omitting commentary tracks on their HP releases. And the HD-DVD release won't be a combo... hurray!

I wish they'd kept the original movie poster art, that way, it matches the earlier release styles.
Did anyone else like the soundtrack to this one? I thouht it was really well done. I didn't miss John Williams with this one, not like GOF.
I've missed him since PoA. Goblet's score is okay, and this one is slightly better, but I wish John would come back...
...which I read he has voiced he hopes to return for Deathly Hallows. Keeping my fingers crossed.

She's giving the finger cos she's a teenager hehe, roll on the college years!!
cant wait to get this. why released so late tho? thought it would have been in november. either way i like the cover. i was afraid they would use the poster with all the kids and make it look like the 4th ones cover. i hope they keep this cover i like it.
Esily the best Harry Potter movie and one of the best of 07!
SWEET! 2 disc standard DVD is mine!
are the HD versions 2-disc editions?
Thought it could have been a lot better but definitely not the worst. The editing is strange in this one.Great book!
Not the best of the series, but not the worst. The 3-D Imax version saved it from being second worst.
Why is Hermione giving me the finger on the artwork?
Why is Hermione giving me the finger on the artwork?
The filmmakers took the worst book and turned it into the second best film. I was amazed how well this one was edited.
I like the cover art. I hope that will be the 2-disc art if they are releasing single and double disc sets.
