Loved the film - one of the most original, wildly entertaining comic book movies ever - a complete joy.
I'm highly tempted to go with that 3-disc gift-set. We'll see what Santa brings me this year, eh?

This did randomly well in the UK, though I didn't think it was anything amazing. However the costumes and creatures in the film were outstanding.

At least that great artwork is now a poster instead of just a DVD case

This was an awesome film. I love Del Toro's films, but the first Hellboy didn't do the trick for me, and this was blew my brains out of the seat. Incredible sets and effects, great action sequences and even some nice romance thrown in for our pleasure. A total delight.

I love the one disc artwork!! The 3 disc artwork isn't that great sadly. Anyways i'm just going to get the one disc version because i wasn't exactly in love with this movie.

I'm liking it, this dvd looks nearly as good as Pan's Labyrinth.

I went to the cinema to see this today. Borderline awful film. The funny bits weren't, ah, funny. The Golden Army were the most pointless, non-threatening villains ever (they'll destroy the world! Except Hellyboy wiped about 100 of them out without blinking an eye) and the whole thing just didn't work.

Cool - BD for me although I would have preferred a Hellboy or a group statue...

Love the 3 disc artwork. I missed the movie in the theatre, but will definately pick it up. I love the pic of Selma Blair on the ad. Brings new meaning to the phrase "she's hot."

I'll def be buying, but, I'm not a special features w***e so i'll just go with the 1-disc.

I don't think there will be a DC since he was given much freedom with this movie...not as good as Iron Man, but better overall than TDK...will be getting the blu-ray (hopefully) for sure...nice artwork...

I agree 100%. I had to shelve out $30 for The eye (2-disc edition) because the 1-disc was bare bones. I think that they should include a lot of extra material on the 1-disc and make this 3-disc worth it too.

Am I the only one that thinks that either the theatrical or Drew Struzan posters would make much better cover art? I always found the original promos (including the HB one on the cover) to be mildly interesting, but overall a bit disappointing compared to the work from the first film.

Anyway, this movie kicked all kinds of ass, and should've been released in the fall to get the attention it deserves.

Blu Gift-Set for me!

amazing movie.  I liked the first one, but this one was definately an improvement over that one.  I'll definately pick it up on bluray.

I missed this in theatres but I will definately pick up the three-disc set.  The first one was great.
Even though I'm sure I'll love it I don't think I will need a digital copy.  I am not a hater of the digital copies but I would rather have them give us a code and retrieve the digital copy on iTunes rather than have a disc added to the set.

I remember an interview with Del Toro saying there won't be a Director's cut. He said all the scenes he cut were cut for a reason, he didn't like them and didn't feel they belong to the film. We'll get deleted scenes for sure, but no DC.

He said in that same interview how jam packed this dvd should be. Since day 1 of shooting, he has camera crews following him and the cast around, sort of a production diary. Del Toro, like Peter Jackson, really puts effort into his dvds.

Yeah I think you are.Think it`s totally useless. Even more irritating is the fact that it`s so largely written on a number of recent covers. If they put it on there, fine but don`t ruin the cover while doing it!! Look at the Wall-E cover for example...

As for this title: I`ll be getting the giftset to match the one of the first movie :D

I immensely enjoyed this. I'll be picking it up whenever the release is.

Thing is though, I doubt anyone would complain if the damn things were useful. Or like, not have it be the extra disc. Pack it in there sure, but like, beneath the plastic in a separate paper case or something (like the bundles at Wal-Mart or whatever). Because it's just the fact that they're using them to promote "2 disc sets" (in this case 3) when it's in fact 1 disc (2 discs) with an extra thing. If my copy of Juno hadn't come with a T-shirt, I'd have been royally pissed.

I loved this one. Much better than the first, but they're both really so similar to each other in terms of mood and tone and everything, that it's hard to sat that. I guess this one "did it for me" more.

Although I'll probably wait for something more akin to the [actual] 3 disc set of the first one.

I actually preferred the first film, but they were very different, and kudos to Maestro Del Toro for giving us some variety and not just the same stuff over again.

I'm DEFINITELY holding off on this one and waiting for the Director's Cut (The Digital Bits had information that there's something special in the works to match the first film's 3-disc set).

I liked Hellboy II: The golden army. It was a very good movie despite the beginning running slow. I will probably pick up the 3-disc edition but damn Universal stop using 3 discs just for an excuse of digital copies. Fox is doing them, Lionsgate is doing them, Disney is doing them, Sony is doing them, and now these people. It's getting out of hand.
