Hellboy (US - DVD R1)
We have some early details on the release of this new film
Title: Hellboy
Starring: Ron Perlman
Released: August 2004
SRP: TBC
Thanks to our friends at The Digital Bits we have some early details on Hellboy which stars the likes of Ron Perlman, Doug Jones, Selma Blair and John Hurt. Director Guillermo del Toro recently revealed in an interview that the theatrical cut of Hellboy will be arriving on DVD this August. This release will include a minimal amount of extra material, and the standard two hour cut of the movie. He then plans to release a two or three disc extended edition in December. This could include up to fourty-five minutes of deleted footage. A collector's set which includes a bust of Hellboy may also be available. Obviously, it's still very early days on this title, but we'll bring you more as soon as we hear anything. Stay tuned.

and considering that we will see it in the cinema even later than the americans will get their DVD (sept04) no one can really wait
Interesting. I liked the "Hellboy" comics, and "Blade 2" was fun enough. I'm hoping this will be, too.
Is this a fact!
Normaly the director does not choose when a DVD is to be released, that's usually up to the film distributors (Sony). So how true is this statement?
Also why are we not getting it in theatres in the UK untill Sept 4th?
I wanna see this on a big screen!
