Can I just be the first to call Universal 'Hella lame'? Seriously, what a bunch of con artists. They bang on about piracy, then offer us half of a TV series for more money than the US pays for the whole thing. No wonder people download it. £35 for half a series? Piss off.

Haha, the complete first season Region 1 is actually cheaper than this half-season set
What a rip-off.
Gotta say, I was shocked to see HMV and amazon offering the full season for £45. Most complete season sets (24, The West Wing, Smallville etc) start off at about £35... They're really milking the fact that this is so popular, but there's no way I'm getting this before it hits the sales.
And I'm proud to be an American,
Where at least I know it's cheap
And I won't forget
The guys who tried
To screw with my money
And I'll gladly stand up
With my complete
First season of this someday
Cause there ain't no doubt
You Brits got screwed
On the Heroes S1 Dee Vee Day
Yes, I have too much free time.

Amazon.com (the US site) delivers R1 DVDs at R1 prices to UK customers, so just buy from there.
Hello R1
F**k you R2 universal.
F**k you R2 universal.
Hopefully season 1 part 2 will have an unaired season finale with some the action scenes people were expecting. Who the hell buys these half a season box sets? Imagine if 24 was released like that on dvd.

Not if you want to pay customs charges. And they're far from the cheapest.

WOW< you guys got F * * K E D on your R2 release.
Thats officially me boycotting the Heroes DVD then.
Will make do with the Downloads I already have. If they'd have had the whole season at a reasonable price then I happily would have splashed out. But I refuse to bend over for them.

That's outrageous for half a season.
But you honestly can't say this comes as a surprise? This has been done on R2 many times before. (C.S.I, Twin Peaks etc.)

Even with customs charge, it's far cheaper than this DVD set (custom charge is a fixed amount).
However, I've had to pay custom charges with Amazon.com products. I'm guessing people just assume its ".co.uk".

If it's over £18 you run the risk of being stung for VAT and the RM charge of £8. There are several sites selling the R1 set with pre-paid duty etc. I can get the whole season for £ 26.99 delivered.

They already tried that here in Australia for several season, mind you, it didn't go down to well.

I have to agree as a whole it really hacks me off that we get so badly screwed when it comes to TV DVD's. I spent some time in the states a while ago and came home with a case full of R1 DVD's Including The Shield, CSI, Ren and Stimpy and Scrubs. When i got home i worked out what i had spent and i had got nearly 3 times as much when compared to what i would have spent over here. But as i have said before DVD manufacturers make such a big thing of "Don't Download" and yet for all their efforts they fail to realise that if they simply gave better value for money people wouldn't download as much....I would pay £39.99 if it was a whole season. Hell i'd even go as far as saying i'd pay £49.99 if the show was worth it.
Rant over....fight the power! ;D

I assume you mean part two of Season One?
Not too keen on the cover, it looks like a documentary series. And why bother putting DD 2.0 on?

Ouch. Well, my British brothren, I feel your pain. Think of all those cool releases that you guys got that we got shafted on. It'll be ok though, after the half-season set sells poorly they'll repackage it and sell the full set at a discount. And just in time for Christmas I'm sure!
Just import, you damn pikeys!
Oh, man. Translated into US currency, that's f*cking $70 for half a season! WTF, man?! For that much, you'd probably be able to get TWO full-season sets of "Heroes" over here!
Then again, y'all got "Hot Fuzz" more than a month before us...
Seriously, though. Why do they sell things by the half-season over there?

"Twins Peaks" was never split in the UK.
yeah, what a con job this is. And it's okay to say just import (and I agree everyone should have a multi-region machine by now!) but anything over £18 from America is then subject to customs charges and if you get a R1 copy from the UK you pay a good £15 more at least.
Unless I pay over the odds I can't, for example, pick up the 3rd season of "House" or the 2nd of "Bones" at the reasonable American prices due to them still being over £18 and thus subject to a customs charge and linked post office handling charge.
To get the widescreen r1 version of House" season 1 I had to resort to Ebay to avoid paying well over the odds.
A full season of "Heroes" on R1 is going to cost well over £18 so will be hit with a big charge, so the Uk punters are STILL hit even if they do have multi-region.

movietyme??
Try ordering from Movietyme or DVDWorldUSA as i think it is under £30 including dekivery and i think both customs friendly.
Think DVDWorldUSA were doing it for £26.99 including delivery but they have put the price up to £28.99 but still think they are one of the cheapest if not the cheapest.

The custom charges aren't very big here so I ordered the R1 DVDs from Amazon for 36$.
This half-season deal is ridicelous. They do it with Prison Break, with Lost and now with Heroes.
Also, Battlestar Galactica DVDs totallly suck in R2, have only bought R1 versions. Seriously, a mutliregional DVD player makes your lives a hell of a lot easier.
