Lionsgate Home Entertainment has revealed artwork for a new 2-disc special edition of High Noon which stars Gary Cooper, Grace Kelly, and Lloyd Bridges. The Fred Zinnemann directed film will be available to own from the 10th June, and should retail at around $19.95. Extras will include a commentary with Maria Cooper-Janis, Jonathan Foreman , Tim Zinnemann and John Ritter, a 50 minute documentary entitled “Inside High Noon”, a Tex Ritter: A Visit to Carthage, Texas featurette, a full length Tex Ritter performance of the Oscar-Winning Original Song “Do Not Forsake Me, Oh My Darlin’", a Making of High Noon featurette, a Behind High Noon featurette, and a radio broadcast. We've attached the official package artwork below:

I don't quite understand... What else could it have been filmed on other than film in those days? Any film out there can get a digital release.

I've actually never seen "High Noon" (I know, I should be shot), but I think I'll get this. I'm a little disappointed that there won't be a Blu-ray release, however.

I prefer the 50th Anniversary Collector's Edition cover but as long as the quality of the video, sound and features are upgraded, it's always worth it.

Glad I waited so long to purchase this! One of the top 3 Westerns of all-time (Unforgiven and Leone's Man with No Name trilogy being the others).

To make money. Studios always go back into the vaults and release supposedly "special" editions of films to make a quick buck. I haven't seen this film (then again I haven't watched many Westerns) but I'm sure it deserves an SE. You have to love the fact they call it an "Ultimate" Collector's Edition. Sometimes I really hate the way studios market films.
