Disney Home Entertainment has announced High School Musical 2 for the 23rd September. Retail will be $34.99. According to the press release, the film will be presented in 1.33:1 full frame along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include featurettes (Cast Favorites, On Location, In The Kitchen, Making Of The Exclusive Music Scene), a Music Video “All For One”, a virtual scrapbook bursting with exciting behind-the-scenes moments and more, an exclusive sneak peek at High School Musical 3, and a ticket to see the third film. No widescreen, no sale, no problem. And don't be fooled by the free ticket thing, they've hightened the price. It should be $29.98, not $34.99.

Why is there no region a Blu-Ray release, it is coming to BD in Europe, at least from what i saw. Still don't see why i bought this.

High School Musical didn't either, but they still brought out the 'Remix' edition and the original 'Encore Edition' suddenly went OOP.

People at Disney: You either buy the overpriced 2-Disc Deluxe Dance Edition with only 2 more special features than the original DVD or you go without.

Yeah, I think I'd go without. You can tape this off Disney Channel. It shows almost every weekend.

The High School Musical movies are cometimes cheesy but they are also quite decent. I have the original on DVD but I think i'll just but the original release of part 2. No need to get a 2 Disc for this movie.

so this must be a first.....a cable movie series has a sequel go theatrical. usually movies start in theaters and the sequels go DTV or worse...its a nice little twist. lol

They're smart to do it too. They should have done it with the second as well. The third will be a huge hit.

I'll pass though. I haven't seen any High School Musical movie, and I don't plan on ever doing so, even if I enjoy musicals. I only like the good ones.

And That blonde girl next to the kid with mushroom hair looks like Paris Hilton....and the black girl..is her forehead normally that massive or has it been photoshopped? I've never seen the High School Musical movies...but damn I want to punch them all in the face already.

Oh and the boy in the middle..his eyebrows are massive.

I hear Zac Efron's entire face - aside from his eyebrows - require one male virgin sacrifice a month to retain its youthful and bushy appearance.

Personally, I feel like the HSMs are the cause of degrade in good musicals.
