Loved this movie, but honestly Knocked Up made me laugh more and harder so I can't call this the best comedy of the year.

The Region 1 DVD will be released 24th July. Artwork hasn't been confirmed yet though.

R1 better have all those extras.The commentaries look hilarious.A commentary by the The Real Fuzz and one by Edger Wright/Simon Pegg.Awsome!!!Plus the towns people!

Jesus H. Christ... look at all those extras!!  Totally sweet - I'm gonna spend weeks going through all this stuff.  Thank you for putting the menu screens up!  Looking forward to "Hot Funk", "Dead Right", and "The Man Who Would Be Fuzz".  And thank f*ck they put the trailers on - I loved the trailers for this movie.

Thank you, Edgar Wright and Universal, for putting together a great DVD package!  Can't wait 'till June 24th!  (Actually, I'll probably receive it here in the states from amazon.co.uk a week after that...)

I want to see this bigtime. I hope we get a decent region 1 release, but we will probably get bare bones city compared to what is going to happen for Region 2. Oh well.

So I saw this in a packed theater, and I laughed out loud at the Chinatown joke. My guffaw rang out into total silence because I was the only person in the entire theater that got the joke. I felt both proud of and shamed by my movie geek sense of humor.

Hot Fuzz has performed FAR better than they expected - Universal are probably kicking themselves that they didn't give it a wider release...

I want to see this.  It was in limited number of theaters in the USA (825 screens), but it still managed to come in at number 6.   The extras sound cool.    I love the first two covers.  Hopefully Universal in the USA will use one cover as a slip cover and the other as jacket art.

Ok I saw it.Best comedy of the year and definitly best cop/action film spoof.Cannot wait for it on Region 1.The second artwork is my fav."Yeah, motherf**ker!," that about sums it up.Loved all the movie references,especially the Woo ones.

I never got round to seeing this in the theatre (it was released a few months back) so will have to check out the DVD. I've yet to see Shaun of the Dead too, this appeals to me more.

"Bensons World" can be good value but usually aren't and I've been messed around by them a couple of times so wouldn't recommend them. I hear "Foxy" are good but have never used them and the likes of:

Asda - Owned by Wallmart
Tesco - The British Wallmart, soon to be in the States
Sainsbury - Another supermarket
Woolworths - General store

Are also reliable but usually have pants prices. "HMV" is a music store like "Tower Records" and again reliable but again usually rubbish prices.

"101CD" are also reliable but again usually poor pricing.

The rest are very small companies and I've barely heard of them.

p.s - It's nice to see British films going down a storm in The States, a market not easy to break.

Don't know much about those cheapest sites on the list; Amazon UK and Sendit.com are both great.  (And remember that Amazon's listed price includes the VAT, which is removed in the checkout process.)  Seeing this tomorrow, ordered it tonight... :-)

I love all the covers, but the second one is the best. Cant wait to see this as i loved Shaun of the Dead.

Just got back from seeing it. It is bloody, and I do mean bloody, brilliant. Right now I'm thinking it is equal do SHAUN OF THE DEAD, if not a little better. Wright/Pegg/Frost have come up a new kind of parody film...one which is aware of the conventions of a particular genre, one that gently mocks those conventions & beats but also one that can stand on its own as part of that genre. The movie is a big smile from start to finish and a who's who of Brit comedy although it should be noted Timothy Dalton walks off with the film every time he is onscreen. I'll be picking up the R2 when it comes out and I'll be seeing the movie again in a few days.

I prefer the second cover. I was gonna wait for this to come down in price, but a look at those extras means I will be getting it straight away! Great film, Really funny. Hope it does well in the US this weekend.

I also hoped that the extras would have the guys video diary form their US promo tour.

I gotta still go see this in theaters, but I hope R1 gets this sweet dvd (preferably with the 2nd cover).
