So, basically what we got with some questionable stuff on the third disc.

I guess I should return the copy I recently bought, while I still know where the receipt is.
Wow that's a quick turn around on the double dip...and here I thought the whole Zodiac special edition thing was a bit of a cheat when they had a trailer for it on the initial DVD release. At least Paramount's waiting until next year on that one. Now I am glad I coughed up the extra $10 for the HD DVD that has all of the R2 extras.

It looks like it, disc 3 looks pants.
Was it ever confirmed the USA HD-DVD Combo ever got ALL the UK extras on the HD-DVD side? That's the one I want, while I wait to get HD-DVD capable.

Thought I just confirmed it.

Yes, the HD DVD has all of the extras found on the R2 two-disc set, but only on the HD DVD side of the disc; the standard DVD side is the same as the regular R1 DVD.

Sweet thanks Matt. I can wait to watch the (rest of the) extras when I get a HD-DVD Player.
It's good to see the HD-DVD side even gets all the 4 commentaries (whereas the USA DVD side only gets 1 commentary).

Yeah, a friend of mine was really disappointed in not being able to listen to the Sanford police and villager's tracks; they're both pretty good, though I haven't listened to the 'real police' track yet.

Phft
I own the R2 release. So the only new stuff is on disc 3? Don't think I'll double dip...
I just bought the Walmart exclusive which had everything but the commentaries. If I can re-gift I might get this one.
So the HD version has all the extras of disc 1 and 2? Guess I'm set...
Looks really unnecessary.
I am SO thankful I held off on buying this! Funniest movie I've seen in years (i.e. since "Sean of the Dead"
.
Well that came out of nowhere! Had there been any hint I wouldn't have bought the the recent release. That aside, this does look like an awesome set, but November is already becoming too expensive.
Weren't there only 4 commentaries? Looks like they've added the "Edgar Wright and Guest" track. Already bought the Wal Mart "exclusive" but given my track record, I'll probably end up getting this and either sell or giveaway my 2-disc copy.
So happy I didn't buy the 2 disk.Unfortunately I can't say the same for Pride and Prejudice.
"1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen"? Thought the movie was in 2.35:1... Wow. Edgar must have really gotten pissed at the whole Wal-Mart debacle and decided to release the edition the way he wanted to release it. I'm still gonna buy it, even though I have the UK 2-disc and the Wal-Mart 2-disc. I'm just stupid enough to do it. Besides, a dollar going to Edgar's pockets means more good movies from that crew!
Hey, Wilson Brothers - you wanna weigh in on this?

Wtf.
If this were an extended director's cut, I'd be furious. That's rather shady of Universal to announce a double dip so quickly after the initial release.
LOVE this movie, but I'm content with my single disc.

man...i was expecting this, but not so soon. i was just contemplating importing the 2-disk region 2 copy, but i'll definitely go with this one now.
What's "Directors Cut Trailer"
Well I take it this is a case of "inessential for those who own it, essential for those who don't."
As much as I loved this movie, I hate universal for doing this. I have the hd-combo so I guess I'm covered. I haven't checked out the hd side yet as I didn't get a hd-dvd player yet...
Wasn't terribly hung up on this or SOTD for that matter, recent brit comedy really does suck ass.
Glad I've been waiting for that one. I'll gladly give in the three disc edition. Now if only they could do the same with Shaun of the Dead...
This does actually appear to have a fifth commentary.
What a waste of money. Unless if this is a 3-Disc Extended Edition.
The "Director's Cut Trailer" is just Edgar Wright's version of the trailer. It features name credits for everyone, and it includes funny name credits for all the guns in the sequence where Angel is gearing up to take on the town. There is no "director's cut" of this movie, as this is the movie that Edgar wanted to make.
I will definitely buy this. I haven't bought it yet, so I'm glad this is coming out.
I'm just like Ray; I've already got the UK 2disc and the Wal-Mart 2disc... and I'll still buy this version. One of my favorite movies this whole decade, I'll buy any version they release.

Yo, Slapshot -
Good to know there's someone out here thinking along the same lines. To me, there can be never enough Wright/Pegg/Frost collaborations. Cheers.
