Feb 28 wow I thought we would have to wait until April since it was still in the theaters

I miss this time, you know, back when "special" and "features" actually meant something when put together? Ah well, there's always the possibility of making this yet another "Transformers Dark of the Moon", so see you in three months-time?
I'm not so sure that will happen. Then again, "Hugo" did fail to make its money back so we'll just have to see.

Martin Scorsese is a master at what he does! His films are truely wonders to behold. It kills me that I still haven't seen Hugo yet. But to be completely honest, this looks nothing like a Scorsese film. The fact that he made a movie in 3D makes me raise an eyebrow. When I saw the trailer, it looked waaayyy too childish for my liking. It looked like one of those old kid films from the mid 90's, early 00's. I had to make sure that it actually said 'A Martin Scorsese Film'. But, hey, it's a MARTIN SCORSESE film! And you know it's worth the watch if the 3D is being called better than Avatar's. And I'm pretty sure it's going to be nominated for a handful of oscars. Will def check it out when it releases. Great cover art as well!
I loved Hugo, I can't wait to see it again on Blu ray!
Really wanted to see this in theatres, I know some are still screening it. Will buy for sure when it hits stores.
Such a gorgeous, heartfelt movie. It was definitely nice leaving a Martin Scorsese film with a smile on my face for once.
I am surprised Paramount is making the Blu-ray 3D edition limited. I don't think you're losing much if you've seen it in 2D, but the 3D experience is remarkable. Note to rival studios: THIS is the way to do 3D filmmaking. Don't thrust things out at the audience or do a hasty conversion.

Beautiful artwork for a beautiful, breathtaking movie. I agree with horrorfan25. "Hugo" shows a unique love for cinema, and the fact it utilizes 3D as an enhancement rather than a gimmick is exquisite.
Honestly speaking, I feel as though anyone who rated this film lower than an "8" didn't really digest everything the film had to offer. People are concentrating their thoughts on just the main storyline, when they fail to take in other subplots into account. This film dealt with the appreciation of cinema, finding your purpose in life, taking pity on the poor, feeling like being apart of a family, friendship. When you look at the film through those perspectives, it really stands out THAT much more. What made this film extraordinary though besides the aforementioned subplots, was how fantastic the performances were all around and the cinematography. If you're solely judging this film on visuals alone, it'd easily get a "10". And the 3D? In my opinion, even BETTER than "Avatar's". To me, this film is dangerously close to being perfect. It has all the elements to being an absolutely fantastic film (acting, direction, cinematography) sans some pacing issues. I believe this film deserves no less than an "8". It's sad how most people will miss out on such an intelligent film or don't appreciate one, yet they have the balls to pay ten dollars to see two pasty, constipated partners in the same monotone facial expression for the next two hours.

And his love for movies as a medium and his continued efforts for film preservation have only contributed to make him even more relevant and necessary to the so-called 7th Art. He his a true gift for all us cinema lovers, one that we could never be thankful enough for.
But HUGO is a mess of a movie, a bland, weakly paced story, too mature for children and too childish for grownups. A movie that felt so uninvolving, so limp and lifeless, so boring (only its Melies' recreations offer the slightest glimpse of some spark of emotion) that I felt really sorry it came from such a master.
I agree, this film was pretty lousy but the 3d was good

My second favorite film of the year. Too bad it didn't make much money in the box office.
This was such a great movie. One of the movies I have been commanding to see. The cast was great. I even think Asa Butterfield and Chloe Moretz had excellent chemistry. Martin Scorsese did a great job directing this film. Just tell me the release date of the movie and I'll say first day buy!!!
Really great movie. I'd give it an A-
