Thinking about it and I would probably get this if they included the previous movies in the box set as well....
I'm perfectly happy with my 2-disc edition with the Best Buy steelbook case.
I have the Best Buy steelbook and that's fine for me.
If they had used the same ending that was in the book, and this movie were about 20 minutes longer, I would consider buying this.
But no. I'm not spending that much money on a 90 minute movie with a stupid ending.

I watched this film last night (alternate version) and something about the end has me puzzled..........
In the film they show the Air Force destroying the bridges out of brooklyn to seal off the island and yet at the the end of the film they drive out across what appears to be a perfectly undamaged bridge?
How is this possible? it looks like the bridge has previously been barricaded but not destroyed?
Any ideas?

I Am Not Going To Fu**ing Buy This
One man's quest to end DVD double, triple, & quadruple dips & taking on the ultimate challenge: ending the marketing of digital copies.
I own this on HD-DVD. That's as far as I'm going with this movie.

why don't they include the novel as well? This film originated with a novel... why don't they just include it? Something all box sets are missing are the novels the movies themselves originated from. completely original movies excepted, of course.
I hope I'm not the only one who's thinking this and I hope I'm not just being paranoid, but this really makes me fear for The Dark Knight's DVD and Blu-Ray release.
I'm afraid that WB is gonna f**k us over upon its intial release with very few extras on the two-disc (like they did with HP5) and release a collector's set six or so months later (like 300 and IAL).
Anyone else think this?

I love the idea of these ultimate sets, however this movie really doesn't even come close to deserving one. Passola for me!
Have the steelbook and don't need anything else... but holy hell that is cool artwork.
As nice as the set is, I Am Legend was just mediocre for me. Pass!
I really don't know if I'm going to buy this or not. I actually should say that I'm going to buy the original release once the prices go down, but buying this can be a bit much. Maybe I'll get this for the Digital Copy.
From the cover, it looks like INDEPENDENCE DAY 2. Will Smith's being beamed up to rid the world of aliens yet again!
Maybe once I find a copy of it for $20 in the used bins at Newbury Comics sometime in the next year or two...but it is a worthwhile buy for anyone who DID like the movie (such as myself).
Very Pointless!!!!
I think I'll pass on this until the Director's Cut arrives and believe me.............it will arrive
There must be a load of stuff on the cutting room floor so to speak, for instance even one of the extras shows the Shelby from the opening of the film being put through a jump test for a scene that didn't even make the final film
Not to mention the super secret location Neville hides all his cars in, first he drives a Shelby, then a Station Wagon and finally a 4x4 type thing.......... there's a lot of gaps that need filling in

Its quite simple. People complain about them because they buy the intial release, not knowing if or when a new edition will be released. If a new edition comes out, with better content, fans may well feel tempted to buy it so that they have access to all the extras/content from both releases. People are mad I guess because all the studios should do is release an extras-laden edition from the outset and make that do.

¿Romero?
Yeah, he is the right man for the job right? It could've turned out really cool and memorable like Land of the Dead, right? I mean, Land of the Dead was so damn cool. Romero's lost it. Sorry, but it's true.
this one was really good... but i dont think i could waste money on some movie i wouldnt watch more than 3 times... lol
I really don't see why people complain and get so nad about "Doudle-Dips", it's not like the studio releasing it is holding a gun to your head andsaying "BUY IT NOW!". If don't want to buy it, don't. There's no need to get so angry... I'm also a sucker for pretty packaging and fancy boxsets, and I wanted to but never got around to buying I Am Legend, so this works out quite nicely for me. I just need to find somewhere that'll import it to South Africa, since Amazon stopped shipping here...
'I really don't see why people complain and get so -nad- about "Doudle-Dips"'. So "nad"? Why the hell did I write "nad"? I meant "mad"... Ha, nad...

I'll stck with my BD which cost me less than $16......
Didn't see this one coming (can you feel the sarcasim???)

60 for I Am Legend? Man, I'm getting a Blu Ray real soon.
Overrated film+ 50 dollar (unnecessary) double dip =big pass
According to DVDTimes;
Disc 1 (Theatrical Version):
* Commentary by director Francis Lawrence and producer-screenwriter Akiva Goldsman
* Theatrical trailer
Disc 2 (Alternate Version):
* Includes Digital Copy
Disc 3 (Additional Content):
* Creating I Am Legend
* Cautionary Tale
* The Making of I Am Legend
* I Am Legend: The Making of Shots
* Deleted Scenes with optional commentary by Francis Lawrence and Akiva Goldsman
So beside the packaging and the collectibles items, the only new stuff on this release are the commentary, deleted scenes and 2 features.

Thank God! I liked the movie and I waited for something "better" to come out..but now I think it's too expensive.
Christ, that didn't take long.
I've only two BRDs so far. Looks like my initial hesitation paid off.

First Casino Royale and now I Am Legend. The double-dip trend finally makes it's debut on BD....I knew it wouldn't take long for those b*****d suits to start it up....
This is one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time...
Good premise, although, somewhat sloppy... and the EFX work is just god awful... how do you think you can get away with a huge blockbuster with CGI this bad?...
Terrible.

Deleted Scenes? Why couldn't they just make this an extended cut.
They should've released this in the first place with the two cuts on one disc via seamless branching...nice boxset anyways...if only...
I passed on the initial DVD because of how much of a rip-off it was (Expensive 2-disc edition with basically no extras, while the BD had them), so I might actually grab this one.
Pass.

I already have the current Blu-ray release of I Am Legend, and it's great enough without having to double dip. PASS!!
Read the book instead!
That’s one sick looking box set too bad the movie sucked.
the best buy steelbook is all i'll ever need for this film. i enjoyed it, but it's not something i will ever need to buy beyond that.
I never got into buying the original copy for "I Am Legend" when it was on DVD. I missed every chance in buying that movie. I wanted it for my birthday, but instead, my little sister paid me to get "National Treasure: Book of Secrets," which was actually more important than this. Now, I feel happy that I waited.
I am Legend - the cigar box edition!
Overkill. I can see now that studios will continue to reward our loyalty with double/triple dip Blu-rays just as they have been doing with DVDs for 10 years now. I'm happy with my one-disc, two-version, sparse special features I will probably never watch anyway. I'm a sucker for double-dips, but only when it significantly adds to the movie's experience.
This one is unnecessary, as much as I like Will Smith.

Didn't the previous 2 disc ed. have the "two versions" of the film, with the different endings? I'm a sucker for fancy sets too, especially extended editions, but c'mon... this seems pointless.
so they finally decide to release a proper edition with more extras. I wish it was a little cheaper. I could do without the lenticular image.
i'm a sucker for fancy box sets but i already have the blu-ray of this. maybe i'll sell my copy to my brother and use that money to pay half that box....yes i'm sad. lol
Just like the 300 DVD.
