Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced the Blu-ray release of I, Robot for the 19th of May, priced at around £22.99. Disc specs are likely to be identical to the US release, but we haven't had confirmation at this time. Here's the artwork.

Then buy the 2 Disc SE DVD which has way more extras!

This isn't a BD SE and just a regular 1 disc affair.

Why would it need two discs? The whole point of BD is that you can fit more on a single disc. If it is a copy of the US disc it will have three commentaries, deleted scenes and more.

I was responding specifically to Phil who hasn't bought into HD

Which is much, much less than the DVD. The BD extras only replicate what is on Disc 1 of the DVD. They could've easily fitted (as you said) the rest on the existing BD50, but chose not to.

Have got the Region A BR disc. The PQ and AQ blow the standard def DVD out of the water!! At time, t looks like it's in 3-D. Absolute must buy if you want a great flick and some new demo material!

Yep, I have been disappointed with studios releases on Blu Ray back catalogue releases - high prices, lack of special features and no director/extended cut's for some titles (eg. Independence Day, WindTalkers).

I enjoy I, Robot but just glad I have a decent upscaler DVD player and can't see me upgrading this title to Blu Ray.

Pre-Order my I, Robot: Blu-Ray Region A (US) among other BDs, should shipped this Tuesday. I already own the I, Robot Head ver and can't wait for the Blu-Ray to arrive, heard excellent comments about the PQ and AQ!

I think you're forgetting that DVD was in more or less the exact same position several years ago. Platforms take time to establish, they're never perfect a few month in, and for what it's worth I think Blu-ray is ahead of DVD at the same point in its life.
