I find Owen Wilson as lame as his brother....
We just got the poster at my theatre and I just hung them up!!That sux, really looking foward to this one
How come I smell a double dip coming if this does well on DVD? hmmmm.
I would have seen this movie if itever opened anywhere close to me. Too bad for Mike.
This actually released where I am (and I think it's still showing in one location)but I never got out to go see it. I'll pick it up anyway.
The same thing happened when Fox dumped "Stay" last year as well. Two high-concept films got sucked off by Fox into great almost-DTV films that got delayed a little over a year.
How's this for a new title: Fox Screws Mike Judge 100X Over!

Sounds good, will get it in a heartbeat. And to those bemoaning it's limited release, I live in the U.K and didn't even know it exsisted until today !!
I am not even going to go on about the hypocrisy of Fox and its releases because they continually release far worse garbage than this but I will say I still can not believe that this was not released in theaters, even in limited release. I figure that Fox would capitalize on the cult success of Office Space by giving this a shot, but I guess the marketing execs are the same type of people as the ones that are on both sides of Luke Wilson on this cover (who ironically enough looks how Mike Judge probably looked when Fox told them about this film's dumping). Mike Judge is funny for the most part, even though I can't for the life of me see why Office Space is such a cult hit, (I bought it figuring it was going to be great but I was pretty disappointed in it, in retrospect, I should watch it again and give it a second try). Why did Fox even allow him to make this if they were going to pull this?
Mr. Pelicula wrote: The general audience, believe it or not, is too stupid to like a movie that makes fun of stupid people.Makes me think of The Onion: Our Dumb Century: "New Show About Idiots Who Watch MTV Big Hit Among Idiots Who Watch MTV"
fox really f**ked mike on this one.
I was really looking forward to seeing this at the theaters, but I never got the chance to...
But here is what pisses me off - stupid comedies (the ones aimed at teenage boys and usually use only toilet humor) and remakes of video games get released in 3000 theaters, but this movie gets dumped in 10. Idiocracy can't be as bad as those stupid flicks, and I'm sure it would've grossed the same amount of money they did even if it had horrible reviews (which from what I head it didn't). So I'm completely baffled by this idiotic decision.

First off, anybody wanting to see this just because of Office Space is coming in with the wrong expectations. Office Space is a great movie, but WAY different than this film. This film is more along the lines of Beavis & Butt-head, which coincidentally did the same thing this movie does, which is criticising stupidity using stupid humor.
And I'm pretty sure that's why this movie got buttf**ked so badly by studio execs. The general audience, believe it or not, is too stupid to like a movie that makes fun of stupid people.

I think it's pretty awful art. Why it would say "From the Creator of Office Space, Mike Judge" instead of "From Mike Judge, the Creator of Office Space" and use Luke Wilson mugging for the camera instead of, you know, anything that resembled or represented the movie whatsoever is beyond me. But I guess if 20th Century Fox knew how to market the movie, then it wouldn't be getting an almost-DTV release, would it?
If the tagline has been "The moron says DUH!", it would be the best cover ever.
I remember hearing about this way back when it was released (It seems like way back at least).
Whatever did happen to Baby Jane?

i haven't blind buyed in over 5 years now, but I love office space, I might just have to take a chance and buy it or at least rent it then buy it the next day if it's anygood.they did get screwed over big time, with all the s**t that's ot there in theaters already I don't know why they would choose not to release it.
Office Space is one of my favorite comedies of all-time and I'll definately give Judge the benefit of the doubt and pick this up. It must have been really badly promoted though because this is actually the first I've ever heard of the movie!
from the looks of it...i am the only person so far that thought this movie sucked!!! I was so looking forward to it also. i'm an "office space" fan...and this was no "office space"...or "king of the hill"...or "beavis and butt-head." there were very few chuckles...i could probably count them on one hand and still have my thumb and index finger left. the title served dual purpose. this was a really dumb movie. this movie left me complaining that I spent $7.00...there's no way in hell i'm gonna spend &27.98.
As sad as it would be, I think Fox dumped this in theatres without any ad campaign so that they could sell the same story of a movie bombing in the Box Office, only to soar on video. Like that would only make the movie more popular in the coming years on DVD then it would have been in theatres.
Just a guess though. Either way I'll check it out, it never came to Kansas City.

I saw it during it's limited run, it surprisingly was dumped at my theater for two weeks. It's pretty funny, not as good as Office Space but manages a few dumb chuckles throughout. Definitely worth a view if you're a Judge or Office Space fan.
the single worst marketing campaign of all-time. With Office Space cult status, Luke Wilson star power, and and intrigung premise going for it, not to mention well-received reviews, this could have made about 75 million. But, rather than putting this out, they screwed it over. And instead, Luke Wilson's My Super Ex-Girlfriend was released. Wow.
Blind buy for me
Blind buy for me
it actually wasnt straight to dvd... it had a VERY limited theatrical run... I don't get why the studio dumped this.. considering the cult status of Office Space.. it makes no sense that they dumped this.. unless it is horrible.. but I have heard to the contrary on that
Straight to f**king video???!!? What the hell is going on?
