Quote: Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in this sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best there is at extraction: stealing valuable secrets inside the subconscious during the mind’s vulnerable dream state. His skill has made him a coveted player in industrial espionage but also has made him a fugitive and cost him dearly. Now he may get a second chance if he can do the impossible: inception, planting an idea rather than stealing one. If they succeed, Cobb and his team could pull off the perfect crime. But no planning or expertise can prepare them for a dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy only Cobb could have seen coming.

What a silly thing to say. I enjoyed it. Thought it was one of the best movies of the year, in fact. But why would you insult intelligent people that didn't enjoy the movie? To feed your own ego?

Great movie.
Di Caprio is getting better and better as an actor. Another great movie that he is in.

I didn't find 2010 to have a particularly strong crop of movies, so the "Best Movie Of The Year" title doesn't really mean what it should IMO. I should say of all the movies I've seen this year, I enjoyed The Town the most.
See Toy Story 3. That's the best film of 2010.

I'm not stupid but I really hate this movie. As said before, it's extremely pretentious, boring, and overly long. It's trying way too hard to be The Matrix but it fails spectacularly. Just like Avatar, which was ripped off from much better movies. The real morons are the people that want to seem cool, which they aren't, and so they say that the movie is so complicated and complex that only someone extremely smart like themselves can completely understand it. I've never seen such arrogance. I understand the movie. But I also like to think for myself, so I can tell you that it was a suck movie. I couldn't care less what the worthless losers think.
I enjoyed the movie, but I agree with you on the notion that people are trying to act cool when it comes to defending the film.

the thing is, this movie isn't deep or complex at all. if you actually pay attention, which you should always do with any movie anyway, then its all laid out perfectly clear. i too kept hearing about how complicated or whatever it was supposed to be and then i saw it and wondered if those people are just idiots who are easily impressed.
i mean i thought it was a very good movie, totally worth seeing in theaters but complex it was not. maybe the concept seems complex if you try and explain it to someone who hasnt seen it but all you have to do is watch, any moron could understand it.
that said i just recently saw the South Park spoof and it was pretty funny hearing them confuse people by trying to explain how it all works...and being the huge Nightmare fan i am, Freddy was a nice touch. lol

Good point, Matt
I didn't see The Town right when it came out cause of all the hype. So when I finally got around to it, people were already hyping the Social Network instead. HAhaH
Now granted, I haven't seen The Social Network yet. So that very well could take the "Best Movie Of The Year" mantle.

South Park did a fantastic job of spoofing Inception.
I think Nolan is too an intelligent film maker for his own good and misses the fun element.
This is one of the greatest movies of our time. Hats off to Christopher Nolan.
The rear of the BD is odd. It doesn't say anything about the film at all.

No because the Digital Copy, will be a Data disc designed for computers. It's unlikely to work in BD Players or DVD Players. I cannot imagine why the BD wouldn't have all the DVD extras.

This might be a dumb question, but will the Blu-ray edition include all the features of the DVD release? One would think this would be the case...would they simply be on the DVD copy that comes with the Blu-ray?
Only the Blu-Ray comes with the trailers? Well, ain't that a b * * * h.
Got ya billy. Yeh 2010 really hasnt been a great year.
I went into the town with sky high expectations tho. I prolly would have enjoyed it more had i not built it up too much

How about I give Warner $5, and they give me a blu-ray disc w/ only the "hallway fight sequence" on it, and we'll just call it a day.
I can see that perspective, Matt.

I prefer the town over this, but i wouldnt call that the best movie either. It was a lot more conventional and has great scenes but never came together for me. But put it this way, i'd much rather watch the town again than inception.
I really liked Inception, but The Town is the best movie of 2010.
No offense to the heady crowd who will no doubt shred that opinion in favor of the "genius" of Chris Nolan, but The Town had a much better flow, and transitioned their action sequences seemlessly. Where Inception, while brilliantly shot and written, had some lag in the transitions and ultimately left SOME people (not everyone, and not even myself) a little bored and disconnected. Don't get me wrong here, I'm not saying Ben Affleck is a better director than Nolan. I'm saying The Town is a better overall movie.

Avatar was awful. It's pretty easy for a film to be better than it. Seriously though, this is one of the best films ever. Day one blu ray for sure.
No offense but both movies are movies I would see only once.

I hear ya. "Shutter Island" had a terrible ending but ehh...it is what it is. My favorite Leo movie is "The Departed."

There is no excuse anymore to not nuy a blu ray player. Get with the trend and buy a blu ray player you will not be disappointed and you will see DVD is a dying format
Some people really don't care. Unless you have a 40+ inch TV, HD doesn't make much of a difference from 5 or 6 feet away, so honestly why don't you grow up and stop "picking on people" who could care less about an upgrade in resolution. I am not in any hurry to even buy an HD TV because my eyes aren't bleeding from anything lower then 1080.
Seriously talking to some people it seems they are children who were born 5 years ago at most who have such sensitive eyes they simply cannot handle anything under 720. It's like in a few years I will be able to go on a mass killing spree simply by rolling my 36 inch Toshiba tube around an elementary school with a VHS player hooked up to it.

Quite possibly my favourite Nolan film (on par at least with TDK and Memento). Such a great heist movie with some of the best cinematogaphy and film editing I've seen in years. I really hope this film isn't ignored come Oscar season and Nolan finally gets some due in either a screenplay or directing nomination

Yes, it's rare and incredibly brave to bring out such sophisticated film for a summer release. Of course, Nolan was only able to get such budget and freedom from the studio due to his success with TDK.
In my opinion, all this film ask its audiences, is to engage and think intellectually with the film, a rare thing to see from hollywood productions nowadays, especially in the midst of mindless summer blockbusters.
Nolan is indeed at the very top of his game at the moment, can't wait to see what he comes up with next after the finale of his Batman Series.

There's nothing complex about Inception at all, the damn movie explains everything to the audience. Sorry it wasn't in bright red crayon, ffs!

The cover art sucks but it's great to see Warner Bros. do a Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy Combo for action movies. But this movie was so long and it was so boring.
This will be one of the rare BDs that I buy the day it comes out, even if it means paying 29.96 plus tax.
Finally! About time they announce this!

One of the best (THE best?) movies of the year, one of Nolan's better films, and better than Avatar
. Ok, that last part was a jab.

I thought it was by far THE best movie of the summer. Nolan's films tend to grow after each viewing. He's got this fail-safe button on any movie of his.
While this edition probably has the most drab poster of the entire marketing campaign, I feel like I'll be creating my own cover that suits my tastes a lot more.
Feels like this edition may definitely NOT be the last. Cbundoc may be right about this. A 2-disc booklet edition such as The Exorcist surely will see the light of day anytime this title sells a few million copies.

I see a better Blu-Ray release coming in the near future. A 2 Disc booklet edition or something...will get it, but maybe ill hold out for a bit.

Yes, great movie, but absolutely an awful cover art!
This looks pretty light on extras. Appearing on the same disc, those extras can't be more than 10 minutes each. Hopefully the UK 2 Disc-DVD release would be better. Looking forward to it!
This movie and Scott Pilgrim saved the summer of 2010.
Well, here it is, finally. Must-have Blu-ray purchase of the holiday season. So glad about the news that Tom Hardy is gonna be in Batman 3. IMHO, his character had all the best lines and stole every scene he was in....
"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling!"
BOOM!!
"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling!"

I myself am also hoping the US gets that exclusive briefcase set.
Heard the Blu-ray has an interactive Extraction Mode "in-movie" viewing option, the Dreams: Cinema of the Subconscious featurette, the Inception: The Cobol Job animated prequel short, an interactive 5.1 Inception Soundtrack option with composer Hans Zimmer, a gallery of conceptual and promotional artwork, trailers and TV spots and the Project Somnacin: Confidential Files BD-Live option.
I loved this movie and have been waiting for it. I found that, of all Chris Nolan's movies, this had the most heart. You really feel for the characters - something I couldn't do with his cerebral films like Memento and Following, no matter how much I enjoyed them.
I'm hoping for a briefcase edition too. If it doesn't release in the US then I may order it from the UK. Hopefully, like other WB discs that will be region free.

Only a couple of people bagging on the artwork, amazing. Usually it's a slam-fest of whiners.
I digress, I really enjoyed this movie and it did live up to the hype. Pretty done buying DVDs. Physical media is soon to be, for the most part, a dead horse but it is nice to know when movies are released for possible On-Demand viewing.

This movie is overrated but it's still a good movie. It's just not the "best movie ever made" like people are shouting off the top of their lungs.
Great movie, will pick it up on day one. Glad to see the DVD won't be completely extra-free. Would rather have a 2-disk set, but oh well. Like the cover art. Where is Marion Cotillard though?
Great movie, absolutely AWFUL cover art
Loved this movie. It asks the viewer to concede on a lot of details, but if you accept the rules of the film's world, it sure is a satisfying watch. The scenes filmed in 65mm should look great on blu-ray. Hopefully the scenes shot in 35mm won't be riddled with edge-enhancement like The Dark Knight disc.
Will there be a super ultimate awesome edition??? IF so I'll get that.
No super edition like the UK? Oh well still buying it street date
Warner Brothers better not muck up the DVD's picture quality like they did with "The Dark Knight" and "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." I'll be likely getting the Blu-ray + DVD combo pack, but still WB needs to stop slacking off.
Great movie BTW. You don't see original movies much nowadays, let alone good ones.

I own all of Christopher Nolan's films on Blu, and whereas I never got around to this, I will either blind-buy or ask for it for Christmas.
This film is simply awesome, just pure awesome!!
About freakin' time!! Day one Blu-ray purchase!!

An absolute must-own. I saw this one four times and I'm already counting it in my top 5 of all-time. Fingers crossed for an American version of that briefcase edition Blu-ray announced in the UK.
i cant wait to watch the snow chase and the hallway fight in Hi-Def. i freaking love the music during those scenes.
It's ok if this movie didn't appeal to the not-so-bright people in society. It's not for everyone.
My all-time favorite film tied with Pulp Fiction and The Lord of The Rings Trilogy. Saw it three times in theaters. Buy bluray first day. SO PUMPED!!! And hopefully we'll get the briefcase edition.
MEH!
This movie was, by far, the best movie of the year. I was bombarded by impossible to live up to hype from critics and people who saw it before me and somehow it still lived up to all expectations and blew me away. This and Let Me In are my favorites of 2010!
Any news on the “Limited Special Briefcase edition” on US, like the UK edition
no offense to anyone who liked this but i found this movie pretentious and up it's own a$$. it DOES have incredible imagery and a good cast.
Happy for everybody. I think Christopher Nolan could do a better job in making movies than that. This movie went on for too long and it was so boring. The cast was amazing and it was a great concept, but it lost a whole point into making it. I thought THE DARK KNIGHT was a whole lot better.
GREAT MOVIE! About time this announcement came out. I have to have it on blu-ray.
Lets hope the Blu-Ray includes a Maximum Movie Mode.
