Sweet. Probably my least favorite Nolan film, but still a solid movie. I'd like to see the original get a blu-ray release too.

I had a feeling this would come out to promote Inception. I'll pick it up for sure. I'm a huge Nolan fan, so I benefit in 2 ways. One by getting a free ticket and this. Good news. Just give me a Memento double dip as well and the Following and I'm good with my Nolan releases.
Never saw it. But heard great things about it
I LOVE this movie. Also much better than the original too. Very solid film. I had been wondering when this would come to blu ray. This, collateral, matchstick men and the weatherman were some I had wondered why they never made way to either HD format, of course now its only blue. I know collateral just came out but they have taken forever
C**p, watered down remake, watch the original instead. Hopefully Criterion will release that on Blu as well...
Finally!....this one has been on my Top 10 most wanted Blu's since the beginning of the format. The only ones left from my initial list are Amelie (R1 not the import), Se7en, The Ghost and the Darkness and a triple tag team of trilogies from Lucas, Spielberg and Zemeckis. 2010 is looking absolutely EPIC in terms of catalog releases. Can't wait 'til the waning days of summer when we start getting the scoops on all the Q4 announcements (I'm looking at you, Marty McFly and Dr. Jones!)
YES!! I knew this would be announced soon for release around the time 'Inception' comes out. I love this movie.
What's great is I recently sold my DVD copy just because I had a feeling this would be released. And a free movie ticket to "Inception"? Even better...

I'm getting it, definitely better than the original which I also have on DVD. Now if only "Memento" would get a special edition Blu and "Following" would be released on Blu, I'd be stoked.
Believe Me Guys Insomnia(2002) is The Best Acting Work Of Al Pacino Till Date.
This is a very good movie in its own right, and while AP is good, you have a very surprisingly good performance by Robin Williams as well.
I still prefer the original version though. AP's version of the protagonist has only one failing but is otherwise a great cop. The original is far more corrupt and crazy.

If u look the ticket is only $7.50 off but u wish it could give u more off. Ticket prices now start at around 7 so if u see the night show u would most likely pay the remaining which isnt bad, but its not entirely free. I also wish they'd give some new extras.
Love this film! Amazing acting, sceneary and story. Al Pacino best work yet, very dark role for Robin Williams and adding Hilary Swank is not bad either. All Oscar winners, I cant wait to buy on blu ray.

I saw Nolan's "Insomnia" version first, and I think it's a pretty solid remake, carefully crafted to be a bit more palpable for American audiences. It stands on its own, and only pales when compared against the original. Stellan Skarsgard completely inhabited that role and permanently cemented the film in my mind, but I really can't say the same for the remake.

Is anyone fimilair with the 1987 movie The Cure for Insomnia that was considered the longest film ever in a lenght of 85 hours?
Solid film. Quite possibly Nolan's most underrated film (Okay may be a tad lower than Following).
I'm a big Pacino's fan and this is one of his last great performances.
His best performances are still The Godfather Part II, Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico IMHO.

Perfect! I wanted to get it on DVD but after hearing this, I'm glad I waited. Definitely picking this up. I haven't seen the original myself(but very open to when I see it available) but I really liked this film. Very moody.
Which reminds me, I should double-dip The Prestige on Blu-Ray. Already own it on DVD but definitely worth to own on Blu-Ray.

Agree totally. This movie is vastly overrated.

Says you. I tend to think it's more on the underrated side, although thanks to the surge in Nolan's popularity after the merely above average Dark Knight (says ME), it should be somewhere in the middle now...despite the fact that I think TDK is no awe-inspiring piece of film (it's solid, just not earth-shattering), I have a fair bit of resentment for that film's random mega-success. My favorite film since 2000 has been - and still is - Memento, but if I tell someone that today it's somehow considered a "fashionably hip" response, and one that is completely uninspired. God, how I loathe you, Dark Knight!

Memento will always be my favorite and not to mention first Nolan film. Although The Prestige and Insomnia comes up really close behind.
In relation to Insomnia, I actually like to see Nolan do another movie set in Alaska/Pacific Northwest (the movie's Nightmute was actually filmed in BC Canada)

Yeah, but so is the original. They're both pretty "meh".

I actually enjoy the new artwork.
The new front cover is pretty great. Can't say the same about the "THRILLER!!" bit on the back, but what can you do.
Loving the revised cover, it's totally awesome. The scene depicted on the cover is actually quite an important scene in the film.
Yes, awesome cover.
Interesting change of box art. Not sure if I like it more.
Whats to love about the revised cover? It looks like a basic foggy Silent Hill cover. Honestly it looks ridiculous. The OFFICIAL theatrical poster used for the DVD was the exact appropriate cover to use.
I love the revised cover art. Day one purchase for me.
Not sure if I want to love or hate the new cover. All I see is a grainy picture of Al Pacino and Robin Williams. Yes, that's not fog. It's static graininess. Ugh. Good idea, poor execution.
I'll still buy the movie though.
