terrible music
I got about halfway through this movie and realized just how bad the music was. I don't know whe scored it, but they should never score a movie again. It all sounded like a U2/Phillip Glass fusion. The movie was watchable, but the music made it unbearable. Did I mention the music was bad?
Iron Jawed Angels
Saw this at the Sundance Film Festival Premiere this year - What a film! In the audience (the row in front of me!!!) sat Julia Ormand and director Katja Van Garnier...incredible. Believe it or not, I spoke to Ms. Garnier after the screening and asked her about the choice of contemporary music for this period film - she said that her intention was to remind viewers that the female characters in the film are no different than women of today. I thought it worked very well - and so did the audience - one of the only standing ovations I was privy to. And to think, I was actually bummed that I was missing other films to see a movie about "women's suffrage" - an extremely pleasent surprise and an easy recommend.
What da heck is up with that cover???
It looks so cheap and slapped together. Doesn't even show what the flick is about.
It looks like a crappy Like Water For Chocolate rip-off.
