Quote: The small town of Pacashau, Georgia, has fallen on hard times, but the people are counting on the Divinity Church Choir to lift their spirits by winning the National Joyful Noise Competition. The choir has always known how to sing in harmony, but the discord between its two leading ladies now threatens to tear them apart. Their newly appointed director, Vi Rose Hill (Latifah), stubbornly wants to stick with their tried-and-true traditional style, while the fiery G.G. Sparrow (Parton) thinks tried-and-true translates to tired-and-old.
Shaking things up even more is the arrival of G.G.'s rebellious grandson, Randy (Jeremy Jordan). Randy has an ear for music, but he also has an eye for Vi Rose's beautiful and talented daughter, Olivia (Keke Palmer), and the sparks between the two teenagers are causing even more heat between G.G. and Vi Rose.
If these two strong-willed women can overcome their differences and find a common voice, they–and their choir–may make the most joyful noise of all.

I was disappointed in this movie, I wanted it to be much better.
The trailer looked absolutely horrendous, almost like a cheap man's "Dreamgirls".
Oh god. Just announce Sherlock Holmes. What's so difficult about that?!?!?!
It seemed cute enough for a rental. Just hope it isn't "too" religious. I don't like preachy movies.

Yet another useless spam post from you as always. Just post about the film the thread is actually created for instead of everything but. What's so difficult about that?!?!?!111
Curious about this but heard it was a bit more on the preachy side. Knowing dolly it couldn't be too bad though, she is usually entertaining. Will definitely rent.

By far one of the coolest comedies/musical I have seen by far. Has so much heart and soul in it that you will definitely love it. I was definitely impressed with this movie. Seeing Dolly Parton on the big screen was a blessing again. She looks amazing. The soundtrack was amazing too. "Hes everything" and "From Here to the Moon and Back" both by Dolly Parton were the best songs in the film. Please guys, support this film because its definitely worth the rent or buy even if its not in your taste of films because just the message alone you get from the film is worthwhile. This is a definite buy for me which I will enjoy again and again. Joyful Noise rocks!
Who are the audiences for these movies? I don't think I'll ever hear someone say, "Let's watch Joyful Noise". It's just one of those who-cares movies. For some reason this films seems annoying. The blu-ray cover is terrible.
