I like a fool went and bought the version with the custom T.Rex. And to my surprize the T.Rex is plastic....What a rip off.
I'll just wait for individual releases like I did with "Alien." Give them another year, and they'll do it. All I want is the first film. The sequels were fine, but my Dvd copies do need to be replaced just yet.
A definite pick up, not sure about the limited edition though. I might have to wait and see how much it is.

How is it not a trilogy if you just listed three movies?

2 has it problems but i don't see how anyone can defend 3-
it may be the worst big budget blockbuster ever-
an absolute disgrace- scifi channel slosh with 1/10 of the budget is better/

Does anyone really use the BD-Live, or On The Go features....ever ?
Finally!
I thought 'III' was dumb, but enjoyable. I thought 'The Lost World' was just flat out dumb.
But the first one is still an amazing movie.

I'm baffled at The Lost World hate. From what I've seen within the Jurassic Park fan community, the majority have always stated part three was by the worst in the trilogy. I'm inclined to agree with them. While part three is a guilty pleasure, it certainly doesn't match up with the intelligence and wonder of the first two films.
Anyway. This is a day one purchase for me. The first two Jurassic Park's have a special place in my movie-loving heart and my collection strictly demands this set be included. Really excited for the "Return to Jurassic Park" documentary. It's a shame there aren't any new deleted scenes or commentaries, though.

I agree...3 was pretty sucky. Much preferred 2, though 1 was the best.

Correct me if I am wrong but tt looks like they ported over everything from the Jurassic Park 4 DVD set onto the 3 DVD with a few more supplements (not including whats on the BluRay)
Sounds like a double dip unless you really want the new stuff on this set...
Is is possible that the transfers can be improved with new technology ?

I would have liked to see, though it would've been WAY big, a big can of shaving cream with trays in the bottom that swing out that hold the discs. Though, as I said, a can of shaving cream the diameter of a blu-ray disc would be quite huge.

It's a Goth-Rex? I could see that, it has a lot of angst and is very disappointed in everyone... especially humans. Eating them might be his/her way to express the void, nothing matters - nothing ever did.

Really? I would rather have JAWS than this. You suck Universal. You truly dissapoint. The gift pack looks way too plastic & if the case is the same style as the one used for the Back To The Future I will not be happy. I'll wait till this is dirt cheap. Like twenty bucks. For the record - the first JP was good, the second was pushing it, & the third is a dino turd.
Yes!!!!
S**t. I think I'm the only person who likes the second film. Recently rewatched the trilogy on the big screen and this is day one purchase for me. Statue looks great no matter how flimsy it might be (I know, sounds stupid, but if this is what it takes for me to get a dino statue in my house because my wife doesn't like JP, then this is what it'll take. Small victories).
I liked the first one a lot but not in a way where I can say "wow...this needs a sequel." I'll most likely pass on the box set.
A trilogy this definitely is NOT.

I agree with the first point, The Lost World is almost like Transformers 2 of JP franchise.
I differ with the second one. Seeing Dinos (especially in JP movies) in all their glorious greatness never get old. In fact, I've read some critics who said that the only good things about movies like 'Disney's Dinosaur, Land of the Lost, and Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D' are their dinosaurs and that made the critics miss JP movies even more.

I always send my brother the digital copies

Interesting to hear the talk of 1 & 3 being the favourites. My friend and I have long maintained that 1 was great, 2 was good, and 3 was abysmal. I'd love to have 1 & 2 as individual releases, but I feel as though they won't have digital copies by the times they're released separately. And I love me some digital copies.
So its the general consenus that 2 wasnt that good huh? I actually was surprised at how much i liked 3 about 10 years ago when i saw it but i remember next to nothing of part 2. I enjoy these but i wouldnt buy em, they've passed their time. I mean seeing dinos on the screen was exciting at one point but not so much nearly 20 years later. What ever happened to part 4 BTW?
Hey guys, didn't any of you realize how lame that T-Rex bonus statue is?! That statue is not even worth more than $3. I don't care what it's made of, that 'eyeshadow' on the T-Rex is just plain ridiculous. It looks like the one being sold at the flea market near my neighbourhood.
As for the movies themselves, yeah this is a solid package. Two enjoyable movies (JP 1 & 3) out of 3 and new extra docs is quite good. I'll buy this before I buy Superman BD package.

Outstanding!
This is how you do it.
DVD and Blu get equal extras and the stuff that is exclusive to Blu-Ray is truely native. *nods*
I will be buying this. I have the Adventure Pack - Franchise Collection, this is a cool upgrade. Though I have to ask.
Will the CGI within be tweaked? As I understand the CGI Golum was reworked for the new Lord Of The Rings box set.
Oh well.

The only bad thing about the set is that it still doesn't have a Spielberg commentary. I will never understand why he doesn't do commentaries on any of his movies.
Woohoo!
I've been wishing this would come out. I loved the first one enough back in the day that it still has significant nostalgia/rewatch value today. Third one is a lot of fun. Second one... well, I could watch it on occasion.
The best reason to upgrade: my DVD boxset is trashed, and the first movie disc is scratched and skips! Never loan DVDs to very young cousins.

ugh @ "Certificate of Authenticity"
What does that even mean?
Which part? A "Certificate of Authenticity" is a stylish piece of paper that says you own the collector's edition. Its basically something they can spread out to take up space in their collector edition photos to make the set look bigger and more packed with goodies.

OMG, waited for years!
Kind of disappointed of the packaging though, but I'll definitely pick up the gift set! *__*

Same here. I hope it's less than 50$ but seeing the "certificate of authenticity" you know this is going to be ridiculously overpriced.

Yeah. Or better yet, Duel. The first JP totally blew me away when I saw it in the theater and I liked the third one, but nowadays I'm afraid Duel endures repeated viewings much more graciously.

Just in time for the 4th? They're still kicking it around but you know if this sells anything they will greenlight it in a heartbeat.
LE for me, depending on the price.
There is a petition or the Jp fans to get more extras, such as deleted scenes, maps, interviews, etc.
The petition is here: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/Jurassice...
Please, send it to your relatives, colleagues, friends, enemies, EVERYBODY!
A wonderful way to promote it is in Facebook. Please do.
The Jurassic Park fans are counting on you.

Ill wait in hopes for just the first one in an individual release. Or maybe ill check out the price on amazon on black friday perhaps.
SWEET. Jaws and E.T. for the end of the year too please....
I'd much rather see a "Carnosaur" box set.
Unfortunately, I doubt it'll be $50, but that's the price I need to see in order to bite on the statue. $35 max for the trilogy by itself.
I'll wait for individual releases like I did with the Alien Quadrilogy.
