Paramount Home Entertainment has announced a Blu-ray release of K-19: The Widowmaker which stars Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson. The disc will be available to own from the 15th September. The film itself will be presented in widescreen, along with a 5.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Extras will include commentary by director Kathryn Bigelow and cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth, 4 featurettes ("The Making of K-19: The Widowmaker", "Exploring the Craft: Make-Up Techniques", "Breaching The Hull", "It's In The Details"), and the theatrical trailer. This wasn't bad at all. Just too fast for a Blu-ray release. I wish Paramount started working on better catalog titles for their next bash of release.
Friggin amazing job by Bigelow. Harrison and Liam are great. Sarsgaard is wonderful too. Incredibly accurate. This is my favorite sub film with Das Boot.

I'm definitely looking forward to K-19 on Blu-ray! I liked this movie a lot better than Crimson Tide!!

Larry King thought it was a masterpiece. I didn't. Like Kathryn Bigelow, but this is possibly her weakest effort.
