Yes a PiP on Kick-Ass! I will be buying this day 1 as its easily the best film I've seen so far this year.
pingas wrote: Actually, I like this cover. The messy paint marks aren't too distracting. They look like they resemble blood and Big Daddy looks like he has tears, which is appropriate. Or maybe the marks were done just to show the comic styling. The cover also brings out the dark tone of the film and it immediately tells parents it isn't for kids.
I'm not interested in buying this film, but I think it's really good.

Nice review, and your response to Ebert mirrors my thoughts in a better way than I could've conveyed them.

I know but then again it is mostly teenagers playing the roles and McLovin is ok but I have no idea who the other people are except for Nicolas Cage.
I will rent it but I doubt it will be something I would watch for repeat viewing.

OMG, it's a bloody movie!
But it's fun so sue me.

Ugh... they're still persisting with these combo Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy sets. Was a simple 2-disc Blu-ray too much to ask for?
Guess I'll wait for the eventual 'unrated' version. You know there'll be one.

Saw it three times in the cinema and it still mesmerized me beyond belief. Favourite film of 2010 by far. Also, one of the best cinematic experiences i've ever had.
This movie looked insanely funny to me, but I still slept on in it, when it was out in the theater. I'll pick up the Blu-ray for sure....
does anyone have any information on a possible unrated directors cut to be released at a later time???

Thanks.
Thanks.
This movie was the first I reviewed for my friend's website (http://therogersrevue.wordpress.com/2010/04/16/...) and I wound up seeing it twice more in theaters after that first press screening. Can't wait for this one on Blu-Ray! Also, director Matthew Vaughn has already said there will be an extended director's cut coming to video soon...
One of the best movies this year!

This is my favorite movie of the year, but just out of curiousity moviewizguy, what's your first?
It's a little movie called How to Train Your Dragon. Seriously, it's a fantastic movie.

I actually regret not seeing this movie again on the big screen. Stupid movie ticket prices.
Ebert's review is not a surprise. Ebert is one of the best and most important film critics of all time, but he also has knee-jerk reactions to 'offensive' subject matter, in the way many older liberals seem to think that the masses will always react incorrectly. He's famous for tirades against slasher films in the '80s, and gave Fight Club a negative review because he was afraid the film would lead to copy cat crimes. The movies that last he usually turns around on eventually. I can't say Kick-Ass will last, but he's expressed some regret in his reactions to Night of the Living Dead over the years.

Very true. Other examples that come to mind are Blue Velvet and Clockwork Orange.

The young girl stole the movie, while the male lead (aaron johnson) felt more or less in the way.
Good stuff, especially the last 20 minutes.

Ugly cover. Decent movie but I had to high expactaions. The lead charactr lacked charm and the movie moved along in a forced matter. Cages West voice was the best thing about it, together with some nice visuals.
Good movie. Fun in places, a little slow in others. An amalgamation of several comic book heroes and colorful posers made this passable movie at best. Sometimes forced yet inventive in places. Plot and story line was a bit tired and overused in my book. Hardly original. Didn't really see why so many people got all hot and bothered over it but who knows. As long as people have fun at the movies, that's all I care about. KA is not going to make into the collection. There wasn't enough there for multiple viewings. The DVD artwork is pretty cool. I'd like to see limited editions featuring each of the characters on seperate DVDs for marketing purposes. I'm sure everyone has their favorite.
i have not seen it yet but realy want to will be buying it
this movie F'ing ROCKS SO MUCH ASS!! i've watched it 5 times within a month. i loved it that much. the reusing/remix of John Murphy's SUNSHINE "Adagio in D min" and "In a Heartbeat" from 28 DAYS LATER works perfectly in this movie and this has some of the best action segments i've ever seen. Hit-Girl OWNS all!! i highly recommend this movie.
I disagree about the soundtrack. While I've nothing against the individual tracks, taken as a whole it felt like something cobbled together by the kind of person who makes World of Warcraft videos.
I actually really hated the Sunshine soundtrack being used in this movie. In Sunshine it brought an even bigger feeling of awe to the scenes it was played in, but here it was just overbearing.
I'll be picking this one up on Blu-Ray for sure.
One of the best movies of 2010. But it didn't do well at the BOX OFFICE and might not get a well deserve sequel.
... I am also glad that the Director didn't go for PG13 bulls**t to get the most REACH.
This movie KICKS ASRSE!

Well I just realized this is Lions Gate so chances are the PiP maybe commentary with a PiP with making of video in it like Rambo
Hoping its more along the line of a Maximum Movie Mode than a Rambo PiP w/commentary which I fear it will be seeing as its got a solo commentary just like Rambo did.
