Never Seen These, The Only Tarantino Movies I Haven't Seen. Everybody's Been Recomending These To Me, But I Guess I'll Just Go Ahead And Wait For The Blu-Ray's Now.
Pass...have it on DVD...won't bother withthe BR, unless it's all on one disk
Whats funny is that you jerkoffs will buy this and feed the company's belly. Then yet another re-release later on. Stupid.
According to Amazon, "The Whole Bloody Affair" set is discontinued.

These are pointless unless they're finally the uncut versions.

Yeah, agree, they should have gotten Kevin Costner ( yes I think he is a fine actor)
Originally they wanted Warren Beatty, but he was busy.
From what I have read, Beatty actually was hired but QT kept telling Beatty to "Do the scene like David Carradine would do it"... finally Beatty said... why don't you just hire David? and he did.

who the hell is going to buy each movie for $34.99. thats an outragous price. i hope no one buys them so they move quicker to release a defnitive box set.
Word Snowman. I loved volume one and thought 2 (volume boo!) sucked Chef's dead salty balls. Sorry Leeb, from the opening monologue where Uma is talking directly into the camera I thought to myself, "Oh c**p, what are you doing?" Maybe intimate, but it was far from short. I was staring at my watch thru most of it and left at soon as Caradine hit the couch and started that boring convo. I've got volume 1, I'll pretend something cool happened after that.
Oh yeah, Hey Snowman - what's different about the Japanese Volume 1?

Still, the fight between Beatrix and Elle was rather good and her learning from her master. I just wish an actual fight took place between Beatrix and Bill. I mean, wasn't that the purpose for us to watch them in the first place? Well, at least for me it was. I own both on regular DVD. I got them used at a Flea Market and that's fine with me. Not worthy enough for any upgrades. Still, mindless fun.
.
The first movie was action driven and the second was story driven. The purpose was to watch her kill bill, not have a three hour overtly saturated Chinese fighting style battle. It was intimate and short. Signifying their relationship and the love they shared
As far as I can tell nobody's asking for a three hour overtly saturated Chinese fighting style Battle. I think most people just wanted a decent action finale. I suspect they realised Carradine wasn't up to the challenge so they rewrote it. Imagine making an action revenge film where the target who is a skilled assassin doesn't fight his would-be assassin.
To be honest I couldn't care less about the whole bloody affair. I'm lucky enough to own the Japanese cut of volume 1 so until then I'm not losing out.
With regard to the poster mentioning more anime. That's surprising since I'm sure I read Tarantino thinking of cutting the anime to make the film shorter.

This is a stupid. Just release them together already.

I figure I've held off on the bare bones and waited this long for the Whole Bloody Affair... what's another year or so?

The Whole Bloody Affair won't be out until at least 2009.
The Weinstein Company are jumping back in the HD game (I believe with the underwatched The Mist) so "The Whole Bloody Affair" should appear one of these... years...

Kill Bill 2 grew on me the second time I watched it and now prefer it to the KB1.
Love the movie and cant wait for 'the whole bloody affair'. Therefore, this is a pass for me.
ps. KB2 is on glorious HD this friday on BBC HD (ch143).

Very old news.... competitor sites have had the news and the cover arts a month ago.

Those are just for promotion, the final version cover we will see on retails will not have any of those bars. But a simple Blu-ray logo on the plastic holder.

I will buy Blu-Rays of "Grindhouse" and "Whole Bloody"... I can wait for now.
Righto. Both "The Whole Bloody Affair" and the theatrical cut of "Grindhouse" are due to hit DVD/Blu-Ray somtime next year according to industry insiders.
Part of the reason that it has taken so long is that QT supposedly decided to have an entire sequence that he cut out of the script before film (probably involving Yubari's sister destroying the Pussy Wagon) done in animated form so it could be re-inserted back into the film. That stuff takes time, which accounts for the massive delay. Anyway, like I said, sources online have stated that the full "Whole Bloody Affair" cut should hit shelves next year..................as will the theatrical cut of "Grindhouse" (which will have all the current featurettes, as well as some extra ones).
Patience is a virtue, especially when it comes to Tarantino projects.

Buena Vista owns KB 1&2. The Weinstein Company owns The Whole Bloody Affair. Buena Vista is releasing KB 1&2 this year because they're in a hurry to beat the Weinstein Company, which will probably be releasing The Whole Bloody Affair in 2009.

Yet, we still support the companies that give us the same c**ppy releases in blu-ray as SD DVD...why, oh why?? The Horror, The Horror...
By releasing this chit on blu-ray mean that there will be no plans for the uncut versions to make a showing.
Would be nice to see the Whole Bloody Affair. And on BD it could conceivably all be on one disc, so one could watch the whole thing without having to switch out.
That said, David Carradine is a prick. I met him at the FX show a couple of years ago. Apparently, all day he was very surly toward anyone who wasn't a hot chick, and despite the fact that people had to pay for photos with him and autographs, he would only call hot chicks around the table to actually be next to him in the photos, everyone else was only asked to shake his hand over the table for their pics with him. A friend of mine, who went to the show earlier than I, was there with his girlfriend, who to some might be considered homely, and while Carradine allowed two attractive looking women in front of them in line to come around the table and even SIT ON HIS LAP for their photos, he told my friend's GF just to shake his hand over the table. My friend was so irate he spit in Carradine's direction and was forced to leave. I found out about this after I had met Carradine. When I went up to him to have my KB box signed and photo taken with him, he actually said, and I quote, "Can we hurry this up? I need to get out of here." I hadn't even said a word to him before him saying that. He then said he was too busy to personalize his signing of the box, and in the photo he had a scowl on his face that made him look like a crochety old man. I could understand someone getting nasty if they're hounded for autographs in public, but this SOB was being PAID to be there, and on top of that, I had to pay $30 for his auto and photo. I was so irritated the next day I sold the signed box on Ebay, only piece of memorabilia I've ever sold, I didn't even want it in my house.
At the same FX show, I met George Romero. It was less busy at his booth at the time, and he was not only kind enough to sign and personalize four items for me for the price of one, but sat there and BS'd with me for about a half an hour about Diary, Diamond Dead, the Masters of Horror episode he was going to do before they canceled the show; one of the nicest guys you'd ever meet. All class, all day.

Even if they do come out with "The Whole Bloody Affair" version, I am over it.Took too long!
The Whole Bloody Affair, if and when it appears, is controlled by The Weinstein Co. Disney owns 1 and 2 separately, and so that's what this is.
The Whole Bloody Affair won't be out until at least 2009.

I'll hang on to my fanedit version that re-arranged both films so they play in cronological order. No flashbacks no jumpcuts. And all on one dvd. To me that IS the whole bloody affair. I liked the first one but the second part left me kinda "blah"
Oh man, I thought this was for "THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR!" And the wait continues...
Already Pre-Order these two.

I'm just glad I got to see the proper version of Grindhouse and those great faux trailers in the theater a couple of times since it's hard to say if we'll ever see a region one release of the theatrical version any time soon.
As for Kill Bill--yawn...wake me when Pulp Fiction is out on Blu-ray.

We must be Bizzaro Polar opposites, the two Kill Bills are the only QT films that I own. I am looking forward to the two in one set as well, however, I still cannot afford Blu-ray

The first had a lot of great action and a little great drama. The second had a little great action and a lot of great drama. Loved the references to other films/genres in both. I can live without seeing the two edited together. I reckon if he'd have wanted to do it, he'd have done it at the time of Grindhouse, because it would have worked far better at promoting that/those film(s) than anything else.
So I'm just gonna be happy with the two films on Blu-ray.

Meh. I thought they were ok. David Carridine's bad acting (and his terribly annoying lisp) really blew the whole thing for me.
It seems that sources close to him have recently said Tarantino has become rather disenchanted with releasing Kill Bill as a single movie, but this might be as a result of the failure of Grindhouse - we just hope that we didn't jinx the whole thing with our (very) brief appearance in GH...

I think the Whole Bloody Affair will be released shortly before the theatrical release of QT's upcoming movie "Inglorious B*****ds," so the sales will feed off of each other.
QT will probably release the Whole Bloody Affair in 20 years like his 12,450 other projects.
They're promotional banners, they're not on the retail art. maybe the boxed set is The Whole Bloody Affair? Who knows?
Those blue bars really don't fit.
