while old B&W movies tend to have pretty amazing pictures on blu-ray, this one might suffer from the "too clear" effect in regards to Kong himself.
i recently saw Snow White on an HD tv station and while the image was freakin gorgeous and the colors just popped, the drawback was that the distinction between cel animated characters and backgrounds stuck out like a sore thumb to the point it was distracting.
so i'm wondering if Kong will look even more fake with such clarity. lol

The greatest of all horror films ? I don't think so. This isn't Dracula and this isn't even a horror movie. It's just a sad, depressing piece of garbage.

I wish they added something new to the table in terms of extras. Everything seems to be ported over from the SE DVD. And they need to specify the lost spider pit sequence is Peter Jackson's recreation, NOT Obie's original that does not exist anymore.

I will pick this up sometime this year. I enjoyed it when I watched it, but this version was the last version I saw. I saw the 1977 version first, then Jackson's version and finally this one. I think this is with the book packaging.
Well I guess I shouldn't have just bought this on DVD a couple months back! I won't go for this I suppose but maybe if they included the sequel I would perhaps.

While it is fine if you have your own opinion of this movie, isn't it quite useless if you go to the page of a movie you definitely hate & have no concern with and just saying how c**ppy it is? I went to Escape from LA page myself while I really hate that movie, but there, I ask someone about the appeal of the movie that can make me understand more.

This is the first RKO movie to be released on Blu-ray by Warner. As you may know, Warner only owns the rights to the RKO catalog in America. It's Universal in the UK or Éditions Montparnasse in France.
Warner is almost always region-free, except for a few early titles by New Line, but I'll check before ordering.

Already got the SE DVD with the tin case. Probably pass on double-dipping....

I didn't mean anything of the kind. I just don't watch those types of movies. I'm not one of those losers that thinks that they have the right to stop other people from doing something or going somewhere that they don't like. If you like c**p movies, then you're free to like them. You have a weird idea of how the world works.
