Excellent, Excellent film! Good thing it's coming to the glory of 1080p
I like how it will include the failed TV piolt.
Interesting viewing, if you've seen it.

"The Off the Record, On the QT, and Very Hush-Hush Edition!!!"
can't wait for blu
Hell f-ing yeah! This movie deserves the royal treatment.
I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but if this isn't a new transfer it's gonna look like C R A P on Blu-ray. Good movie though.
this should have been released years ago. warner milked the snapper case dvd of every dollar. at least it on the way now.

According to DVD Times it will be remastered, and why wouldn't it be.

The SD DVD (which I picked at Wal-mart for $5) is a great DVD, that would put to shame many newly released DVDs...EVEN blu-ray discs...
I love the film but I am holding off upgrading some of my SD DVDs to Blu Ray. I read that Toshiba is meant to be launching a new DVD player at the end of the year which will upgrade SD DVDs to "High definition". If the machine can be made multi-region - then this would be ideal for me (as I have a combination of Region 1, 2 & 3 discs).
Brilliant movie. Looking forward to seeing that TV pilot.
It's great the interesting TV pilot is included. If the show was made to series, I wonder how it would have affected 24. So CBS not picking up the show meant that Sutherland could do 24 the following year.

You can't upgrade standard DVD picture to high def but you can upgrade to Hi-Def so why not? Anyway i don't know why Tosh doesn't just make a decent Blu-Ray player and be done with. Hope the Blu-ray version gets a decent remastering job.

This is a double dip we need! One of the best new noir films.Up there with Chinatown.
"Go back to Jersey, sonny. This is the City of the Angels, and you haven't got any wings."

Looking forward to the TV pilot, which had Kiefer Sutherland as Jack Vincennes... don't ask me how that fits in with the continuity of the film, 'cause I don't get it, either.
september is gonna be a hell of a month for blu-ray, 3-4 titles must-buy that month alone.
Excellent Film!! I remember seeing this one three times in the theater.

No, no, no. Don't give the marketing guys at Warner Bros. any ideas.

From what I recall when it was first announced, the pilot was a prequel to the movie. Can't wait to get this disc and check it out!
At Last!!!! My favorite movie ^^
Alright! About time this was announced! I will definitely be getting this.
SO deserving of a special edition. I want to get rid of the c**ppy snap-case, too.
Finally. Warner let it slip this was coming nearly 3 years ago I think. I'll definitely be picking up the Blu Ray.
One of my all-time favorites! Let's hope they don't screw up the packaging...finally a double-dip that is warranted.
i enjoyed the film alot, don't know if i will buy this yet, is there a hdmi converter out there for people who have hd televisions that don't have a hdmi outlit on them
In answer to M@tt's post - the New Toshiba player is meant to "super up-convert" Standard DVDs to "high definition" Blu Ray quality. You can read more by going to the Variety Hi Definition webpage.
Makes you wonder why toshiba bothered with HD-DVD then if they can transform a standard DVD into full HD. Sounds like a desperate attempt to compete with sony after losing the HD disc war if you ask me.
I love this movie and I can't wait for it on Blu!
